  1. I went there for 3 hours and only got fishing potions and other random useless stuff.. anyone who says he got several within an hour either have very strange hours or is lucky!
  2. That is only if you do it everyday. No thats only based upon 9 maples and 10 maples produce the same number of nests. and ONLY if you do it every X number of days.. the rounding happens at the end.
  3. I like skilling more than combat, no matter how good money combat is or how heavily the game is based around combat. If skilling was to be removed from the game, I would quit for sure. I have to agree. No matter how bad skilling has become since bots took over, skilling is still a key part of the game and shouldn't just be dismissed because some people don't think it's worth anything any more. Well then take the stance that jagex should make sure bots are GONE.. And that botting is never ever something which should even be considered a possitive influence!
  4. Besides it's not even "hard": I can't remember when I bought food or went to find some armour. Also finding rune armour from monsters is much more easily than creating it yourself (and training for the levels). But this isn't the point of the topic, the point to discus was the fairness of bots. And there are people who state "they lower prices and if skillers want money they should just come combat". - But with that attittude I ask the question: why leave skilling in the game? - Why not let jagex create a steady supply of "skilling goods" at the ge and just remove all skilling parts from the game to make the game better?
  5. I'm donig fine with low 90s combat, mediocore gear (rapier, barrows, soul wars).. Normal prayers & no extremes/super antifire.. Earning around 1.5 an hour

  7. when using firefox (or chrome) you'll go to use google as search engine when typing it in your address bar: so if you just type "runescape" and press enter you're likely to show up on the google trends. (though not if it is still in your history) Google trends isn't made to count hits on a site: however it gives a good indicate of NEW people coming to the site.. But isn't that something we already know for a long time? - Runescape IS slowly dieing, it's like a person of 55 years old: still capable of doing everything but starting to see some problems of age!
  8. Have you tried league of legends actually? While perfect balance is never achievable, the differences between different setups are so small there the personal experience (and the differences are often changed/swapped/removed faster than you can gain experience) is much more important, and then even personal experience of like 6 more games! - So any "setup" is balanced for a person whose play style it fits.. (Do you like fighting from distance, safe behind lines but bombarding oponents with huge damage - or standing in the middle? - do you prefer low AoE over high single targets? do you prefer superior dps over "nuke" to specifically remove 1 or 2 opponents before they can start hurting? - Do you prefer supporting your own team mates so they're much safe, don't die and deal extra damage?) Really those questions CAN apply to a game like runescape too: I hoped with coming of rings they would come too. But as I said: a "bank" can help creating some kind of differation.. Also I don't think the 2hander is overpowered too much (alright maybe a little bit, but still primal b axe is a good substitude, and can't the spear also be used still?). The biggest overpowered item in dungeoneering is the SSH: everyone and his grand child will bind that thing as second bind if they get it. And it's truly amazing. - What a good update would be is to either release more "special" headgear (ie something which reduced all damage by 33%, something which gives you 20% bonus damage), and at the same tiem increasing all monsters strength by like 25%. Or simply reduce the effectiveness of the SSH, keep it's unique value ("scouting" I'd call this in a generic game sense) but give it some negative attributes: -10 to all defense and -5 to all attack stats or something?
  9. problem with rimmington tele is that I have to know how many times I'll go there :P - but doesn't slayer gem fairy ring beat both?
  10. I've taken my whip quite a few times, and I didn't notice a "real" difference with the zamorakian spear.. (well I did indeed notice the difference, but it wasn't as much as "don't bother", probably a 10-20% loss in kill speed).
  11. what's the fun about combat? - It's also clicking a lot.. What I love about skilling is the relaxed circumstances & minicompetitions you can have... As well as the steady satisfaction of seeing your cash pile slowly grow. Also the idea: "wew I can do X which only so many people can do" is gone, there is nothing to be gained from skilling which helps other things. Previously one could say: "wow I can make my own rune platebody, there is no other way to get this so this is amazing and it's the best item". For me personally the latter was the biggest fun I had in skilling: being able to unlock completely new content which isn't possible to achieve in other ways! All that is destroyed by bots: no one talks anymore, the atmosphere around yew trees is not relaxed (you have to be very fast or bots have the tree down before you get a log), competing versus a bot gives no satisfaction whatsoever (wow I beat a bot to this ore, now was this a MMO game again or was it single player with an online highscore table?).. The steady cashflow has been reduced, to almost -or below- 0, so there's no long term satisfaction. All items gained by skilling are gained in less time (if you also count the time leveling) by monster hunting.. In enough quantity you'll probably need. Also do you guys think only in black & white or something? - It's not 1 thing which makes something fun: it's the combination of factors. And if that combination is disturbed it might become boring while the single factors are still gainable.
  12. How is it still 120K an hour if it was 130-150k before nerf and they halved the xp lol? It should be like 70k fish xp/hr now... only half the fishing spots are "nerfed" (though I think THAT is the bug, every spot SHOULD be nerfed).
  13. The reason why most people have SSH + 2H is because it is highly effective. Well then it is obvious: the effectiveness of the SSH + 2h combo has to be reduced! - There should never be a "1 size fits all" kind of binding: this will lead to a monotonous game where everyone looks the same and does teh same actions.. To increase the potential of dungeoneering a system where different people have different (yet equally good) equipment.. Here an extra bind slot might be usefull though (2 binds only give you a small collection of possiblities). Yes I am well aware this is difficult, however it IS possible: in another game I play (league of legends) "items" (heroes + items actually) are constantly tweaked, nerfed or buffed.. Just to make them equally strong. Sure some items seem "useless" as a single item, however it's the combinations.. - And there are endless of them. This is a big thing which is missing in whole runescape, but while whole runescape is too much centred around a few overpowered items: in dungeoneering there is still room for change!

  15. Well ok, then don't look at fishing: let's look at mining, smithing... woodcutting, firemaking, fletching (do I need to go on?).. Those skills have totally lost their purpose: and this brings me back to the main point I tried to make 2 pages back: Cause if you say: "but you should skill for levels".. Well on the game design level if they wanted this to be true (skilling's purpose to only be gaining levels) they could just increase the level cap of combat skills - so you get more levels there. And if you say skilling should be done to have some relaxed fun: well this might be true, but bots are destroying this too: they increase the chance for getting ores, logs etc.. Hence considering above statement one can only conclude that bots -by creating an atmosphere where skilling is only done for levels- are destroying the game to be played as it was planned during the game design phase. And as this is more or less an unwanted effect jagex should take harsh action against bots!
  16. I think creating a "bank" of binds and then being able to choose 2 at start of a dungeon would spice up dungeoneering a bit.. People can really pick roles (instead of the standard, ssh + prome 2h bind 99.9% of the people have)
  17. Thieving was used in the Quest aswell... sure it was, you were "captured". However that really, really is a thin line to incorporate a skill into a quest. - The quest is mainly about the creation of barrelchest armours - and hence the focus should be about smithing, crafting etc.
  18. nothing: it's a part of windows (if you open a window on top of another, you won't be able to interact with windows below it)... Screen marker probably just generates a transparent window (or even makes a screenshot of the background and displays that in it's window). - you can always alt-tab to the "real" runescape window..
  19. Only "stupid" requirement, which has nothing to do with the story-line was the thieving 1... I really dislike when they just plaster requirements on it.. (also I think still the -sideline- isn't integrated in the quest well)
  20. no, what I ment was take a row, and then use a gembag to store the gems (so all gems only take 1 inv spot.. - this would be good if the total value of gems would be 10kish)
  21. You won't waste ur cannonbals as they're still damaging the drags, u might find some on low hp when u come back. Rol is pointless even if you die you can get back in less than 3 minutes. So is duelling ring if you use the banking method i told you. I tried row for maybe like 1k kills and only got worthless gems, you might get lucky though so if you really don't wanna buy a zerker ring a row will just do fine. The cannon does most of the job anyway. well in the ~100k slay xp I got lately I got 2 times the "new" loot (1 time being 150 onyx bolts :P).. Would a row + gembag be worth an inventory spot? (guess this should be tested out)
  22. you really WANT rsi? really flashing is one of the worst things there is.. People were complaining about how "click-click-click" old features (such as bones offering etc) were, and how much it would create RSI.. Well the difference is that with bones burrying you could create your own tempo, which really helps turn down RSI creation.. When you have to go through such a repeated thing as flashing a prayer (which has to be precise in 0.6 seconds) it's just asking for troubles at a later age. I already have a mild form of RSI (can't do things such as hunter or firemaking more than 10 minutes before I have to stop) and I rather not increase this.
  23. mmk, I'll check them out.. leaving cannon there seems normal (what about cballs wasted?) is a ring of wealth beneficial down there? (I rather take a ring of life/duel ring than a zerker - and I gave up on imbued rings after noticing the horrible interface of ma)
  24. Hi there, I'm in dire need of some good hard cash.. Need to get my buyables "up". I tried doing tds, but failed too much (killed around 50 without a drop and barelly stayed equal in terms of money). So I am looking at frost dragons now. This is what I DO have: -combat skills around 93. -prayer 83 -summon 84 (87.5 banked) -herblore 75 -Basic slayer gear (chaotic rapier, barrows stuff, glory, row, all kinds of bolts) -cannon with 10k cannonballs -30M coins So first of all, can I do frost dragons and expect at least an average profit of 1.5m? Secondly, how would I go about it, I think fairy rings are closest to the dungeon.. But how should I bank stuff? - leave cannon there (in cavern while banking)? take cannon with me? What pots should I take (amounts)? Brewing + sup. restores or simply food?
  25. Can someone enlighten me: but what did that underwater dungeon have to do with the whole story/theme? - It seems like a filler action which we had to do there..
