I fully disagree. While I don't remember the board ever being that conservative in 2004, just because your viewpoint is a minority view doesn't mean that you should feel like your opinion doesn't count. If you feel you're right about something, your voice is just as loud here as others. That's the great thing about this forum - everyone has an equal voice. If we start regulating where and what things can be said, discussion won't really be free anymore. Getting rid of the inappropriate explicitness was one thing, but the boards don't need to become even more conservative in what isn't allowed. If you provided enough concrete examples you might sway me, but I just don't see the need.

We just took in a new kitten after my old cat Molly (pictures somewhere) passed away a few months ago. Anyone have any idea what breed it is? The vet said it was a mix but any guesses towards what cats it might be mixed of would be great.

It is true no topic is taboo. It depends on which angle you take it from though. If you're talking about your own ridiculous escapades, the topic will get locked because of how people will describe explicit inappropriate events in detail. However, if the same topic, addressed as an issue, from a different angle than listing your stories was made, I think it would be acceptable. It all comes down to whether or not discussion is explicit description or debate. Then it's up to the mods' discretion whether or not the topic can continue on a mature adult level of discussion.

I love psychology, enough to plan on going to med school to become a psychiatrist. I took regular psychology and was interested in it enough to learn it well enough that I decided to take the AP test anyways and got a 4. There haven't been many other classes I've done as well in. Psychology just comes natural to me. I feel like I've known everything described in the book and that I just have to learn the name of it. As for "real" sciences - I can only really take biology til things just start getting too dry for me. @DaN - I've read that book by Dr. Lieberman. Definitely interesting and very applicable.

I wear jeans every day in the winter when it's too cold for shorts. They're not the most comfortable thing to wear, and I think this diagram sums up my feelings on them.

Nintendo/Sega was a pretty interesting rivalry. Right now sony seems to be competing more with microsoft though, with Nintendo aiming for a different audience.

A clan makes a separate forum for a reason. They have private information that they don't want other clans to know about. Making separate boards just so people can speak in another language just doesn't seem necessary. This is an english site, and an english board. It just seems like you guys want to do this for the sake of doing it, if that makes any sense.

I think people need to realize that the Angels board was a special occasion made awhile back and really only has its relevance back then. Having boards for separate languages now just doesn't seem necessary, and we don't have the same environment we did back then to even facilitate such a board. Dutch was common to a group of early RS-players, and a good percentage of RS-er's were dutch that were either well known or mods on these boards. We just don't have that kind of situation for a different language now. It's not about "oh this language has a board, now every language should have a board to be fair to everyone" - it was just an inside group that wanted a board that revolved around something in common more than just a shared language, and I don't think other language groups would come close to having that now.

Is there anything going on in your life that's messing your sleep up? I'd try to minimize any internal dialogue going on your head though. I find it's better to try to just not focus on anything rather than counting sheep. Once you aren't aware your thoughts are hurting you from falling asleep you can fall asleep easier. Counting sheep and stuff just intensifies that frustration. If you can't not think, just synch the thoughts "in....out....in...out" with your breathing or something. You're better off not paying attention to your internal dialogue though.

Who even said as of now they're not allowed? Either way, like Phil said, why would you make a walkthrough for this forum?

Do we really need more subforums? If we were to add one, I don't think it should belong in the marketplace forums. But I don't see marketplace discussion as a separate part of general discussion. That's like saying we should separate discussion about skilling too. You can separate it, but why? The economy is just as important to skills to many people, and are both parts of the game. Couldn't it just be a phase too? Either way, those types of topics usually die down quickly.

Why are we discussing this in such detail? Why do we need a film/videogame/tv show rating so badly? Can't we just have a basic policy stating content unsuitable for minors is not allowed? This all seems so over the top to me, and on a forum with such over-analytical people, like Bari said, this just confuses them because they want everything to make perfect logical sense. Let's stop referencing things with ratings so we can stop confusing people.

I think the "I got scammed" sticky can be removed too now, since scamming (as far as I know, I haven't played in a year) can't really occur anymore. But if it can, I think it should stay just because every person who does get scammed feels the need to make a thread about it otherwise.

Doesn't prohibition basically exist for 18-20 year olds? Those who obtain it illegally pay a lot more for worse quality. You took the wrong direction with where I was going. I don't mean if it's illegal for 18-20 YO's then it should be illegal for everyone else. I'm saying if it's legal for everyone above 21, and the only reason it is illegal for 18-20 because of fatalities, that doesn't seem to be the reason to ban it for the age group. Any age group that is allowed to drink alcohol will have increased fatalities, that's a given. The question is, at which age are they responsible for their own actions?

I'd like anyone who is against the idea to recognize this point I'm about to bring up. Sure you keep citing statistics that once the drinking age was lowered to 18, fatalities went down. But why stop there? Why not just enforce prohibition again? With that logic, if it were outlawed, there would be plenty less fatalities. I think you should be debating whether or not alcohol should be legal in general, not just for a certain age group if that's the best argument you can come up with.

If you're taking a portion of the fish they worked for, I'd say it's morally wrong.

On a less extravagant level, I actually agree with DVD. There's never a need to limit discussion in any way. TIF went through a stage a ways back when every large topic was turned into a sticky and it just didn't work too well for the forums. It'll be an exciting time for rs players I'd imagine, so there's no reason to contain it all into one thread. There are always a lot of different elements and effects of every update, and aside from the main update thread that discussion is normally held on, if people want to have discussions about certain elements of an update, more power to them.

This asinine "what constitutes G-ratings" idea just won't go away ever since OT changed its policy on inappropriate threads. Instead of trying to define what's G-rated, why not just remove wherever it's written that the forums are G-rated in the first place? So many people are getting worked up about semantics here. Instead just draw one simple line. Content is either suitable or unsuitable for minors. If it's unsuitable for minors, it's not allowed here. Tip it isn't a movie. Get rid of wherever the "G-rating" name came from. It only confuses people and leads to really dumb discussions.

What I mean is even one night where you decide to be lazy and just play rs versus going out with friends is one too much. If you're tired that's one thing, but the 3+ hours a day people play this game is too much in my opinion. Even compromising the middle way isn't a great idea. If you've got downtime that's one thing, but runescape and other MMORPG's just are bad ideas to get into. I'm pretty glad I finally expired my membership this summer. I have a lot more real memories than I would have if I played that much rs. I did miss out on a lot of cool graphical improvements and updates, but everyone has to stop playing sometime.

If you have to ask to be my friend, you're not really my friend. If I like a person we'll add each other eventually, then it's kind of a given after we've talked enough we're friends. But normally I'll just talk via pm's to be polite and remove the person after a week. It never used to be like that, but when your list is full, you can't add everyone who wants to be your friend after knowing you for five minutes.
