A lot of online kid games work this way. Then they could get rid of the 13 year old rule, and open the magnificent new game up for everyone!

You know, I made a thread exactly like this, and even as I wrote it I thought it was to ridiculous to come true. I described how the only way they could fix problems would be getting rid of the ability to drop items and trade (and don't think that hasn't been removed). I was completely joking around because it just sounded so ridiculous, so who knows. This sounds crazy, but jagex has made their priorities clear. I wouldn't rule anything out.

Can you honestly say that you have as much fun at a runescape drop party as a real life party with friends? Even if you find them comparable, runescape memories don't last compared to memories with real life. When I think about the time I spent on rs, I don't have much to remember really. And since life comes down to creating memorable times, I just don't see rs as a good use of time. It's comparable to watching TV. It's just a stream of passive immersion that's fun to pass the time with, and sure it's fun, but I can't even compare the highlights of my life to time spent on runescape. I can't see how anyone can unless you have that much of an uneventful life.

my thoughts exactly, i figured he probably worked hard in class knowing his time on RS would be much more fun, and thus time management skills were developed it seems. that is just a thought. god knows why your having this "issue". if perhaps you wanted to test this theory, try playing again? Or replace rs with a new constructive thing that takes up a similar amount of time. Just anything to keep busy so you don't have a ton of empty space where you end up doing nothing for an even greater amount of time.

Sounds like the only way it could have benefited your life would be indirectly, so my guess is that playing runescape structured your time somehow. Now that you've got extra time, you aren't properly managing it. That would be my only guess, because it just doesn't make any sense that the actual playing of that game would have any intellectual benefit, and if you imagine it to do so, you're creating a terrible placebo to live with.

They will still be worth allot, they just wont be merchantable for more than 3k a trade now so merchants have given up trying to merchant them so now only the people who want them are buying and the demand has gone down. Simple supply and demand. Using the GE some items like blue party hats for example will have up to 50mil price ranges, so I don't get why people think you won't be able to merchant rares anymore.

That's a faulty assumption, based on an even more faulty assumption. We don't know what reasons people own rares percentagewise, and why do you think that you can't profit off rares anymore? That's just plain wrong. If anything, people would be unloading now because of all the hats sold for cash at once from people jumping ship at the same time, and now people are unloading rares for cash. There are people selling now thinking prices might hit rock bottom soon, but there's no reason one shouldn't be able to profit off of rares anymore. A 5% range on expensive rares is still enough to make a huge profit.

I know, right? I almost feel that if he was running as a Democrat, he would be way ahead of everyone in the party. But alas, he's a Republican and will not run Independent, which come to think of it, may actually be a showing of how honest he actually is. He's not even willing to distance himself from a party that WILL lose with any other candidate. A party that supports Bush and the war. If he got the nomination, I *WOULD* vote for him. 100 times if I could. The thing about Ron Paul is that he's running with the stances of a traditional republican. The party has changed so much in the past decade, it's nothing like how it used to be. They used to be pro-small government, but obviously things have changed. I'm more of a democrat on most issues and had plan to support Obama, but in Michigan he won't be on the ticket in the primaries(long story), so I might (*shock*) vote republican and go with Ron Paul. There are definitely a few things I don't agree with with Ron Paul, but I'd gladly take him over any other republican and over Hilary.

If he was exactly duplicated, his memory would be duplicated too. So if you were to talk to the original and the copy, they both would claim to be the original. The true original probably died though. Memory didn't change, but consciousness did. There's a lot of different theories though, anyone will tell you something about that movie.

In the GE they can fluctuate 5% - that's only in trades. There's a lot of leeway in change for big rares. And to the thread's creator: You might want to make your title a little less crazy. At least add a question mark. The reason rares are lowering in price is because people like you are freaking out and scaring other people into selling their rares with stupid rumors like that.

Post it on the media board and ask for some help with people who can sharpen it or whatever to try to find out what it is?

Why reply? They probably won't change it though. They made the assist system for this reason. Their current stance is that nobody should have to trade another person raw materials for a finished product.

I was thinking the same thing, but think of it like this: The link breaks whenever one of the two accounts logs out, correct? So they'd have to meet every time the account logs out, the game updates, or the servers restart. Well, I'm also sure Jagex would have a system to detect that there's an account that's doing nothing except lending these items to a single character...all day. Edit: Also remember that because of the trading limits, the account has to farm the gold to buy the armor by itself. Lending an item over and over isn't breaking any rule though, technically. So I can't see them having probable cause of banning them unless they detected it was a bot that was keeping the player logged on during the same times the main account was logged on for. And yeah, this is assuming the autoer gets to the point where he makes several mil that he can use the bot at it's next stage, all without getting caught before then.

Most of these updates seem to be on the right track. There's still a lot to do, but this is good news. As for the lending, I'm curious to see how that'll be implemented. I'm glad I'll be able to lend my friend rares again, but now I hope I don't get barraged with people who think I'm obligated to let them borrow a party hat just because the system allows it. I'm going to have to deal with so many stories of why people "need" to "try" wearing party hats. People used to joke about me lending them hats, but now it'll be genuine (annoying) requests. I can also see a form of RWT spring up from that too. People could charge other people cash to borrow an item for a set amount of time they would promise to log on for. There could be a demand for items like party hats or expensive fighting equipment to use for specific things. I'm not sure what the kind of demand there would be for that though. I could see there being trouble if a bot was introduced that kept someone logged in forever though, so people could borrow items indefinitely. Autoers could still get their normal mass gp, then buy a good item. They'd then sell the account with the item to the person and give them the program that would keep the account logged on forever. Then the person essentially bought the mined gp.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if big monster drops like this have changed in price much yet since the update? Seems like something to invest in, assuming jagex doesn't do anything. Either way, I doubt it would be a risky investment. Personally though I do hope they do something with the GE and an item drop, otherwise there's no reason to try for dragon chains the way things are.

Runescape isn't dead. Many elements are to many people, but now it's just a different game. Jagex took a gamble, and they're hoping to profit in the long run from it, which they probably will.

But why should it even be jagex's responsibility in the first place to automate these prices? Can't they just let the general population determine the prices?

Eh, it's ok. If it becomes a problem jagex will make it so you can only log on from one registered computer per account and then we'll all be so happy since RWT is gone. Jagex will always be there to protect us from those evils.
