The lines and dots are called scan lines. You can download them at places like deviantart.com by searching for Photoshop patterns and choosing one you like. You get out your fill tool, set the mode to pattern fill, and just fill the space with the pattern. Once you have the layer of scan lines, you can mess with filters and layer settings to achieve an effect that you like.
Well, I recently started trying to get active in the gfx world again and I decided to do a pretty large photo manipulation. I combined three stocks and added a lot of effects to create something I like. This is definitely one of my better manips. I'm trying to think of a title so if anyone has suggestions, fire away. Anyway, here's the manip and credits are at the bottom: V.1 http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/9804 ... arszv6.jpg V.2 C/c is greatly appreciated. I can read the text just fine. Anyway, I like everything but the filter on the left mountain and the border. The effects in the sky look pretty good. I prefer v.1. Good job on this one Cad.
I happen to like the border size. Anyway, it's nice but it doesn't seem to hard considering you used a star brush. It would've been more original had you made the stars yourself. Good job though. You did nice on the planets and everything else overall. Text could be better.
Actually, I didn't use any brushes. It was all filters, smudging, C4D, and more filters. I guess I could have done better but, like I said, it's my first in months and even after the sig I was remembering old techniques that I used to use that I had forgotten about.
Thanks for the input. The border isn't on all for sides so I can't really do anything about that. As for ripping, I have little initials in a corner. I'm not to worried about it being ripped. Anyway, thanks again.
I love Gears of War. I'm at the boss. I got there and decided to stop playing for a little while. I figure I'll kill him today. Anyway, the graphics and storyline are both amazing. Xbox Live is great also. In my opinion, Halo beats Gears in online play but Gears kills Halo in campaign. Gears of War is, hands down, the best FPS I've played so far.
I like how almost everything in the sig is hand made by you. It gives it a bit more originality. Anyway, the dude you drew is pretty good considering you drew it with your mouse. The background and text is a little boring but since you're still new, that's not a huge problem. Good job.
For your third sig, it's pretty good. You may want to start using tutorials to help you blend in the render and overall get better at making sigs. Don't rely on tuts though. Anyway, my third sig didn't look that good so you've done pretty well.
Nope, I've taken care of that. It's just really hard to see. Also, I'm a fan of this border style but thanks for the input anyway. Glad to see that people like it so far. Anymore comments?
It's pretty good. I rented it for 360 and I'll probably buy it soon. I remember doing CoD2 with my friend on veteran difficulty. It was so fun. I'm looking forward to that with CoD3. Anyway, it's a good game IMO. I prefer Gears of War though.
Well, I haven't made a sig in months so I didn't really plan on the result being perfect or anything. I think it turned out okay for it being my first sig in probably 3 or 4 months. Anyway, comments and criticism will be greatly appreciated.
I thought the same thing. Anyway, it's very nice. I don't know much about pixeling but shading and all looks real nice. As for which version, I like both equally. I may like V.2 a little better though. Good work.
It's called bad cropping/rendering. Anyway, the lens flare is bad, the background doesn't fit the render, and the render isn't blended at all. The tech design on the right is pointless IMO. I would give this about a 3. It is one of your best though.
Well, you see, The Gallery is meant for people to post there works for comments and criticism. We gave him our opinion. Yes, it doesn't really matter what we think but c/c is what The Gallery is meant for.
You right click with your middle finger? :? . I've always used my third. [if your looking at the back of your hand and are counting from your index finger] For me its my first 3 fingers ;p. Control WSAD and the first and second buttons on my mouse >_>. I right click with my middle finger also. Anyway, I would probably say my thumb. Life would be so much harder without one and I would have a much harder time playing video games.
