just tossing ideas: but isn't a hex (or any bow for that matter) also strong vs bats? - I know they're weak vs stab and range too. Also: while desperado might be better now, arrow conservation can still be a problem, especially in case of occults with the chance for a necrolord.

Dungeoneering in-game items obtained from shop?
pulli23 replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in Questionnaires
uhm considering the example prices: no obviously not.. Currently it takes almost always at least 13m xp (thus equivalent to 1.3m tokens) before someone gets a hexhunter. So at least make the price 5-8 times as high and then we're talking about decent. -
great rs selling out to us.. I wish the EU would finally put an end to these abbominations and would ban US people from misusing inventions made by the EU.
-
Well I would base the chapters on the races instead on the times (no it keeps having the feeling of a chronological explanations of events, instead of a real "lore" ).

Well those crabs & stuff from zombie pirates just remembered me from the slugs.. (And slugs seem to be something in a lot of quests, didn't you see slug when doing the last penguin quest?). Problem with temple knights is that they don't really seem opposed to the black knights. Also, are the black knights of keep le faye actually in same way related to the black warrior castle? Or the barbarian village in f2p, do they have connections with the "high barbarians" in the north? I think a good read is really nice to have, but care should be taken it's not a "timeline", timelines focus often too much on EVENTS not really showing the interaction between different groups on rs. (And mostly focus on gods/mahjarats)

to learn them to prepare next time? Really, with a few brews, black dhide, korasis for scaring & other untradeable items you scare pkers enough to never get them to attack you. And if they do: magic splashes half the time (so you can tele or run), you have some defense + heavy food.

Hi there, I've been looking for it quite a while, but I seem to be unable to find it: I'd like to have a good overview from the complete storylines within runescape, and how they interact with each other. I'm always wondering: what do temple knights & white knights have to do with each other, do the pirates know off the slug menace? I know I can read the various quest guides, and the various articles at the runewiki.. However this is often not cohensive, and doesn't read nicely. So does there exist a complete overview, written in a "book"-style, so it can be read at a good sunny day with a relaxing cold beer sitting in the garden? I think such a thing would be amazing to have on tip.it.

If you want people only who are tip.itters: why can't you simply check if they're registered here on the forums or not? -

Because there is no userbase for those people and it isn't a majorly discussed topic on tif. There is for metagaming? - apart from a few who shout very hard? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to discus things in a place where when I ask for the droprate of a certain item I don't get "it's random" - however wouldn't those topics fit well in general discussion? - And then depending on the attendence (or the fastness of them getting burried while still relevant, being discussed by a solid group) it might be a good board. - Why couldn't you start those discussions at the general runescape discussion board, just to show that they are valuable and a real asset to tip.it's community. It's also not like being a seperate forum means that other people wil look, everyone can still open any forum and it has the same visibilty. Debate club and a metagaming forum have very little in common - I don't see how you could ever compare them. Debate club was ment to "debate" things like new barrow methods, was barrows better than green dragons for money. (Yet also: "is the current way jagex handles bugs correct"). Seems awefully similar to meta gaming, even a bit broader actually. Yet it had almost no activity after the initial topics were discussed to death. Sure each update a new topic was added, but those quickly derailed to be copies of the discussion in general discussion. Do you think this is inherently different when a forum is called "meta gaming". - You CAN"T force people not to post there, and however silly and stupid in your eyes they might be, stupidity can never be a reason to ban. So also those meta gaming forums will -after the initial burst is discussed- fall down to the level "but the drop rate is random". tip.it is already splitted into way to many subforums, and I feel to see the coherence between the various number of subforums. But I still don't see why you make such a fuss about it: if you feel there is a community for meta gamers, and there's need for that it should be terribly easy to set up your own boards. Why can't a user join different websites for different needs? -

if metagaming should have it's "own" sub forum, than why not those who like to play as RPG, so a role-playing sub board. Or a board for each style of playing a game? We DID have a "meta" gaming forum; it was called the "debate club". However it had to be closed as there simply were not enough members participating, only a handfull actually cared! -

Blitzer is better damage output, because of less overkill loss Blazer is better for kiting a boss (IE dreadnaut). Blazer is also better for rune Conservation, IE if you have a limited number of fire runes to go along with your celestial catalytic staff. As a keyer, Blazer is better for me since It let me pop off a single high damage shot while running around. Also the keyer always bosses, and blazer is generally better for bosses. Blazer's also better if you intend to learn how to fire surge with a catalytic staff. Otherwise, blitzer. Just to add to this, blazer's spec is "independent" from accuracy I believe (at least, it can spec when you hitted a splash with the normal hit - it might still be that the spec has it's own accuracy roll) - so for bosses/places where you often miss (*looks at necrolord*) and when you have low magic level *looks at own* the blazer will beat the blitzer. -

Yes he disappointed me too.. Why remove a guide for such a dramaqueen who is only in it for recognition? Knowlenge should be shared, and not be limited by 1 person's emotions! -
the ess-mine bot was broken for quite a while. Which also leads to speculation. (And the owners said they wouldn't update the bot if the price dropped below 150 gp)

Wow, you are still wondering about tip.it's IP? Let me tell: google's IP is far worse.. And they make use of it in a far worse manner: a friend of mine once used google to share information - came out it valueable information.. When google figured this out they didn't remove it, no they claimed the rights on the information and actually prevented us from doing any further research. There goes 5 years of research down the litter bin. Yet will this stop you from using google spreadsheets? - NO cause with google you know it makes no sense to complain, you won't get e-famous when you suddenly remove your spreadsheets from google and blame google for this. The only reason it seems you actually posted the information was to get e-famous, why else would you have a problem with someone reposting it for you? -
A clan is in the first place a social environment: it creates in a big group "us" and "them". So it helps a person feeling more at "home" and relaxed when playing with his clan. That is the very definition of a clan.. But I guess most "clans" in runescape should be renamed to "teams", they aren't formed to create social environments, but instead are formed because of a common interest. And only revolve around that. (A clan should always surpass the game, as when people get along and become good friends you won't limit it to 1 game.)

no, any parent should be able to help their child.. Heck any person should be able to help an addicted person, if laws put you in jail for that I dare say the laws a violation of human rights.

Certain floors have different prestiges for example you might get 50k from floor 40 which was your max before resetting but you do floor 35 which gives 42k then it averages those together to give you the prestige you earned for that particular floor then it multiplies that by your efficiency %. So you would a 46k prestige average and then it would multiply that by your average example 140% to equal your total xp gained. The base prestige is constant.. it is "level 30 prestige". However the actual prestige you see CAN change over various floors: the base is modified by for example the amount of rooms in your dungeon, the average level of npcs met..

As I said: once you post something to the general public, it don't belong to you anymore.. If people worked that way there wouldn't ever be innovation and no one could actually build upon discoveries made by someone else without fear of having to stop. Information never ever should BELONG to a person.

Exp still isn't great. When you add the low charms, effigies, and crappy drops, they aren't really worth it. uhm well they do drop rune arrows and a few more alcheable quite often.. As well as a decent crimson drop-rate.. I'm just stunned you skip them: this means you skip almost everything? - And only do around 5 different tasks? Greaters and the like are even worse profit.. [/hide]Typical slayer task list is: Black demons Mutated bloodvelds Dagganoth Hellhounds Black dragons Abberant spectre Suqah Kalphites Dark beasts Ice strykewyrms Steel dragons Iron dragons Mithril dragons Then adding wyverns & waterfiends for summoning xp, maybe abyssals/blue dragons/nechryeal for some money. Greaters, fire giants, dusties and gargoyles are all pretty sucky. This is my task list essentially, minus dark beasts and ice strykes since I can't do them yet. Don't you loose a lot of money with slayer this way? (I'm very interested, I like to get slayer levels to 93 done, however as slayer is the only thing I can stand in runescape -apart from dungeoneering/castlewars- I need to make a small profit with it too.

15-Apr-2011 - Guaranteed Content Poll: Boss Rematch?
pulli23 replied to BloodAngel's topic in General Discussion
You're voting to be able to fight them again. In what way? No one knows. But you're still voting for which you'd like to fight again. Is it a redundant fight? - Is it simply a follow up? - are the levels increased? Those are the very first questions I had before even reading what they wrote, and they weren't answered. Don't you have those question too? - If you do you're basically voting for black holes, not sure what the outcome will be! Maybe undermining democracy is a bit too heavily said, but it's certainly not the idea which I have when people ask me to "vote" on something. So I refrain from voting for this. -
uhm let a web page playing music, for the sake of music alone? Dear god no. Please keep in mind the first reason for this website is runescape, I don't see how music playing will increase this?

15-Apr-2011 - Guaranteed Content Poll: Boss Rematch?
pulli23 replied to BloodAngel's topic in General Discussion
Voting on something you don't know anything about? And what your vote is used for? Does runescape really think we are stupid? VOTING IS A SPECIAL GIFT don't simply vote lightly without considering all consequences. For this reason I think any person who values democracy and input from users should boycott this vote and not vote untill you can vote intelligently.
