Runescape is dead? A Quarter of a million gamers tonight... doesn't seem very dead to me. So far as I can tell, there's been about a 10% drop in players this week and a fair measure of those were likely gold farmers/bots. Runescape is most certainly alive and kicking. It will now go from strength to strength as one of the rare MMPORGs that has almost completely elminated cheating and RWTs.

Consider sites that offer free music, movies, games torrents etc... illegal of course yet there's hundreds of them. If huge music labels and Hollywood studios with massive cash and the best lawyers can't close illegal sites like that... then what chance does a comparitively lowly company like Jagex got at closing down the arguably lesser problem of RWT sites?

Yeah, that's an awesome result for them. I expected them to win and even had money on it, but 4-0 surprised even me. Great to see Liverpool qualify again :) a lovely suprise to see us play so well again :) cmon the boys on sunday!!! crush those fake reds :XD: Oooops :( Just cost me a tenner. Really expected Liverpool to win today.

Great article :) As for myself, I don't want fame. I'd like to be known, but not too often. I love it when i get a HYT lol. Other than that, I really do play for the fun and community.

I never bothered with staking or PKing, so I'm used to not making fast money and as such, the recent changes don't bother me. The only way I'd expect to make fast money is if there's a new item released that's worth lots of cash (i.e. the new shadow dark beast thing or the full d helm)

I think Jagex don't want them to give good drops. There presence is simply to hinder you in the Wildy and I don't think Jagex want people hunting them for their drops. I agree that the drops could use a slight improvement though.

Don't know if you mentioned it in the guide, but a bow sure comes in handy when hunting chins. They wander pretty far away at times and it's frustrating. Killing them with a bow from range is a nice solution, forcing them to respawn near your waiting traps :)

Yer, a friend of mine took about 2-3 weeks to collect the entire set, and the top was the hardest part for him. I think in the end, he just skipped as many events as possible to skip to the reward. The time you've spent on it so far is not unusual. Just keep at it buddy :)

I can mine about 700 per hour at the mine field north east of Yanille. There's three rocks perfectly placed together and 700 ores per hour is easy even without too much concentration.

If they could hold on to an account long enough to steal it for good, they could get rid of the PIN anyway. Still another barrier if not entirely effective. I'd rather it remains, than offering up no hinderance at all.

I'd prefer for them to keep security stuff like bank pins in place. I fear that RWTs will move their focus onto stealing accounts and selling those instead. An account with an inaccessible bank account would be a nice mearsure to discourage such an act.

In a recent sticky that Mod Mark posted in the RSOF, he said for new items the 5% restriction would be waived. This would pretty much allow us to decide the initial price for the items. Great stuff :) Must've missed that part as I skimmed the article. Well pleased about that then :)

LOL, probably that same crazy crowd that demand Genesis should be taught instead of evolution. Bah, what can you do... can't please everyone I suppose. ;)
