  1. Actually the opposite: the whole "rc + ess" bot market stopped, as the major bot owners won't update untill the prices are 200/150 gp+ again.
  2. Th point was to say what bind are better for the team, not overall better. Sure, hex or neck are the best dps 3rd binds, but considering dgs already has ~10 hexes and ~12 necks, cele staves and rapiers would be very welcome as addition to the higher leveled teams(where there are already 2-3 hexes per team, sometimes even 4). Would it be possible/best (when you have a few who have ie staffs bound anda few who have hexes bound), that certain bosses are only done by a small group of players, those who are specialized against that boss. (IE: dreadnaught being done by the staff wielders, necrolord by the hexers) - and then the rest of the team continues doing the rest of the dung?
  3. practice in runescape? Don't make yourself a fool, runescape doesn't have anything you can practice in, as with the 0.6 second turns, and terribly laggy servers (especially europe mainland servers are terrible, I have a fibre wire connection of 1 Gbit/s and never lag to any game, yet all RS servers have 300-400 ping). This means that doing everything "correct" is more a matter of being lucky that your things are in the correct "turn" instead of rolling over to the next turn.
  4. Don't ever get a dds, the chaotic rapier has higher dps than dds DURING SPECIALS.. Or at least very, very similar dps.. You're better of getting no spec weapon then.
  5. Just look through the source java files if you don't trust others..
  6. Btw on the RS client: it's not only open sources, it's FREE software licensed by GNU. - This means you're epxlicitelly allowed (and even pushed to do it) to make changes & re upload the client yourself. - Given you give users the same freedom (so you also have to license it under GNU), "copyleft". - Also as modifications belong to the dev-tree of the original client if the original client is allowed to do something, so are the modified! There is however a but: you can not name it the official client anymore. So now that we (I) know this, when can we finally see really modified clients? Like it rewritten in C++ and taking advantage of real directX 9/10 features (and the speed of native assembly instead of java bytecode, this should be especially visible in the "3d-features" part - using JAVA completely defeats the point of having a dedicated video card).
  7. This is correct. You'll notice it at skele trio, too, where they seemingly target one person, or the warrior will follow one person around the whole time. Some monsters have "meters," like skele mages. They'll attack each person equally. If you're the last to run into a room with a skele mage (assuming the rest of the team has been there for a little while), it'll immediately target you. Yeah: Here are few tricks I learned myself: -If the only mages are necros/forggotn mages (who can unhood you) do NOT pray magic initialy: the mages will only use offensive magic AFTER you are unhooded. This can save quite some prayer points (to the point of not praying at all, when 5 people enter the room). -when rushing through a room with a few mages, just take off your hood before entering. The 1 extra attack turn of rangers/warriors does not make up for the loss in protection in further rooms! If you fight a (lv 149) ghost, meleeing it. What prayer should one activate? - Their melee attack they use much more often, but it's terribly inaccurate (and I have the suspection they use their magic more if you pray melee). Magic normally hits, however in melee range they hardly use it.
  8. How does aggressiveness in a dungeon actually work? I've noticed dungeons where literary no monster will ever "focus" me (considering monsters which focus 1 target like demons etc). Yet I've also seen dungeons where each room I'm the focus again.. There seems no in between: either you're always focussed or you're not focussed.. It is as if at start of the dungeon each person gets a priority for "focus" of monsters and then that doesn't change through the dungeon.. Is this correct, and is it possible to determine?
  9. why would you decompile if the source is available as a small tarball?
  10. During special slayer monsters (which require slayer levels) it shines every kill, and it seems to "double" the amount of slayer-equipment (metal boots, granite mauls etc) I get. Putted double between quotes since it's untested, but there was a very, very noticeable difference now between with & without (pre-updates), doubling is a bit too much I think, but 1.5 times as many slayer items seems even on the low side. This is tested over a 20-ish tasks, so again not really accurate but it shows it does have an effect.
  11. You know EVERYONE can die once to shave 3 minutes of the time (and still the toal xp is higher). So in total of 5 deaths the total xp is higher if you got 3 minutes of the floor times - and unless you're selfish it's good to die if it means you can shave a minute from the total time by dieing once as keyer. For me personally, I don't mind about times, or about personal xp per hour: what I value most is the TOTAL xp/hour, or even better total "relative" xp per hour. (So for floor 30 I expect less xp/hour than 45) - focussing on the whole team. This means I don't mind dieing if it helps the team, though I do mind mindless rushing & dieing to just speed up everything. I think for keyers a plate can be usefull, but what use has it for dpsers? - There's almost always much more food than can be aten, and if needed I'd die once at boss. - I've been able to do this from lv 80 - 100, why couldn't I do this 100 - 120? I personally am thinking about binding gauntlets (though I'm really, really wondering - the closer I get the more I wonder), a rapier is just a bit "too much" for me too handle at the moment, swapping between surge box, rings & styles is about as much as I can do (while praying best). I'm unsure if I get personally real benefit from using rapier, also considering I have to use prome. Gauntlets are "easier" to manage, giving a static dps boost to your main weapon. However as prome is in both cases the best I can wield - and I actually can soon make both the rapier & gauntlets (yet not the plate) I sincerelly wonder if the plate would also be a viable option? - considering I'm not 99 defense and the plate might give me sufficient armour to "tank" those things such as lv 120 zombies?
  12. 27-28min floors are horrible for a 105+ dung community. I get faster floors with DGS ranked keyers and low level dungers. I'd expect that with everybody having 3 binds and a whole lot more experience than me, the floors would be at least in the 20-25 range. That's debatable, floor times are not completely reliant on the skill of the keyer. The best keyer can get the worst map layout and key a 25+, when they usually key consistent sub 25's. for example 2 barrel rooms in a 1-way part means basically spending 5 minutes "extra" (over something like skilldoors)
  13. Would it also be possible to generate a first person, or "over the shoulder" view? This would make runescape much more fun as you actually feel like you ARE the character, instead of a diety giving commands from high up there to your character. (Also the 0.6 second reaction time doesn't help you getting a feeling you ARE the character, instead a person giving instructions towards your avatar).
  14. Bashing? I'm telling you what a single floor with 3BO would tell you. 3BO is legitimately frustrating to me. I dread getting even one random from 3BO to do my high warpeds. not aiming towards you, but about those countless pictures that seem to be the majority of the posts nowadays.. Instead of actual positive advice.
  15. I know it's fun to bash others, but after some time we've seen it already....
  16. I still think smithing should be able to "upgrade" your weapon: EACH and ANY weapon released now and in the future would be "upgradeable" by smithing. The amount of extra stats the weapon receive would be dependent on your smithing level, and the "tier" of the weapon. Higher tied weapons like godswords, dungeoneering weaponry gain less bonus than dragon. - however your smithing level should always be the main factor. Maybe even better would it be if the bonus gained was "random" (and the average shifts with your smithing level, low levels trying to upgrade high end items would have even a bigger chance to downgrade than upgrade weaponry). When trading the upgrade might or might not be lost, this is a balancing issue. Not loosing weaponry upgrades on trade would add another new layer of player interaction, and markets -especially when the upgrades are randomly-. In many games I look for those weapons with "special" mods, and people are digging for those weapons as main activity: I think it would be awesome if runescape would also get this. People would never be able to have the perfect items for everything, and specialist equipment would flourish. However it would be impossible to regulate this trade through the GE. And it would give a huge offset to the current balance in the game. Keeping upgrades untradeable would result in less changes for runescape as a whole, items still have a specific value and nothing would really change: other than high smithing being a requirement for high level monster hunts.
  17. Probably due to them selling out to the US.. And when you sold out to the US the only thing that matters is money, money money. In the US no one cares about ethics anymore.
  18. You know suggestions are made on previous searches? When you search often for "runescape" google will suggest everything "together with" runescape (if applicable).
  19. In an overview guide like they want there there's absolutely no place to go into so much detail, quickly covering the moves from the bosses would be more than enough already - probably too much.. Floor monster's weaknes is absolutely ridiculous. If I read a quide and I want information quickly this is a complete waste of time. Can be summarised in a few sentences.. Basically "2h as it has most dps/good accuracy, while spear might be better the beserker ring makes up for this". - Shadow silk hood should be obvious. Should also be able to done within a few chapters: notice you don't have to go into too much detail. The goal of a guide is NOT to tell a person what is best, the goal of a guide is to give a person the tools so he can starts discovering. You can never catch practise in a guide, here one would link towards youtube videos & other resources, a written guide is simply not the correct media to write this. this would be an excellent idea to just show a link towards an appendix, what would this be of benefit in the main body of a guide? - People who are just wanting a quick guide won't have interest in this. remember the goal is 2 pages, so a guide which can be read fast and gives an overview. ("How to start this skill, and will I like this skill"). - This is just too much detail. , "click on it read the what it says, remember" - why do you even want to tell every little detail?
  20. I'm sorry, but I think you've got to learn a lot still if you think this is limited. Less pages means obviously less specific data: but it does not mean the guide is worse, just that it targets a different audience. For my latest study I've been working on a torsion box of an airplane wing. (the "skelleton" where all forces act through). This was a full year study (often 60+ hours a week), building, testing evaluating redesigning etc etc. I've gained more information than most textbooks handle. Yet I still am capable of writing an overview -which covers everything- in half a page, 2 pages, 10, etc etc (all the way to the full report of 150 pages). They are just handled for a different audience and hence are written in a different style & have a different level of detail. The half-full page (summary) one will be send to managers who get 100's of designs, they print it down and spent at most 15 minutes a design it requires a style where you write in a quickly readable format, and cover the specifics of your box quickly. Than the 2-page (the introduction/conclusion/evaluations) are used to verify that you're a good candidate.. After which it is send further to specialists who read the 10 page thing. And only some specialists/acadimical people (less than 1% of the people who touch your report and started reading the summary) will read the full report from back to back. What I want to say is that you will HAVE to be able to show quality in a short amount of text. Seeing these "2 page max" as a potential problem shows you lack experience and should get experience in this field. People don't have time, they are not there for you, and you have to show them -quickly- that you're worth spending time.
  21. If he plans on joining DGS is binding a plate wise? I thought only keyers could bind plates and the rest were requested to get offensive binds. If you don't own a shadow silk hood, you'll take much, much more damage during dungeons - especially from non-mage creatures. This results in defense being important.
  22. Absolutely wrong.. The correct sentence would be: They leave us based companies alone.. But force european companies to stop operating while they are the best profitable part of the mother concern.. Because the mother concern had to cut in jobs and doesn't want to do that in the US so they move all knowlenge out of europe toward the US.. What does the US give us except a total economy burn out by too high loans?
  23. While the first eras (by their way of influencing runescape) are difficult to explain in a non-timeline based manner, I really hope(d) that for the more "modern" eras you could/can use a "subject based" approach instead of "time based". - A subject based would make it more easy to follow, and read up.. Making the guide much more friendly and coherent. Subjects could be: elves, gnomes, dwarves etc etc. Remember that in this kind of "lore" relative time (was it before or after that event) to each other is the only thing which is important.
