Happy birthday. My big thing when I turned 17, besides seeing R-rated movies, was being able to drive past midnight. Whenever I drove home past midnight, I hated worrying about police. You don't mean you turned 17 this july 4th do you?

Guess This Kid Really Wanted To Play His Nintendo Wii....
Adam007 replied to Da Pirates's topic in Off-Topic
Yeah, I'm really not sure anymore. I just read that after 6 minutes without oxygen the brain dies. Somehow they must have been quick enough to have started the kids heart again and later determined there to be too little brain activity. We need trapical here right about now. Edit: Looks like it could have been a number of things he died from - not necessarily suffocation. -
Guess This Kid Really Wanted To Play His Nintendo Wii....
Adam007 replied to Da Pirates's topic in Off-Topic
It could have been an issue of brain damage from the hanging. He may have technically been alive for two days, but kept on life support. Why so critical on hospitals? I've heard some hospitals cost, like, $10,000 a night, and the fact that so many people get injured so often that makes me mad because some people cant afford insurance and they have to pay so much just to save someone. And if someone hasn't been breathing for like, 4 minutes, doesn't that mean they suffocate? And how do you breathe if you're dead? Health insurance is a mess, but doctors still have to make money. I might think otherwise if they didn't have to spend half a million dollars and a decade of their life working to become a doctor. I'm not exactly how resuscitation works, but people can be brought back to life in those cases. The problem is when you go for that long without oxygen to the brain, a lot of the brain dies, so there's no reason keeping the body alive. -

Tantrum might not be the best word, but teens can be extremely moody and make similar emotionally charged irrational decisions. -

That's sad, but I wouldn't summarize it the way you did in the title. Kids can make stupid decisions about anything. There's always more to it, and that was probably the thing that sent the kid into a tantrum where he wasn't thinking and accidentally killed himself. -
As frustrating as it is, the more doors and bridges they have leading to nowhere, they likelier people will keep subscribing. If someone likes one quest and jagex promises an eventual sequel, then the guy is more likely to keep paying for members.

In the past, if you searched for your forum name, it would bring up results where you were quoted in. It searched inside that code, but now it doesn't. This helped find people who addressed you personally that you might have missed if you didn't have the time to read every thread you replied to. Is there any way to change how the search works in that way? Also, the search seems to only search through threads made after the reboot of TIF. It's not that important, but is there any reason it doesn't search old results too? There are a lot of old threads I'd like to search for but can't.

I've been pumped up for this movie ever since I saw the release of the first trailer. I loved the first remake, and I'm expecting great things from this movie.

Anyone seen it yet? I just got back from a vacation and hadn't had the chance yet, but I've heard it's great. It's already #20 (probably will fall a bit) on the IMDB 250. On rottentomaotoes it has a 96%. Pixar movies are usually incredible, but this movie seems like it might take even another step up. Anyone seen it yet and have any comments?

Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
Adam007 replied to benar's topic in General Discussion
Who says they intend to fix them? If you think about it, this is an ideal situation for jagex in terms of the economy. Items that have been useless to us but jagex wanted to become valuable now have value. Rares are untradable. They have complete control over the economy. Hasn't jagex wanted this all along? Has jagex even addressed the issue anywhere? We're assuming they see it as a problem, but maybe our problem is their solution. -
"Oil" and "future" are almost oxymorons. Technology should be at the state where we don't have to get energy from underground. We just need a catalyst for a lot of alternative energy research. And it looks like that may be happening.

Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
Adam007 replied to benar's topic in General Discussion
Junk trading isn't the problem. It doesn't need to be removed. The problem is that the GE won't update prices. If it did, junk trading wouldn't exist, and wouldn't need to be 'removed' by jagex. Junk trading isn't the problem. It's the broken GE. -
the boy scouts and atheists/agnostics/deists/homoseuals
Adam007 replied to aspokaspofkjsopfkapo's topic in Off-Topic
Way to contribute. Yoda, I've heard about this before. What I remember reading was that it was kind of a don't ask don't tell policy. If you are any of the above and want to be in boy scouts even if you're aware of their stance, you still can as long as you don't make it public. It's still not the best solution, and I do agree that it's not the best use of public taxes, but is it against the law? -
Minimum skill total to sign up to p2p.
Adam007 replied to 123Yourgone's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
What kind of business sense does it make for a company not to allow a person to pay for their product? Who's to say that person who wants to pay when they have a 200 skill total will still have interest at 500? While this idea would benefit you, it would be a terrible business decision for jagex. And don't go into that "oh they have enough money" routine. That's just illogical. -
Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
Adam007 replied to benar's topic in General Discussion
This is the attitude I'm confused about. People think the issue is whether or not junk trading is ok. Of course it's ok to do. The situation with the GE forces it. Otherwise trade is impossible. The real issue is over jagex's stance and lack of action on it. It's been established that we have to junk trade for many things because of the ge. Let's move beyond that discussion and focus on the bigger picture. -
I'm not really looking forward to it. You're not really loaning an item like you used to. Back when you lent someone a party hat, that was loaning an item. Now you're using a system that has no risk where people spam you to let them artificially hold on to something for a period of time. Anyway, not looking forward to it. Because of my level, people will see my party hats now, and instead of congratulating me, will accuse me of not really owning them. If we can loan rares, we should be able to loan things like skill capes. Both are achievements. If one achievement is devalued, why not do the same to all? I wouldn't mind if it worked like the assist system where you have to be near a person to "loan" their skill. But if it's how I'm imagining it, it'll be a blow to rare item owners.

Here's a favorite of mine to watch. About a half hour of cartoon intro's from the 90's. Set away some time to watch it - it's a good trip down memory lane. QmcKGcKW76M (thanks foddler)

You don't need money. You want all that stuff but you don't need any of it. I don't mean to condescend - it just bothers me when people say they need money for things they want. You'll probably need a lot more for that iphone if you're going through AT&T. they bumped the monthly plan to $30 a month. As for how to get it, there are plenty of jobs at that age. Just take some initiative and get looking.

Here's a cool thing to try. Save the standard .png files you see posted (or send someone else yours). Then click and drag the file into the spore creature editor and you'll have that one. The creature's data is embedded into the picture. Try this one: :P You can find a lot more on the spore site or other forums.

Does Jagex Have Any Reason to Stop Junk Trading?
Adam007 replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
Then why are you making a topic about Junk Trading if you're real concern is towards the Grand Exchange and the economy. They all go together. Junk trading as a result of the grand exchange is ruining aspects of the economy. -
Does Jagex Have Any Reason to Stop Junk Trading?
Adam007 replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
Did you get here after the GE was introduced? Without it, maybe, prices would just be whatever people wanted to pay? RWT was a problem, but as it is, the GE is no solution. I'm not saying to get rid of the GE - just that it needs to be tweaked. It could be a great system, but there are too many things right now that aren't working. If jagex created a system that led to junk trading, they can fix junk trading. They can change the system to lower or raise prices based on offers, not completed trades for one. But you're missing the point! Who cares if junk trading is against the rules or not? They need to stop it not because of rules, but because it's ruining trading! There's nothing wrong with offering junk to someone, but people should have a choice if they want to sell their items for junk or cash. If you had half a brain the you would see that I joined in 2006, before the Grand Exchange came into effect. Free trading is not coming back. We will never have the chance to trade freely and set our prices on items due to Real World Traders. Once again, Junk Trading cannot be controlled by JAGeX. They did not plan it to be what it become. If they decided to stop it then the only solution would be to sell items for cash only, which is unrealistic, which is something you would have to agree with. And in your last paragraph you are making little sense. You say that they need to stop it but then you say players should have a choice on how to trade. Out of curiosity, what is your idea to stop Junk Trading. Considering it is your topic and I gave my idea, then I think it is more than reasonable to ask for yours. Lay off the flaming, alright? I never said I wanted free trade back - just that the GE needs to be tweaked. Also I didn't say I wanted jagex to end the option of junk trading. They need to fix the grand exchange so it updates prices correctly so people can trade in junk or cash. Not be restricted to being forced to use junk almost exclusively for many trades. -

Does Jagex Have Any Reason to Stop Junk Trading?
Adam007 replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
They shouldn't have even introduced the GE in the first place if that's really the case. If they're purposely ignoring this problem and letting junk correct prices for them because they're incapable themselves, the GE never should have been made.
