Slayer Sucks
This is true, but it doesn't mean that behaving in the way to max out is a bad idea. Sure, slayer is a combined 100-140k xp per hour and is less than some skills like cooking, thieving and firemaking but it's a lot better than runecrafting and agility. Meaning someone slaying will get more overall levels than someone maxing out combat then going after rc and agility.

Tip.It Times: 29 Mar 2009
nice times... as always. The RL cooking seems nice, might try some of them. I know that for some players, adding macros like cook-x and pray-x cheapens their previous achievements but it's part of the game to evolve periodically. I don't mind getting easier ways to level, I hated training prayer because of the constant clicking. Now I will make full use of the skill and probably aim for 90+ shortly. This is the upgrade year and I enjoy what I see so far.

going past level 99
I agree they should focus on 80+ first but we don't need to have 10k people at 150 mil xp to raise the cap. Anyway, at the rate it is going for a skill like cooking, I expect we'll have at least 100 players at max xp by the end of the summer.

going past level 99
I highly doubt Runescape will be around in 10 years. Even with a 10% yearly decrease in the player base, you will still have around 40-45k players playing at any time in 10 years. There are still a couple hundred old timers playing classic and the game hasn't been upgraded for nearly 5 years. The game might not be at the peak it was when we had lots of macros, gold farmers and pkers, but the player base is definitely of better quality. As for going back on-topic, I'd love to see the cape raised one day once they fill the gap on some skills like herblore (upgraded super sets would be nice), farming (new herbs, fruit trees, bushes...), fishing (something between monks and sharks, requiring a quest with better xp rates than monks and something higher than sharks healing 25), hunter (impling higher than dragon, black chins anyone?), etc... What they could do is raise the cap gradually, like once a month so everyone has the month to fill the gap and be on the same scale as the rest. This would be an incentive to train those skills and not give a huge boost to those who already have the required xp.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Freedom of speech is mainly why I write on these boards, as to surfing the rants forums, some rants are legitimate and have discussion value. This one has, but since there is a lot of opinion involved, chances are that passion will drive people and flaming might follow. Not ignorant kids, just ignorant newbs. Scamming was a plague and unless you were familiar with a good fansite, you had no idea what was true and what was false unless you were experienced. I don't see how some of the anti-scamming features are bad though... don't say trade limits, they were not implemented for that reason. As to the G.E., it would work without a trade limit, but it would not be that effective. People asking for the removal of the trade limits are also asking for the re-appearance of gold farmers and macroers. I will not tolerate another bot-plague Runescape and if this happens, I won't whine about quiting... I'll simply quit.

I just thought a bit about that... Raw fish have been more expensive than their cooked counterparts since cook-X and guthan being stable if I remember correctly.

Slayer Sucks
Most players can do the math, what they sometimes lack is to vision to formulate the equation (determination of all the variables). It's not complex math, but it's also not that basic. I know I'm not playing at the most efficient level (no piety and str pray bonus...) but I choose to slay casually mostly, praying and calling the familiar requires too much attention for my taste.

Tree Hunter's Evil Tree Guide [Rewritten]
Great guide, some things I didn't know in there (fire gloves and ring... magic time cut in half if claimed to a leprechaun...). What would be great for your guide : add pictures of where the evil trees spawn on the map. Just on a side note, what I usually do when I receive my reward and get my magic bonus time : teleport to lumbridge and cutting the 4 yews west of the castle.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
There has always been autoers in RS. Though I have to point that 2006-2007 was the worst: yew trees, blue and green dragons, sharks... Infested with either bots or gold farmers. PVP is pj...pking was pjing also. Unless you don't have lots of mage bank experience back in the day. PVP is risk and competition, why would you warn someone that you are gonna kill them? RC pkers never asked me before killing me ... As to your comment on scammers, I would love to see you IRL getting ripped off when paying for repairs on your car.

I didn't know dueling and games necklace sold at (1) charge, but I always alched these. Great advice to anyone thinking about using that last charge, you are better off selling of alching.

Herblore: A Guide.
Your guide seems to be lacking the most profitable potion to make for high level herblorist, weapon poison ++. Here's a small guide to add to yours. Weapon poison ++ requires the following: Coconut milk (use a coconut with a hammer, then a vial with the open coconut) cave nightshade (acquired through farming - maximum of 2 per day or through picking the skavid spawn in a cave near the ogre enclave - will explain the best way to gather these later on) poison berry (bush farming or buy these) Weapon poison ++ sells for around 5k these days and the buyable ingredients can be obtained for roughly 1,3k-1,5k making the cave nightshade an intrinsic value of around 3,5k per spawn. Gathering cave nightshade : 1- log into a crowded world (1500+) 2- start at castle wars with a ring of dueling equiped 3- inventory ---> light source (seer's headband works) skavid map obtain in the watchtower quest , if lost, ask a lvl 83 ogre guard inside the ogre city, you may have to use a death rune on him. Also carry stacking training items (alchs, ammo fletching...) 4- beast of burden can't carry nightshade, have a foraging familiar to boost your profit (fruit bat, magpie...) 5- running from CW to ogre city, enter the first cave you see. If there is someone already there, respectfully hop to another crowded world. If not, pick the spawn and alch of fletch while waiting for the next one (30 seconds spawn on a crowded world... around one minute on a normal sub 1000 world) 6- when full, tele to CW, deposit BoB and nightshades and repeat You can get around 90 nightshades per hour that way which is around 300k profit per hour. Always check the G.E. for prices before doing this activity to judge if it's worth your time. Weapon poison ++ will sell in less than an hour these days. Ohhh one last thing, questers will sometimes appear (they always wear the antifire shield), be courteous and let them get one spawn.

Slayer Sucks
This is exactly the way I feel about slayer. It depends a lot on the player's point of view. The core of the debate is that there are faster way to train combat, which is true, but what those faster ways lack is slayer experience. From this, the choice will depend on what the player values more.

I like my homemade t-shirt that says: My other shirt is a rune plate.

Mod MMG's Ingame Behind the Scenes
*Looks at mages stats* Lol you'll get it easily, it won't come out for another month(if not a lot longer), just use the penguins and tear of Guthix on it and of course Runecraft. But GL Forsaken is F2P mate...no tears and no penguins

Fishing in members?
last I checked : Sharks are 12k xp per hour and 115k cash per hour Monkfish are 35k xp per hour and 105k cash per hour Suggest you do monkfish even though you are looking for better cash, the faster xp will make you level faster and in the end you will achieve better cash per hour rates.

Something to Ponder On
Total value increases from woodcutting, mining and monster drops (coins, alchable items and hides). GPs are actually coming from coins monster drops, alchemy and selling to shops (and trading to specific NPC). A GS might be worth 20-70 mil, it does not bring any GPs to the economy until it is alched for a ridiculously low price.

~ Troacctid's Woodcutting Guide ~
As for Evil Trees... I usually join a CC specifically for those and hop when someone calls a tree I want to cut and burn, once I get my reward, tele to lumby and use my leprechaun banking bonus at the 4 yews west of lumbridge castle. It is probably one of the most efficient way to use that bonus. If you are lucky, you can get 60 minutes of no banking per day which will improve your xp rates by about 10% for that time period.

Fishing Up to 99
Fly fishing is only 10% faster and a quarter of the profit mons would yield. Stick to piscatoris until 99 and use either an ibis or granite lobster familiar while either using fish potions or admiral pies. I get around 35k xp and 110k gp per hour at monks with pies and ibis at 93 fishing. Fly fishing is closer to 40k xp and 30k gp per hour at Shilo with the same set-up. Do not bother with cage lobsters, tunas/swords and sharks. trust me I tested them all.

Is there Really even a Runescape economy anymore?
Party hats being lower than 2 years ago only means they are not the prime status items anymore. The spirit shields are more rare at the moment and actually serve a purpose other than showing off wealth. There are so many expensive and useful items nowadays that you can choose what you want to buy as a status item. As said previously, the economy is actually more alive today than it was before the G.E. I remember alching most of my rune items because of lack of motivation to log into w2 and type endlessly "selling item X". Some items had previously no market (farming payments, 1-2 doses potions). Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is an economy. If you think it's a big sham perpetrated by Jagex, then it's only an assumption and here's my opinion : you're wrong.

Tip.It Times - Total amount of GP in RS?
i wouldnt agree with average player having 10 mil... alot of lower leveled account are members now that barely have 100-250k just a thought #-o My bank is worth 300 mil... So basically 29 low level members and me average to 10 mil. You can find people with a bank worth a lot more, so I feel the 10 mil average is pretty sound.

Dharok exp rates
don't you need face mask at the well? I imagine dharoking there would not be pretty efficient.
