  1. I do my weekly circus mainly for agility XP as I hate the skill. ATM, I usually do every lvl (from 10 to 99) with my 10 sets of emotes for all three skills. As I don't care about the costume and only want the best XP and I don't want to spend too much time there (I'm not gonna wait for thw crowd to give me pointers...) here's my question: To get max XP at the circus, should I just do 99s and 90s with 10 sets of emotes? or keep doing what I do (from 10 to 99 with 10 sets of emotes)? Don't post a link to tip.it's guide, I read it and it mentions the first option as better to get costume, I don't want it, just want the best XP and the guide doesn't say if there's a correlation between costume and Xp rewards...
  2. Seems you liked the post about farming... I will add in the evil turnips - the seeds cost 200 gp each, they don't need payments or compost and never die. End result is something that can be sold for 3k on the G.E. - they are near the beladonna spot west of draynor manor and have a growing time relatively low. If you plan on making super compost, always browse the G.E. to find the most cheapest fruit to use (depending on the mood swings of farmers, calquat fruit and roots are usually the cheapest available).
  3. I see slayer ranged training being good when you "upgrade" to another slayer master and start getting harder task to melee. This is mainly for low-mid and 115 and lower combat. Getting used to your new master and camping the new harder monster in ranged is better in my opinion. Though at some point, you'll plateau and melee will become faster (less food needed, less banking...). At this point, it's time to upgrade to a new master again. Once you reach a certain level combat-wise with either 68 summoning, guthans or SGS, melee will become the fastest methods for slaying.
  4. He used the wrong formula. He gave 1 xp to HP per hit. The right formula would have been to use 1,33 xp to HP per hit. So instead of dividing 50k HP xp by 25, he should have divided by 33,33. That would have given him the same number and he wouldn't have posted it because he'd realised they both give the same answer.
  5. Since your RC lvl is quite low, it's a good idea to craft the rune you will need. Though once you reach 44 RC, it's better to RC nats, sell them and buy cosmics. (more RC xp, more cash too).
  6. Using melee armor to train range is idiotic... It's like taking your car on the railroad... you can do it and it's your choice, but on the next morning's paper they will say an idiot died...
  7. swap that skill cape for a god cape that actually gives you a magic bonus (attack). As for the ring, wealth or mage bonus. It's up to you and your trust in ROW.
  8. the best place to kill them is the ogre enclave. bring a ring of dueling to bank in castle wars. There's plenty of dragons to kill there and much less competition. If you have high agility, then taverly using the short cut is faster though. Unless you have 80-85+ melees I'd suggest ranging them, the trick is to find the several safespots first. These are excellent money for a slayer task, but the counterpart is a slow xp rates as you are banking regularly (hides + bones... or just the hides if you bury the bones). Good luck with those, I'm just sad Duradel doesn't assign them anymore, they were a nice change and a nice profitable task.

    Slayer Sucks

Training slayer after 90 is also wasted experience, isn't it? If you were going to get 99 slayer, you're already planning on getting experience that's meaningless except as a status symbol. If that's the case, what's wrong with getting straight 99s in melee, range, prayer, and/or summoning beforehand to achieve the fastest possible slayer xp, and then using slayer to raise your rank in the hiscores? Nothing wrong with that, except you will get 99 slayer (or your desired slayer level) much later than if you trained your combat along with training slayer. It's a matter of choice at this point. Lots of skills are wasted experience past their max achievement if we follow that chain of thought. I.e farming at 85, crafting at 90...
  10. What weapon were you using? I've heard alot of people saying its better to use Addy/Rune knives if you are looking for Fast EXP/CASH but then again you have to spend more to make more. Im probably making as much money per hour as i can. Ill just wait till i can buy Armadyl and see if it makes any changes. was using rune c-bow with broad bolts and I used about 350 in those 150 minutes. I'm not sure you'd get insanely more kills using rune or addy knives to compensate the added cost. My set-up was : armadyl : helm, body and legs, fury rune c-bow and broad bolts ava's accumulator ranger boots ring of wealth RFD gloves Sure I eat more, but at 99 def, 99 ranged, with a bunyip, loaded with baskets of strawberries and bones to peaches tablets, I stayed there for 3 (4-doses) ranging potion potted when I got back to 99 ranged. I'm pretty sure that most people saying they get 400K+ per hour at aviansies are not counting the cost (bolts, knives or arrows, BTP tablets, potions, alch runes, summon pouches and extra food).
  11. I tried the tanking method in the armadyl area. Got 850k during a 2h30 trip, meaning a 340k average per hour. I got around same KC and noted bars so I was in the average addy bars drop. This was done at 99 ranged and wearing near max ranged bonus (I was using wealth - not archer ring). I do believe you can get more cash per hour than 340k, but getting 400k per hour below 99 ranged consistantly is probably out of the question. Just my 2 cents or maybe I'm unlucky...like a lot of players.
  12. yep, not too far from bank
  13. teaks - dropping on karamja inside the clean-up minigame fences where mahogany are also edit: best for xp Eucalyptus are best for balanced xp and gp though
  14. Yeah, bottom line, meleeing slayer is faster than ranging it. I find that a good balance of the two is good and when you start using cannon on specific tasks (dagganoths and kalphites), your ranged will raise without much effort. I used to ranged about 15-20% of my tasks and got 99 ranged during my last 500k xp slayer. It evens out in the long run.
  15. Absolutely agreed on that. My scenario implied using weapons with the same stats which is hypothetical and pretty hard to confirm. Anyway, I'm an advocate of controlled training so this debate is pretty much over for me.
  16. I think you got it wrong Kent... Zierro was right, say you need 60k exp to level att, str and def. Player A gets 60k xp in Att - gets a lvl (gets better xp rates) Player B gets 20k in att, str and def - stays the same Player A gets 60k in str - gets a lvl (gets better xp rates) Player B gets 20k in att, str and def - still have not leveled Player A gets 60k in def - gets a lvl at the same time Player B levels all 3 Player B gets 20k in att, str and def - levels all at the same time Player A gets def lvl. So player A gets better rates xp during 120k xp so he should theorically get his def lvl before player B. That is with the assumption both player are using the same weapon giving the same bonus (which is pretty rare - D long on controlled uses stab attack which is lower than slash for example). I think he just meant that defence is not really required for monsters with low attack. The other way around was not mentionned as it would be very wrong.
  17. Just on a side note, terrorbird scroll are worth more than 10% of the pouch on the G.E. and easy to sell for the run energy they provide. Taking 5 more seconds for that miniuscule xp and better sale value is worth it IMO.
  18. Everytime there is a thread like this, you will see a smart mouth bring up "signing in...", "clicking the create new user"...etc.. If you regret that much playing RS, just quit and put your money where your mouth is. OT: I regret having waited 6 months to really start slaying, I got 85 slayer when whips were 3,4 mil. If I hadn't been lazy, I would have gotten 85 when they were 6-7 mil.
  19. Wouldn't that be an incentive to level that skill higher? It's like saying Jagex shouldn't add more prayers because only high level prayer players would benefit and not everyone raise their prayer level that high...
  20. Who the hell is this duradel? It's lapalok now , keep upto date. im 100% for new monster @ 95 :( bring it on AHhhhh you ruined it for me! OT : isn't it time we get a slayer Boss ? Requiring a team and a slayer lvl to kill? I would love a slayer-guild type place where you have different monster requiring a team and slayer lvl to take down. I.E. Master Abberant Specter (lvl 380), attacks mainly with magic but has both range and melee attacks to complete the triangle. Requires 55 slayer and nose peg or slayer helmet to kill. Drops full black mystic (boxed like G.E.), multiples herb seeds (toadflax through torstol), MYSTIC lava staff, D med instead of rune full helm, gems and half keys and drop herbs noted (ranarrs and up). Upon dying, spawns 10 normal aberrant specters (useful for training slayer). Well this is just an idea, but more slayer monster could be turned into "boss" at a "slayer-guild".
  21. I always bring a magpie as my first familiar on slayer task then terrorbird for invent space. Even though I don't walk much, it will gather gems and rings for around 5-10k while the pouch will have cost me 1,5k. This is pure profit as fighting in non multi, most familiars are useless. Don't ask me to use a bunyip, I don't need one with 99 def and SGS.
  22. One more monster on Duradel's payroll would suit me fine!
  23. If you chose to wear bad armor over good armor, that's your choice. No one's gonna force you to wear what's considered to be standard armor. I wouldn't want you in my team at GWD though. Any other armor would make you have to heal less ( teammates wouldn't have to give you food to compensate) and that is a plus for any serious GWD team. As for slayer, I'm a bit biased on this, I found barrows armor to be overkill at 99 def with SGS. Meaning I heal more than I get hit on most monsters, so I "downgraded" to bandos for added str (thus better xp rates) and less def (my SGS heals the added DMG I take and it's still close to overkill). I woulnd't mind trading 20-25 def for an added 3-4 str, att or pray bonus with the gear I use nowadays. It would be a different story if another master slayer were to be added with harder tasks.
  24. talking economics, there is a cost : the price you could get if you sell. Meh I might test it this week end just so I can stop being confused.
  25. A french friend of mine has the name "jeuxpoche" which translate to "crappygame". Always funny to see him log in and remind me I'm addicted to a crappy game. no flaming please... I love this crappy game
