I say they just bring back Thordur's black hole.

Although everything about our cognizance can be biologically explained without leaving any room for a soul, I still hope we have souls.

I'm unlocking now after removing recent personal attacks. There's no reason for this to get heated or personal again. It's fine if the topic sways slightly as long as it remains about the game, but again, personal arguments will warrant a lock.

Everyone please try to be a little more civil, there's no reason to make personal attacks. Why are we discussing utility? Does the gold piece, the central unit of currency in this game, have any utility? Utility - n - the state or quality of being useful Gold pieces are used for buying items, therefore they are useful. Strawman argument decimated. A party hat can be exchanged for gold pieces to buy items. A party hat represents gold pieces. In terms of use or utility, which in my opinion should not be debated since everything is relative, x gold pieces have less use relative to their party hat equivalent. An actual gold piece(s) is the most useless item in the game if you think about it. But much like a party hat, it's value is not derived from how you can use it, but by what it represents. If the only use of an item is to sell that item, then its a useless item. Once you have a party hat you can't do anything with it other than wait to sell it. What can you do with gold pieces? They are the most useless item in the game. It's their value as currency, much like party hats, which gives them worth. (And aside from that argument, I would like to point out that party hats do have aesthetic value as well as the value in representing wealth)

I dont play Runescape to make money. I prefer having fun. All the money you've earned from Runescape is useless the moment you quit. The fun stays with you forever. Just a little advice, since I was exactly like you when I was a kid ;) Making money and having fun in runescape aren't mutually exclusive last time I checked. Maybe merchanting is radically different now, but I played runescape because I really enjoyed playing the market and making money. But that was back when there was a free market, so maybe things are different now.

It's funny because when it comes to drawing attention party hats used to be like that. I could log in on a f2p server and literally have crowds following me. Now I log on f2p and people don't know what party hats even are. I feel like you'd get less reaction wearing one on a f2p server also just because most people might not know what they are. But party hats no longer are universally known as status symbols.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt at times like it was made to make you feel like you yourself were actually dreaming.

I don't normally care if a thread gets slightly swayed off topic but there's no need to turn a vuvuzela thread into a "WHOAMG FOOTBALL IS BETTER THAN SOCCER I KNOW THIS OBJECTIVELY" debate. Let's all chill out.

Good one!

Quality thread. Good seeing you posting here again, it's been awhile since I last saw that signature. -
Over time you'll get used to your own limits and should probably get a better idea with experience. Plus your tolerance will go up so you shouldn't have much trouble. But if you really want to look cool and impress your friends you should get everyone to take beer shots. Last party I was at I had 10 beer shots and got sooo waaasted man. I'm never having that many beer shots again LOL (to avoid coming off as a troll, I should to say to ignore that :P )

Somebody doesn't know the definition of irony... (irony: of, resembling, relating to, or tasting much like iron)

Obama Administration Announces Massive Piracy Crackdown

It's not whether or not this bill will actually be enforced if passed that bothers me. It's the principle that government has any right to interfere so intrusively. While most likely this may not get passed and if it even does it will not be enforced, I hate the idea of it for the same reason I hated the principle of the patriot act whether or not I was directly affected by it. -

@Mike_Ike111 - Great sig, great movie. I would love to see a graph made of max players over time. It seems for all the time Jagex puts into updates it only seems to retain its numbers and has yet to achieve real growth. -
Player moderators are players first, moderators second.. doesn't mean they need to be on the lookout constantly for things to be moderated >_> Yh not what I meant. Overall I like mods I guess (on a personal level) but their all around usefulness is something I've never seen. I mean yea they can mute people, but they rarely do. Why is this a problem?

Poopingman, you'll have to describe where you go out and what you do. If you're going to bars/clubs, you will not meet any girls if you play the nice guy card. No girl wants to have a conversation with a nice guy who pulls her to the side and just wants to talk and make a friend for the night that might eventually lead its way to something bigger. Girls want excitement, a challenge. You can still be nice, but you have to be fun. You have to flirt and tease. No girl is ATTRACTED to 'niceness.' They say they are but they are lying to themselves trying to appear less shallow. If you want to meet girls going out to parties/clubs/bars, you have to be somewhat loud, approach them confidently, and be funny. They can tell when you think they're out of your league so keep the mindset that you have just as much, if not more value than them. The second point is that you have to exemplify value to a girl. It can be through success, money, power, intelligence, or humor. But being nice is not a quality that exemplifies value. It's a nice side effect most girls wish (or say they wish) guys have, but being nice alone will not cut it if you're going out to meet women. You can meet different types of girls at places like book clubs or comic book conventions who are looking for a different type of guy with their heads rather than who they feel a strong attraction for, but by and large the women you'll meet out at parties/clubs/bars generally have been drinking and just want a guy that will excite them, attract them, and show them a good time. My bet is that's what you need to focus on.

It depends on whether or not a sequel adds enough value/substance to differentiate it from it's predecessor.

I wouldn't tell her that. That's a lot like saying she's just not smart enough to be with you. Just do it gentely, try to hurt her as little as possible, tell her it's just going to be hard to keep long-distant relationship, something around those lines. That's what I have been saying but she feels like if I like her enough the distance shouldn't matter. Therefore I have to have a specific reason why I basically am not willing to put in the effort to maintain a long term long distance relationship which is where I'm stuck at.
-
I told her that if she thinks she won't be able to handle the likelihood of this being short term than she should be emotionally responsible and let me know. She was pretty upset to hear this but wants to keep hanging out most likely in the hopes that I decide at the end of the summer I want to keep dating. Which means my plan kind of back-fired but at least she's ready for a potential breakup. I have been thinking about calling it off soon. I'd like some advice on how to do it though. We do have a strong emotional connection but how do I tell her that I can't stand normal conversation with her? Say that we don't have an "intellectual connection"? Not on "the same wavelength"? Have "different interests"?
-
This sounds like a seinfeld episode. To put it bluntly, you don't like her but she likes you and she's hot. Your brain is telling you no, but your penis is telling you oh god yes. If you don't want to hurt her, stop seeing her. If you don't care and just want action, continue what you're doing. My life literally is Seinfeld/Curb your Enthusiasm. I'm actually working on a cartoon in my spare time that I'm basing off my college experiences similar to both shows. Essentially you're right though. But you don't think the idea of a mutually accepted summer fling would work? Additionally I don't know how I would even break it off at this point.
