  1. Difficult to say... I'd hazard a guess at 1:15 with level 3 clues.
  2. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=diary05a I will continue to update the first post with credits :) Think about it.while woodcutting you can summon a ferret or something to collect more birds eggs and nests or you can summon a cow or horseto create manure and increase youre chance of crops growing or thats how i see it :P Love that idea. I also envisioned doing something like mining, then summon a beast of burden to carry your ores back to the bank for you :)
  3. I believe that level 99 is enough for most skills (and already too much for certain skills... i.e hunting and farming). As for combat, I would love to see the level increased. There's too many level 126s now, and even that high level doesn't do us justice. I used a calculator on a competing site to this one and discovered that my actual combat level is 134. I think this increase would make for some fantastic levels
  4. Good point, I hadn't considered it could be a new slayer monster! @ the people saying "gf wildy", you're idiots. This looks like a good month for player killing in general and it only stands to make things better. And I reckon the tombstones are just decorative, not sure I hope it's not a new slaying monster... It takes me an average of 14 hours to achieve a dark bow from Dark Beasts. I don't fancy spending 14 hours in the Wild with my best equipment in the distant hope that I'll get the best drop. Especially in those first few weeks when everyone will be dropping by, taking pot shots and honest slayers.
  5. Nice guide, but difficult to read. Needs breaking up with images. 8/10 in its current form
  6. Although a certificate of 25 may be taking things too far, I'm in agreement that certificates do require adjustment. I mean, I can't believe Beowulf was rated 12. No 12 year old should see that movie. That's just one example. Images and scenes from movies DO influence us all. Usually it's in a good way, but there are those of us who are inspired to do nasty stuff.
  7. Clan Wars sounds absolutely fantastic. It will be great to stage enormous battles without the restrictions the Wild places on current battles. No more level limits I presume and hopefully it's completely safe. This could be a major step towards Jagex recognition of Clans and implementation of the appropriate support. Clan ranks anyone?
  8. Thanks for the great comments and contributions so far. Some great ideas and justifications there :) For the few who believe that preperation is dumb, I hope you'll be eating your words in a few weeks time ;) The crucial direct quote that justifies he focus on hunting is the following from the Development Diary... http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=diary05a I will continue to update the first post with credits :)
  9. Good job on the Hunting mate. Ash? What's that about?
  10. Hehe, I love the GE. Took me about 20 seconds to buy that many
  11. There's many things that put a smile on my face. In no particular order... * Celtic scoring a goal ! * My fiancee telling me she loves me (sorry for the yuck factor) ;) * Driving with the windows down on a sunny day (kinda rare in Scotland) * Leaving the cinema after watching a really good movie * The scent of an Indian curry when I'm absolutely starving ;) * Gaining a level in RS (doesn't happen very often now)
  12. So at this point we've got at least a month to work various other skills and items before the much anticipated release of Summoning/AnimalLore. Personally, I'm preparing by working on items and skills that I believe will be useful. For about a month before Construction was released, I decided to collect lots of various types of logs. That gamble partially paid off when teak, mahogany and oak logs turned out to be very useful indeed. I hope to repeat this luck with Summoning. Skills worth developing? Hunting : The Development Diary says that Hunting will be to Summoning what Mining is to Smithing. As such, I intend to get at least lvl 90 hunting before the release Runecrafting : They'll probably release a new type of rune for this particular spell (the life rune maybe). I don't know the level, but I'm working on this skill just in case. Mining : That new rock on the Wallpaper section is intriging. I want the mining level to work on it even if it's not related to Summoning Woodcutting : a by product of attempting to secure nests for bird eggs, suspected of being useful for the new skill? Fishing : will you be able to catch high level fish as part of summoning? - sophia1900 Take a Break : take a thirty day break, so you come back refreshed and ready to put some serious hours into the new skill when it's released - Makoto_the_Phoenix Items worth gathering? Pure Essence : I've bought 100k to craft the new rune. Even if there is no new rune, this won't be a complete waste of money Merchanting : Just gather whatever is needed after the skill is released and sell to high level players who are willing to spend millions on the skill early on. - Omali Ashes : awaiting an explanation for this one... - Ollyc3 Energy Drinks : in case the new skill requires lots of running around - Juader Bird Eggs : maybe finally a use for these with Summoning? - Jamesjeffery Cold Hard Cash : some are hoping to power their way up the Summoning ranks by splashing cash on the skill. High level runes : in the likely event that they are also used to cast Summoning spells i.e. nats, deaths etc.. - Solidus_77 Bones : perhaps bones will be used in summoning - Rahila Vulture eggs-by killing vultures - Rahila Raven eggs-found in bird nests - Rahila karamthulhu's - found by killing zombie pirates from rum deal quest. - Rahila bat bones? (fruit bat pic on rs front page) - Rahila wolf bones? (spirit wolf) - Rahila Watch The Dev' Diaries : carefully read each DD released for future clues. - Rcty Quests? Anything related to animals (in case a new quest is created to unlock the skill like they did with Runecraftin). A new quest might require the completion of previous quests such as Gertitudes Cat, IIcthlarin's Little Helper, Rat Catchers etc... - boxer5543 Junkie_Joe made this.... Anyway, what are you guys working on, and what are you collecting? Findings... So far most people are focused on training hunting and merchanting opportunities. There seems to be some general hard feelings amoung F2P that Summoning will not be open to them. Best advise would be that if you intend to save items, make sure they're worthwhile in terms of an alternative usage... just in case Summoning doesn't use them. Possible Relation To Other Skills pure speculation Mining : Summon a beast of burden to carry your ore back to the bank Fletching:Send an animal to go collect flax while you collect it from their habitat - krisc6 Thieving:Summon a loud animal like an eagle to fly past the target and distract them while you pickpocket them. - krisc6 Fishing:Summon a carniverous fish or cat to catch the fish with you quicker - krisc6 Firemake:Summon a baby dragon to light teh logs twice as fast Mining:Summon an animal to bash teh rocks like a rock golem - krisc6
  13. I usually listen to various tracks on Winamp or switch the TV on to Kerrang.
  14. Looks cool.... I want one! Really can't wait for Summoning... definately the most exciting update since Construction.
  15. It's fantastic that he's a self made millionaire and he's still in his 20s. Hope he has a great birthday. N.B.. maybe that's why BHS hasn't been posted for December yet. Andy is having a day off, and the guys in the office are slacking off ;) ;)
  16. Unreal Tournament 3 gets my vote. I'm a huge fan of that franchise.
  17. I'm not sure that they'll compress the skills page... I Think they're more likely to increase the window size or add an extra skill tab
  18. Wouldn't they need a reasonable level of mining or theiving to navigate the Abyss? This is a very bad thing if it's true anyway.... this will bring even more PKers to the area, making life much more difficult for genuine RCers
  19. I really doubt that Jagex will do a reset on RS. Everyone has a massive amount of time invested in the game, and a reset would likely drive most players away. That's why Jagex are releasing new games such as Mechscape. The idea that players starting that game will all start on a level playing field.
  20. They'll either; 1. Make the game screen slightly taller (but the game window will remain the same with just some extra chat lines added) 2. Make the icons smaller 3. Add a mini-tab for a second page of skills
  21. Nope, you must have two different types of skill cape, then they'll both be trimmed.
  22. I haven't watched the TV series yet, but I'm really looking forward to the movie :)
  23. I'm a Guild Wars fan myself. I did try the WoW demo, but didn't enjoy it. Thought the graphics were inferior and the spell sets weren't as dynamic or as useful. I think I played GW solid for about three months before finally stopping last year. My only complaint was the new expansion packs that I thought just weren't original enough. They were just more of the same thing and weren't worth the money. Might try out Tabula Rasa which apparently is the GW engine with a sci-fi twist.
  24. Lol, nice answer. The guides I've read say you can easily earn 200k exp per hour at the Ape Atol with chinchompas so 90 to 99 would take no more than 40 hours (probably much less than that). As for costs... rough guess. Say you inflict 100 damage/exp per chin' thrown, then you'd need 80k chins overall. At current price of 750 per chinchompa, that's about 60m I suppose. I've never done Ape Atol with chinchompas, so my estimates are on the conservative side. The damage is likely higher than I suggested thus, bringing costs down. Hope it gives you a rough idea anyway. p.s. I'm working on hunting and currently have 10k chins saved (probably best to collect the chinchompas yourself given their insane price lol)
