  1. So does that mean you now have to screw yourself?
  2. They forage strawberry and watermelon seeds. It was in response to lady ninane suggesting the price of seeds would go up. It might for a while, but I see them stabilise at their current price pretty soon.
  3. making thieving seeds more profitable and fruit bats more profitable... added incentive to gather seeds.
  4. It just makes farming a bit easier. This is not a revolutionnary feature that would separate the 99 farmers before and after like some skills got. I will certainly use them more especially since I got 69 summon lately and use my fruit bat a lot to gather strawberry and watermelon seeds. Appreciated, but not game-breaking. pretty nice updates so far this year, making lots of minor improvements to the gameplay.
  5. You are at an age where what the world thinks about you is pretty important. Once you get older, you realise that what you think about yourself is more important. If you don't want to project the image of a person playing RS, then lie about it. If you can live with what people think about you, then face the hate-storm and tell the truth.
  6. OMG I'VE WANTED THIS FOREVER. If only I still played damnit. Good stuff always comes when it's unneccesary. I don't care if this guy doesn't play anymore, this is good stuff and this is still necessary.
  7. You pay to play a "competitive" MMO. You must be prepared to face competition in-game. I wouldn't call this a fraud on Jagex part from that point of view. It's like saying I went to a karting race and there were people in my way, the company that sold me my ride is engaging in a fraud... As to the original topic : maybe because they are (choose from a combination in the list ahead) : stupid, lazy, un-informed, un-efficient, new to the game or ignorant.
  8. Just want to point out that I asked you what is the process of gaining modship and you told me to get the trust of a mod so he could tell me... Basically you are debating this specific point with "inside" information that you have not told us and we must take your word for it that the process is flawed... I admit that I was mostly playing the devil's advocate when debating with you, because I like debating for the sake of it. I have no doubt that there are a lot of people out there who are in it for the status, this is what drives some people in real life and it translate into the game. My main point is that you are just overexagerating the reality a bit. Ohh and also that I can't support your claim because from my point if view and personnal experience, I never had much trouble with oversized ego mods. Meaning I can't support it but I have no problem believing this could be the reality. Could you please either answer my question concerning the process either is this thread...or in PM. I genuinely want to know for my personnal knowledge what is the process (and how it can be abused obviously).
  9. Same for me, always on the lookout for jekyll when I am (was) near a bank to retrieve a cadantine... Why did noone ever tell me this? :wall: don't feel bad... everytime I used to see a jekyll appear near a bank, I would tell the player to give him a cadantine and mostly got told to mind my own business... Some people like their confort zone too much to accept advices...
  10. Same for me, always on the lookout for jekyll when I am (was) near a bank to retrieve a cadantine... AS for the new rewards... a choice between 140-700 summon xp(charms), 650-990 xp in any skill (genie) or various tradeable items (500 gps to 15k it seems)... Probably will choose the xp lamp over anything under 5k. Don't talk to me about costumes... I made a firm oath to always drop them.

    Duradel and me

might wanna do some questing and unlock new monsters?
  12. As long as you do the same for me and don't correct my opinions...sure. I said there are 3 types of player mods... one of these type is a genuine player mod who wants to help the game, the other 2 are in it for the status symbol. It doesn't mean that 33,3% of player mods are good while 66,7% are bad... It means you will find player mods in these 3 categories. What you imply is that 1-2% are good mods while the rest are either in it for the status symbol or the power abuse they can inflict. reporting for modship is pretty poor form indeed. I also find it distasteful. What I can't agree with you because I have not seen any evidence in my experience is that MOST mods are doing it this way. As for the post regarding gaining mod status, I admit that I can't find it... is it in this post? What's with the "horse mouth" thing? Is it some code word for something else...or an american expression I'm not familiar with (sorry ...french-canadian here...). About world 2 being the reporting world... I was not aware of that... care to explain the phenomenon or just post a link, I'm genuinely out of the park on that one.
  13. I wouldn't say an angry kid because an angry kid would not have taken the time to properly lay out his arguments and use proper grammar. Which is the reason I'm still sticking to that thread, the OP has passion about his argument and doesn't let that get in the way of reason (something we rarely see on the rants forum).
  14. Well it's my opinion and in no way a true representation of the reality. Same as yours, it's based on your personnal experience. We both are biased by our personnal experiences. I didn't say 1 in 3 is a good mod. I said there are 3 types of player mod. I have no idea what portion of them are in it for the status symbol. I'm not saying your opinion is lesser than mine... just saying you can't impose as facts what is your opinion. You still haven't admitted to generalization... I don't find in my post anything suggesting I'm the only one in this game talking to mods. As for honour and decency... what is wrong with reporting a rule-breaker? What I meant was... whats does it matter to YOU? Do you wanna know for general knowledge? Or maybe you used to want to be a mod and wanted to use the best tactics to become one? You seem to think that a player gain modship by spamming the report abuse feature...? Care to tell us how you think a mod gains his status in your opinion?
  15. After reading back your original post, this is what I have to offer: I find mods to be the exact representation of the global population. There are some that want the status, some that got modship through dedication to the game and some that got their status wrongfully because of their behavior. Of these 3 categories, only one type of player would want to be a mod without the crown. There I answered your question. I would want to be a mod without a crown. I like giving advice but I hate neverending conversation as I play the more like the quiet type. When you say MOST want status, you base yourself on your personnal experience and is scientifically ....void and null to use your words. As for encouraging snitching... encourage snitching for the status of being a mod is wrong, reporting abuse to make the game more enjoyable to play is right. How many mods have you spoken to online in your carreer? How many mods are there total? How can you say it's not generalization when you can't provide proof? At least admit it's generalization... As for saying how they got modship... what does it matter? How did you get your bandos? It's the right of a player to answer whatever he wants... I didn't know mods said they are the reason bots are "gone"... in fact I so totally don't care what a player mod say that I don't ask questions to them. What is shown in post supporting your idea that mods want the "job" for the status is opinions by non-mods. That only tells you what some people think and not the verified reality. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of players out there that see modship as an ultimate goal and try their best to report every typos and innuendos to gain that status. On that point I agree with you. Where I don't agree is when you correct me saying "most" want status without providing any proof outside personnal experience (or vendetta). I also don't agree that we don't need these players in-game to help regulate the gameplay.
  16. I have the feeling that underneath this rant lies a jealousy of not having modship status. Why would you really want to know how they got promoted to mod if not for the reason that you obviously want to be one? Just keep in mind that behind every player (mod or ordinary) is a unique person and generalization of them can lead to unjustified hatred.
  17. I will add permanently intelligent players that will add to my RS experience. Lately I added Compfreak/deviledegg because of the numerous discussion we had on his famous "slayer sucks" thread. Having someone like that with extensive knowledge of the game can be a real life saver when you need info in-game on the spot. I met a girl in game recently while farming and just passing by noticed how female char in-game have nice legs... told her that for fun and we ended having a very long and nice conversation. Discovered we had a common passion for penguin spying and star hunting. I'm not a big fan of clans and CCs but it's always nice to get a penguin call or a "come to my world- mining guild and bring your pick!" once in a while.
  18. Train controlled with that whip and specing with dagger for extra str xp. And to the one who posted that d long is better than dagger... do some testing and you will be surprised how dagger gets you 5-10% more xp per hour. I would advise against training those skills one by one then downgrading to a d scimmy for str xp... It is a matter of choice, but since you asked for advice, that was mine.
  19. Yes that is quite possible. Soul Wars is your answer. Okay, he also has 68 summoning yet doesnt know how to make a pouch? If you looked at this guys previous posts you'd understand why I questioned it. LOL, I looked back at posts and this is what I found: Forum: Help & Advice Topic: What should I kill for money? sadaharu Post subject: What should I kill for money? Wow, I want to know how to get this high so fast. Even if you played 24 hours straight you couldn't get that high! Looks like he bought the account ...or hacked it. If he has that summoning level and doesn't know how to recharge points or retrieve from inventory, he's either challenged between the ears or a sad account hacker/buyer... OT: Try harder...

    ok wtf.

Do what everyone else does. Earn your items. This is pretty simple. When you come back to RS, it's always a good idea to read the updates you missed. This way, you don't end up doing something noobish. I have to agree with "theday..." that Jagex could have handled the situation better, but since I don't have a solution and we hve to deal with this, better get used to it.
  21. Well no, because you'd get the same drops at the same speed. :? Again, that depends on how much you value Slayer experience and total levels. No, you'll get the same loot no matter how much you value total experience, actually. #-o [/hide] The point is having 83 slayer is worth something because it is 82 total levels that you dont have at 1 slayer. And also provides you an alternative to green dragons. Let's say we get another invasion from gold farmer and green dragon locations get crowded to the point where profits go down to about 200k per hour like it once was...
  22. I know you meant this as a joke, I think. But if the OP were to do this they may want to hurry before that is nerfed. What he should have said is: tank around the obelisk in Soul Wars with auto-retaliate off. This way, you help your team ...slightly and you don't get any combat xp.
  23. you can attack the avatar earlier then other players can :-k Yeah but this is an advantage for my team, this does not give me better rewards (except the possibility to get more slayer xp...but as everyone has already figured out, normal slaying is faster...). I mean, a team of all levels 138 with 35 slayer would win over a team of lvls 100 with 60 slayer. This is not a slayer mini game, this is a PVP mini game with a loose relation to slayer. I was expecting more of this one and I will probably never play it again.
  24. isnt afk-ing against the rules? It is, but it's pretty hard to prove also. The mere fact that you can park your char for 5 minutes before it logs out means you can safely afk for 5 minutes (sure Jagex, I had to dump a pretty big doodoo, this explains why I left the screen for 5 minutes...). What I don't get about this game is why having a higher slayer level doesn't give me an advantage over other players...
  25. The abyssal minion is the equivalent of a skill cape, but for much less exp. It's purely for show and "achievement". The dialogs are pretty cool once again from Jagex, but not worth the hassle IMO. What would be pretty cool though is to use the ring of stone near a mine with the minion following. Talk about miners getting scared!
