  1. Not entirely true. An agnostic person believes it is impossible to prove whether or not a god exists, and believes either option is possible. If I believe it is possible a god exists, that doesn't make me an atheist. I just also happen to believe it's possible there is no god. Neither side can be proven, so I'm still going to hope there's more to life than our brief existence here, while fully acknowledging odds are there's no more to life than just a biological coincidence. Because there's no proven chance it will help, outside of a placebo effect. Why not rub beads and wish instead? You'll get pretty much the same result as prayer. You're assuming there is no god and therefore prayer has no use. Randomly wishing is different than praying in that you're not directing thoughts to a god. You obviously can't prove prayer works, but it's kind of insulting to compare it to random actions that aren't comparable at all to prayer to those that do pray.
  2. I don't know, religious debate aside, if you break it down and really need something in life, prayer can only help. The atheist assumes there is no god, but the agnostic can only hope for the best and pray. I know that's a weird way to look at it, and not how I personally justify prayer (I haven't in awhile, but on occasion do), but many atheists tend to break things down in a logical way like that, so why not go for it if it doesn't hurt and there's a chance it will help?
  3. I'm a big fan. I just love their sound. I used "Daylight" in some youtube video I helped my brother made recently. And whenever promos for Community play, "Good ol fashioned nightmare" gets stuck in my head.
  4. Anyone remember the 'Rares stall" April fools we did? I Photoshopped a stall in ardougne with rares on it and posted it as a fake update jagex pulled. Reasoning was jagex decided they were unfair advantages and wanted to give them out for free to be in the spirit of the game. Then we had some good ones done by the TIF staff. My favorite was the fake staff board. You guys actually got me with that one for awhile. :P
  5. I don't think it will be based off played time either, because in other interviews jagex stated they wanted it to be a more casual game for older more busy players who don't necessarily have the time to grind. That's what I'm hoping for, and this xp-less based system is even more interesting.
  6. Probably even earlier than that. If I remember, that's the default date for all accounts set earlier than that.
  7. I wouldn't say so. It's clear from how people post whether they're listing their oldest memories to prove they've been around (kind of sounds like the topic of the title). But most people are just posting their favorite memories without any regard to how long ago it was. @stevepole: Similar thing happened to me. With the earlier drops though, they were based off UK time. So I logged on after dinner in the US on Easter, and all the drops were finished for the day. I was pretty bummed.
  8. There are so many things, I'll only be able to scratch the surface. The hours spent merchanting, the ups and downs of it all. Until it culminated for me during the dupe where I turned a dragon medium (worth a hefty 2.1mil at the time) and a mask set into 3 party hats, which sustained me money-wise for the rest of my playing. I loved all the bugs I would discover during quests. Walking off the map into the far west side of the wildy that technically wasn't part of the wild and holding a drop party there was great. My time with the TET was amazing, I really enjoyed the 300 war I hosted, among other things. Working on the bestiary as crew here was fun too. Loved logging on for the update and adding all the new monsters while questing. During the summer, being able to log on in the morning and do whatever quest came out the day of. Getting those new items and ridiculously color coordinating them with the rest of my wardrobe in an excessively tacky manner. Especially racing to get the most xp when new quests came out. Late rs1/early rs2 pking. And rs2 beta was great, glitches and everything. Gnome-ball pk'ing was amazing. For those that don't know, you could hit several hit bubbles per second. We would gang up on the KBD and kill it within seconds after it spawned. And pk'ing in Corruption was fun too. Lot's of memories pk'ing with them. The clan I made myself, The Elite Fellowship, was a great time too. Being able to freely trade items around with friends, and merchanting without restriction. Always was fun lending party hats around to close rl friends. The few merchanting forums I ran with Duke Freedom were a blast as well, as was the editorial team we ran on runehead that was then transferred here. And can't forget the friends I've made playing. Nothing tops those memories.
  9. I'm totally a Nintendo fanboy. While I've owned a Dreamcast and Xbox, that doesn't compare to the amount of Nintendo consoles I own. Lately I only buy games made by Nintendo for the wii (mostly because everything else, with few exceptions, is junk). They did a good job creating franchises that just pull me in unlike anything other company created.
  10. So is it actually good? It's still kind of gimmicky like wii sports, but there's something for everyone. You can play with your friends/family casually or take the hardcore gamer route and go for the goals (often which the only reward is getting a stamp) obsessively. Either way, I'm having a good time with it. And the newer controls finally showcase what the controller is supposed to be like, three years later. But it might just be because I haven't played a new wii game in over a year that I'm enjoying it so much, tough to know, lol.
  11. Was for me too. And now I'm addicted to it. They just had to add stamps where you reach insane goals for each sport, and because of my Obsessive Completion Distinction (OCD), I just have to get em all. :P
  12. When funorb came out there was a big push from some users to make a forum for it, but at the end the general consensus was that it just wasn't needed because there really wasn't enough to talk about. I think instead there was a sticky or a few threads in the video game discussion board about it.
  13. Yeah, one motion plus comes with it. $20-$25 for each additional one.
  14. Then be thankful that image is photoshopped and lotus breast doesn't exist, check snopes.
  15. It just couldn't be done right before, but now we'll be seeing some good sword/saber games with WM+. Red Steel 2 is on its way, and we can expect some star wars games.
  16. WSR is enough of a standalone game to not consider it a WM+ demo. I got it on the release day, and have been loving it. There's plenty of games, really one for everyone. It's your standard wii sports style of playing, so if you're a real serious hardcore gamer who won't even touch a non-fps shooter, it's not for you, but it's a nice casual game you can enjoy with friends. The only problem is to really enjoy playing with friends you'll need a second (or third, fourth) device and each are about 20 bucks. I have the one that came with it and have a good enough time just switching off with the family trying to beat each other's scores in different games, but having a second device would be a lot more fun, as there are a few exclusively two player games. All in all, if you enjoyed wii sports in the slightest, you'll have fun with wii sports resort.
  17. On one hand in theory I have a hard time just denying a subforum if people really want it and it will be used, but where do you draw the line in what TIF is for? It's really not a blogging service and we have a thread for micro-blogging and posting links to blogs. But still, if there are people out there who would like to read it, maybe we should just create the subforum. I wouldn't ever go out of my way to read blogscape or forum games, but a lot of people love them, so who are we to say just because 14-year old blogs are mind-numbingly boring to us, others won't enjoy them? I think the best course of action is to either just make personal blogs against the rules and allocate them to one sticky, or give them their subforum. If it turns out to be too much modding work for its worth due to the sensitivities people have about comments on their blog, we could just close it for that reason. I gotta say I hate the idea of acknowledging the worth of such blogs here by giving them their own subforum, but it doesn't seem fair to not allow them just because a lot of us don't like them. Tough call.
  18. Apparently the reason isn't censorship, but because DDOS attacks through AT&T's servers were killing bandwidth.
  19. In a huge blow to net neutrality, AT&T censored/blocked areas of 4chan: http://digg.com/d3yfYE
  20. Sorry, hope you had your moment, but I'm locking as spam. Use the introductions thread: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=583381 If you want to make a thread talking about prior days of OT, go ahead, but have some substance in it.
  21. Oh my...I didnt even knew I had pictures index. Please get pid of both of thoses pictures (They are like 4+ years old  ) and replace it with this one. Again thank you No problem, done and done.
  22. Sure, but since you have 2/2 pictures indexed already, would you like the new picture to replace A or B?
  23. Regardless of who is right, let's end the personal attacks now and get back on topic if you don't want the thread to end up locked.
  24. Hah, good times with that game, especially with the pikachu pedometer addon. It was like a tomagatchi if I remember? Then you would synch it with the gameboy color through the IR port. I'd love to get the new one, but I really still have to think about it. I hate having that obsessive need to recapture hundreds of pokemon for the 5th time.
  25. Thanks everyone. :) I figured since I've been tet, crew, and editorial ... why not. :P I promise I won't go overboard with the new shiny buttons. Congrats to you other trainees too.
