  1. I'd say as soon as you have the financial means and access to a credit card. I know I would have loved to have spent less time in F2P seeing as everything is much faster, profitable and tons more fun in P2P.
  2. That's just the new CEO trying to reach up to the average player..hence kids. What's wrong with trying to stay young? Would you have liked if he had showed you financial charts of why removing the old wilderness was more profitable? Corporate announcements can be painfully boring and impersonnal. I'm glad this one was more human than what you can expect from a bank. Stop being so uptight.
  3. Just a note to let you know that when you smelt iron ores at the edgeville furnace and the armour magically smelt another one, that second one will not count on your ring of forging. Meaning that with the 140 iron ores capacity of the ring of forging, you can sometimes smelt over 150 with one ring depending on how many times the armour activates.
  4. A bit of both, i got most of my money through slayer drops (60+ whips, 40+ d boots and countless rune boots, g mauls, mystic robes and rune weapons), clue rewards (all god sets multiple times, robin, all cavs and countless page and rune loot) and farming (farmed around 400 torstol, 250 snaps and countless kwuarms). Woodcutting and fishing also gained me a couple mils along the way. Money comes in too many ways to rely on either one. As far as boss hunting goes, I got a 5 man d meds at the KBD when they were 2,3 mil... a 4-man CS godsword shard at 130k...and recently another D-Med at kbd CSed at 30k each on a 2-man rampage... Ohhh add a lucky visage on a steel dragon task.
  5. Smelting steel bars and iron bars are the same speed... the difference is you are running a lot more from the bank to the furnace, leading to iron bars being faster made, but not to a 3 to 1 ratio like you seem to hint to. AS for smithing iron bars versus making cannon balls, you get the same xp per bar, but smithing is faster as the time for the balls to cool down (whoa I'm getting into pun territory here...) takes longer.
  6. So true, especially when I receive my paycheck, I don't mind it at all.
  7. I think it's the fear of having a mini game being the main way to level. I wouldn't have minded a reward form the mini game to level faster. As for the guy is the dress, well fashion isn't my strong point.
  8. If it can lure people away from actual slayer monsters, that will be a huge plus for any hardcore slayer.
  9. You shouldn't care what people will say. If this mini game is fun, just play it. I know I will. There will always be nay-sayers who will rightfully say that new methods of training are faster than previous ones, but that's how the game evolves. I don't care if you cooked your 99 by clicking every fish, what matters is where you stand now and how YOU feel about it.
  10. I achieved all my 99s on my way to 99 slayer. They just came naturally to me and since I'm not a big 99 party guy, I kinda got them without a bang. Just like when I got 99 ranged at daganoths with my cannon, the discussion looked like this : someplayer : OMG another cannon noob! Me: At least my task is gonna be pretty fast and it gets me ranged xp. someplayer: I prefer to slay the proper way. ME : suit yourself... BTW just got 99 ranged during this conversation... someplayer: ... Grats I guess... cannon noob! Me: Lol ty, task over... have fun!

    Slayer Sucks

I believe the experience rates he uses are with super sets and 10% strength only. EDIT: Do not take my word for it. Yeah, but I've seen mentionned a couple times during this whole debate that the profit gained through slayer points (magic dart runes) is off-balanced with the cost of prayer potions and cannon balls. I'm more the casual slayer type (super sets, bunyip and piety as long as I have prayer points) and I get way more than 90k gp per hour. My xp rates are around 55-60k per hour, so I'm not debating that.
  12. Like you said later on, it must be because you don't keep 100% screen attention. I tested at 90 fish and got 32k xp per hour with fish potion, but without a familiar to boost it up. I expect getting around 35-36k per hour with granite lobster at my current lvl.
  13. Iron arrowheads give more than knives, and for some weird phenomenon, they sell on the G.E.

    Slayer Sucks

hey just a thought here. What are the xp and gp rates of slayer with casual slaying (super set, no piety and no cannon). Just for the sake of comparison.
  15. There's always been what you call a loop... Except before smoking kills you could not get the same task twice in a row. People give average to make comparison between training combat trhough slayer or through monsters outside slayer, in the long run... the average is only accurate on the long run.
  16. most I ever got with ibis is 20 swordfish. I'm pretty sure the max you can get is 30 (full invent) but that is probably insanely rare. Average foraging is around 10-12 for ibis.
  17. As long as there's a baby-foot table, you'll find me there.
  18. They did say March at one point, but their latest statement was "Spring 2009" so there is no guarantee that MechScape will be released in March. Similarly, instead of MechScape it could be related to ThirdScape although that'd mean Jagex would have two space games (I assume one for the older demographic and one for the younger demographic). Yeah I read most reports you make as I find it pretty interesting. As for the word "weeks", I nearly typed "months", let's assume I was refering to that spring release date. I can easily imagine a futuristic world with lots of civilised planets for a game while the other puts the characters in a kind of space exploration adventure more like modern day space exploration.
  19. This is a possibility. But why create a buzz around "Mechscape" to throw it out the window weeks prior to release day? Yeah I know the buzz is mainly hearsay and forum rumours, but there is a buzz nonetheless inside their core market and lots of RS players are awaiting "Mechscape". \
  20. you could also bring a void spinner , it is pretty expensive but it will be compensated by the drops. Another option is to bring lots of food (pizzas or strawberrie baskets) and bank form time to time.
  21. Yes it won't be 100% accurate, that is why we use averages. You kinda contradict yourself there by saying you get a rough average and then saying it won't be close to it. Advanced maths (or simple mathematics for the college graduates on these boards) shows us that taking a large sample from a given population will give us a pretty accurate average of what happens truly. Whenever you use a small sample, the rates and average you will get will have a good chance of deviating a lot form the accurate average. A loop is just a way for a player to convince himself that the system's randomness is broken. There's no such thing as a pre-programmed loop.
  22. After seeing ultim's post, 400 monks per hour is probably something achievable with 99 fish, potting/pieing a lot and with the best fishing familiar possible (granite lobster). I can't confirm this though.
  23. At 91 fish I tested monks and got around 32k xp per hour, so a little less than 300 monks per hour. At that time, that would give around 105k gp per hour, less than sharks, but more than lobbies and swordies/tunas.
