  1. I wonder if there will be a quest requirement to smith the HP bar. I can't wait to own with my new HP-2H. edit: oops thought it was an upgrade to smithing... Seriously, that will have no effect on my gameplay at all.
  2. Nice formula proofy. Like I said previously, I have no idea if my assumption is correct, but it's the closest I came up with what we have in terms of information.
  3. A video of a single occurence will prove nothing. To get a reasonnable proof, you need a big sample. I also trust Comp to have tested both.
  4. What this also shows it that the best offensive set-up (without taking into account the rapidly degradable PVP armour and weapons) will hit 53% of the time against the best defensive set-up. And following that theory, it will hit on average half his max damage.
  5. I think he just compared set-ups that are mostly used in PVP. The assumption is wether a hit will occur or not. Str bonus is not counted in that calculation as if doesn't affect if you hit or not.
  6. Yeah, multiplying by 100 was implied, sorry.
  7. Wow, didn't my theory would be put to the test that soon! Just a side note because you will get a lot of PVP'er saying that high hits are better for the K.O. effect justifying their set-up. They may be right, but what stats can't show us is the effect of weapon speed and the ability to heal. Edit : oops read too fast and just noticed you already dismissed that. One point though is that you substract from the opponent's total defence your total attack bonus. What you should do is divide your total attack bonus by your opponent's total defence bonus. Giving you a % or accuracy. Meaning you will hit X% of the time against an opponent.
  8. Is this actually correct? Seems to me like it is. :o That's what I assume... I don't know the actual mechanic, but this is a pretty good assumption. We can assume that when they say that the chicken has a 50% chance to do 1 damage when it hits with its attack, it means its str lvl is 1 (randoming 0 results in 0 damage and randoming 1 results in 1 damage). This can be tested in duel arena with 2 players. Find 2 players (one with 10 attack, the other with 50 def) the one with 10 attack will attack (with fists) and the other will only eat and not fight back. If we can test this for a 1000 tries and the 10 attack player hits 200 times, then that theory will be "assumed proven". The thing is.. the 10 attack player must not lvl attack during the test, def doesn't matter and str has no bearing on accuracy.
  9. magics and yews at 94 WC will give you around 115-125k per hour depending on the daily prices of each. Green dragon killing is easily better money even with risk of revenants and crowds. There are so many spawns that crowds should not be a concern.
  10. Not to sound like the devil's advocate, but I type a lot on french keyboards and I sometimes have a hard time configurating the keyboard properly. For example, my "it's" will sometimes end up like that "it>s". This can be really frustrating at times.
  11. not only is this fine maths, it's also an insight as to how hits and damage are calculated. It also confirms what I've been thinking for some time. Every time you hit a monster, your attack level (plus prayer boost and slayer helmet effect or salve ammy) added to your gear attack bonus (slash, stab or crush) gives a number (let's say 250 maxed out with godsword). From this number, a random number is rolled. Let's say you rolled 185. On that hit, your enemy will roll a random number from 0 to ... whatever his max bonus is. If your enemy rolls 185 and higher, you splash a 0. If it rolls under 185, you will get a hit. The hit is determine by the str bonus and another random number is rolled translating to damage. Note that you could succeed with your attack roll and hit a 0 with your str roll. That's still hypothetical, but I'm pretty sure that's the most accurate explanation.

    LVL 90

Painfully true. If you want fast str xp, don't slay. Go for Armored zombies or rock crabs or even experiments. If you believe you'll want high slayer one day, then might as well train combat through slayer, but your goal of 90 str will be reached a bit later.
  13. none, I'd stick with my fire cape.
  14. you can also expect to get hit a lot with 66 magic and 79 def. I'm at 99 def and 95 magic and they give me a hard time. Usually do them in 2 trips and it used to be 3 trips before I got 68 summoning for bunyip. They are a pain for sure, but their drops and charms compensate. have fun slaying
  15. Nah repeat until you're not enjoying it anymore. It's a game after all.
  16. 50% + 1 share gives you automatic control of the company but it can be assumed that you have control of a company with less than 50% also. This is a grey zone though. Let's say you have 40% of all shares and your wife has 11%. It can be assumed that you indeed have control in the decision making process of the strategic aspect of the company.
  17. You can't set up a cannon in the Chaos Tunnel.
  18. That's true, but in the long run, it will average around 10% given a greater sample. There's a chance that I will not hit at all on a fire giants for 10 straight attempts, after sampling these 10 misses, would it be wise for me to say that training at fire giants gives 0 xp per hour? Probably not. When determining the average rates for slayer, you need a big sample and usually stable combat stats (meaning you don't gain any combat levels in that time frame). After around let's say 50 tasks you should have a pretty accurate average that translate to your combat level. You can expect then to reach that average over a couple tasks but you can't expect to get it every task (daganoths and steel dragons gives way different rates).
  19. That would be a first for Ray, dream on Morning...

    Slayer Sucks

You mean when you remove 50k worth of ppots from a 300k loot trip , it becomes not good?
  21. I have no idea who buys them, but I made over 10k worth of iron bars into arrowheads and they all sold over time. I just did 200 bars during dinner and I expect them to be sold by the time I log in around supper.
  22. What? In what universe does this statement even remotely make sense? They provide a method of raising exp at a decent rate without the large costs that skillcapes have created in many skills. What do you mean by large cost? Before skillcapes, getting a 99 would include a cost, please point out what's changed. Minigames are an alternative to normal training. Some minigames provide better rates, some others just rewards.
  23. Meh guess I should upgrade my sacarsm-meter a bit. Good thing for the mood Libs, like Forest Gump once said : **it happens!
  24. I'm guessing you were literally born yesterday then? I'm also thinking this is a great BTS, but unfortunately I haven't been dumped lately so I'm not depressed and I don't feel like crapping on the whole world. Sorry if I can't see the world through your brown glasses.
  25. Yeah those are very valid points. I'm not saying kalphites are amongst the best monsters assigned, just pointing they are not that bad. I don't block them because I don't mind wasting a couples K's for a quick task. I currently have blocked steel dragons (not enough spawns), hellhounds (too much competition and GWD ones don'T drop charms), Suqah (personnal taste, I can't stand those) and Wyverns (these take way too much time either meeleing or ranging IMO). Don't get me wrong, they are not my favorite task especially since Smoking Kills got lots of players on Slayer again, meaning lots of players slaying kalphites... leading to the "near-necessity" of carrying a cannon to ensure steady xp. We really need another place to kill kalphites or even another kalphites monster with 100-120 cb with better drops that the soldiers. Even a room with 3 lvls 180-something would be great. 2 only makes you wait for spawn.
