If such a thing as "royal wedding" happens I demand the same thing for my wedding! As I'm equal to the people who are on a throne, both we have done nothing! IF you celebrate something, celebrate people who are actually beneficial for humanity, not people who simply sit down and get their whole lives payed out! Celebrate the nobel prices, celebrate the "Tiananmen-protest" on the 4th of july.. THOSE are important thigns, not that some person in some country married, what importance has that? -

@sir squab: Other games have XP-penalties (diablo standard mode).. Or if you die you loose potential reward (most MMO's focussed around dungeon crawling). Now I ask again: what does runescape give when you die? 60 seconds needed to return back to your grave? Wow that's so bad -.-. This promotes a playstyle where people don't care about death, and hence the "top end" items will get even more popular (as there is literary no reason not to use it). And if you die when you're new: what do you loose now really? A day's worth of gathering items? - I lost much more by doing nothing for a week. And if someone can't "handle" this loss, do we as a community want those people? - I wouldn't, it means someone is either very protective of his own goods (and hence won't help others unless they get a monetary reward) or has a too weak mindset to put negative experience into a possitive action. Both the type of people I generally tend to avoid. Maybe the update is aimed at the very first few players: but it affects everyone! -

Why is that a good thing? Do we need bandwagon jumping stupid lemmings? - People will die yes, but they'll learn from taht! Why have hp & life if death doesn't matter? -
Well with a bunyip I hardly ever die.. Only happened once in like 5 tasks of them. I just want to say: taking a water tiara, or even waterskins isn't worth the efford!

RuneScape Death Mechanics - Let's speculate
pulli23 replied to Assume Nothing's topic in General Discussion
can't you get kc in 15 mins? -
you have 15 minutes to walk back should you die. Walking from lumbridge probably can be done within a minute... Why bother with healing at all? Just let yourself die if you have to. Maximize offensive items!

april fools has been funny already

 Can you pull 5 millions girls on Twitter though? what does that mean? Heck I didn't know who this guy was, thought it was some admins avatar or something. But seeing as it's just a guy who's currently popular doesn't help the case, where's the originality? But it's an ugly cursor as it's missting the connection between body of the cursor and the point, meaning you'll misclick way to often when just having half a look at the screen! My point is however: 1 april fools joke is fun.. 2nd is "meh", 3rd becomes bothersome.. But the whole frickin day see every site making it's "compulsory" joke is getting annoying. -
You are so wrong, very many articles are locked for editing unless you are working with the subject, this applies to the most common and complete articles. I don't know what you base your facts on? Teachers? Wikipedia? This topic should be splitted: But really if you want to be taken any serious when performing science, you'll never ever use wikipedia as source. For the orienting phase you'll look into simplistic files such as articles of nature/science/scientific american.. More in depth analyse you'll have to contact people, and read books... Nowhere you sould ever take a source such as wikipedia. Wikipedia doesn't host original research (and you'll always have to use original research), it is editable by anyone (maybe not specific pages, but the whole idea makes wikipedia not credible) and correct views are often edited OUT. (Have seen at least 3-4 times where repeatedly correct things are added out to make space for the generic consensus, even under the call of "no original research"..) Only thing one might use wikipedia for is to search reliable sources. (Sadly those are always at the bottom of the page, behind all unimportant stuff). Or to have some relaxed time reading.

I wish you'd loose everything: including bank! I mean a death is a death, you should actually start over! Like in diablo hardcore mode (which I play a lot ESPECIALLY for the death system where your account is wiped upon death). -
Well this is very annoying, not even funny anymore.. The fact you change the mouse button for a single login might be good.. Howeve it's annoying when it takes up unneccessary resources, makes clicking harder, you can't find your mouse anymore and it's downright ugly.. An april fools joke is good if people who "find" it can ignore it: not when you discover the joke you ahve to sit through it.

WHAT THE HELL? is this a second april's fools? Really why make it even LESS bad to die? It is already amazingly stupid if you die, and you can get 99% of the time back in time with ease.. (And the other 1% you often go with teams) It always makes me laugh at the rage when Jagex change death mechanics. For a forum that constantly makes comparisons between Rs and WoW why doesn't anyone make mention of the fact that you lose nothing when you die in WoW? Also, the only people this really affects are lurers, I'll never understand why people want to lose all their stuff on death, unless you like to self harm. because the fact you DID loose everything, and the fact you lost everything made the game have it's perfect mechanics (where expensive items weren't always required, as it was just too tricky).. I hoped that would come with free trade too.. But sadly they don't see many (from my friends, about half the people who played rs played rs for that reason) people like THAT. -

Anyone with a decent rate of gp/hour shouldn't use anything but the demon butler. Not entirely true. When I was training my construction using Oak Dungeon Doors, I found the normal butler had a perfect speed. I could make and destroy two oak doors, and at that moment he'd return with another set of planks for me to do it again. well if you really time it, it's about 1 tick slow to perfect speed :P.. However last time I checked it, buttler returning ment also that your interface screwed and you had to click way more!

yo failz0rs at maths (statement is correct though)... $ x * 2 + x * 2 = 2 ( x * 2) = 4 * x$ Correct mathematical description $EXP = base * (1 + MUL1 + MUL2)$ Where MUL1 and MUL2 are the multiplies for horn & stealing creation (both "1" in this case).

No you didn't misquote, the forum software indeed helps you there.... However the reply took the quote totally out of context. - What I said was in reply towards the fact that some people in this thread suggested bots weren't bad, and that skillers shouldn't expect anything in return (basically just "drop"). I'll say this once again (growing tired of repeating the same statement): IF you say this, then why are those items a reward from skilling? - Jagex could just not give those items and give a steady supply of items coming into the ge!

u should stab the person that was the last one to end the floor. If u ended the floor last, then GF. I have to admit I loll'd. I am going to give the recording a shot, even though the fastest floor I could probably key on vid would me 27 minutes. Well I guess that's still decent since none of the pro's can vid? :P Well even looking at grimiys times (which he probably keyed with also very experienced other people) 27 mins is quite good. Certainly better than my key average (floors I keyed were all between 40-60 mins) -
quoted for right justice :P (when time approaches infinite you'll get ~0.546 nest per worker per day).. Also remember: the big money are the NESTS not the logs, nor the seeds. (at least that was when I last checked -6 months ago-). The profits (and what is best) shift every week or so.. - I wrote a spreadsheet with a macro to automatically update the prices & calculates exact profit (taking into account the rounding, time between topping rating etc etc). This topic has indeed covered all good options (though last time I opened the spread sheet also herblore was amazing).

Yeah, try killing monsters that drop rune armor without any weapons above mithril and full steel armor with no food, pots or familiars. That may be your opinion, but I hate training combat and love skilling, If they removed skilling then many people would quit the game including me and many other people that I know. As I said already multiple times in this thread, the line of thought I gave here was when thinking in the stance: "bots aren't bad, they give supplies which would otherwise be tiresome to get, and those who skill shouldn't expect decent money and go MHing instead". - I was giving the consequence of that mindset. You may or may not have that mindset, however IF you have you have to be consistent and also agree that those supplies (which you said bots were beneficial to the community and shouldn't be gathered by legitimate players for profit anyways) can be removed from the game and jagex could just replace those resources with a "steady supply in the ge". Then stop taking my post out of context! - I know reading post before my post can be tiresome, but if you quote please do so: I hardly post my statement out of nowhere!

pre-april fools warnings are really, really annoying & spoil the fun.

 Anyway, quest requirements aren't too steep but ok, drop is uncommon I would say. Bit more common than say whip. Also helps to fight the crabs with the 'dragon rapier', as it seems to hit them much better than whip. It's never taken me six hours to get a whip. I think I get a whip every couple hours or so. (Of course, abbys are easy to slaughter, and I've not tried these crabs yet.) they're very similar to kill as abbys (maybe a bit more though). Only you can't use a summon. Id say the drops are almost like those of the abbyssal demons whip.. 6 hours definatelly is an excess (as is multiple in an hour)

Maybe a suggestion: add the rank "promising key-student" or something :P.. For those below 100 yet very good keyers. (Or above 100 still wanting to gain a bit more experience). -
with dgs I get around 80k/40 mins on average.. - that's 120k xp per hour @ lv 90.. Considering the time to do low floor rushes, find team, and get levels to gain prestige: averaging at 75K / hour between 0-92.. so 90-100 hours? Solo the rate is around 30-50k xp hourly.

You know what I HATE more than anything in this game?
pulli23 replied to TheGreatGeno's topic in Rants
If there isnt one now there sure as hell wasnt one then. 06 - still had the doom sayers that flooded the game and forums saying "RS sucks now, this games going to die soon, etc." Still had lurers, bots and scammers everywhere. It DID had personal trading but DIDNT have clan chat (I think clan chat brough as much community as the GE destroyed). RS is teh same as it was then, just with more skills and quests and better graphics. Oh and back in 06 it was all the rage to talk about how "miniclippers" are immature and destroyed the social fabric of runescape actually I feel clan chat has destroyed the communitie a lot.. No longer you'll get into a random talk with strangers, and no longer you'll easily meet new people while mining/fishing/skilling.. People are always busy in "their" clanchat! -
Yes, but it's also quality-checked by everyone as well, perhaps not as quickly as say wikipedia, but still. You trust wikipedia?
