  1. Yeah, a lot of people have said it must be selective perception that makes him think he used to hit more. Even if you monitor all the damage you do, it would not help at all. You would need to monitor every instance you hit. The damage dealt and total damage is obtained with the strenght variable. I agree that even testing 99 attack vs 75 attack, you could end up with 75 attack getting more succesful hits, but if the combat system follows the law of probability, then with a large sample you would prove that 99 attack makes you hit more often than 75 attack. This thread reminds me of a friend who burnt 3 sharks in his inventory at 92 cooking and started claiming you burn less at 85-90 cooking than 92 cooking. Selective perception and the lack of data make us believe in false realities.
  2. No, he's saying that with mid 70s attack level, (it seems to him) you hit more eften of players wearing armor then with 99 attack under with the same situation. This would be really weird and since he hasn't shown any proof whatsoever, he's probably wrong.
  3. Once you back up your claim or feeling, what you propose us is nothing but an empty theory. A test at the duel arena will probably give you a good idea how selective perception has clouded your views.
  4. this is a matter of opinion, an opinionthat tends to emerge from people who claim to be semi-retired. Here's my opinion on semi-retired players : they failed at the game and now complains to everyone still playing that the game is broken and was better a couple years ago. What they don't realize is that they also failed to quit properly.

I also think it is best to fish and cook monks and that's what I do, but that's not the fastest way to get your fishing and cooking levels up. The difference is that the power grinder will end up with less cash than the casual player, but will achieve his goals faster. From that point on, it's mainly a matter of opinion and how you like to play the game.

I'd say it's a matter of opinion... Grinders will probably make the money and burn it for fast xp in cooking then fish the fastest way... Casual players will probably fish what they want to cook. The grinders will achieve both faster, but it's a matter of how you like to play the game. I know i will never grind the skills like fishing by fly fishing or barb dropping; but it's how I play.
  7. If you feel like you wasted time playing runescape... then you should ask yourself why are you still playing that game?
  8. Ct>lighthouse. CT>Lighthouse CT yep a 15 minutes task is priceless
  9. 99 range kinda surprised me... I was slaying daganoths under the lighthouse with my cannon and I was arguying about my right to use it ( like every task I do there...) when the fireworks appeared and I told the guy I was arguying with. funny thing he said : ...congrats... cannon noob 5 minutes later I was already in shilo getting my next task. Can people just chill out about cannon at dags, it's never more than 15 minutes.

I know this is the rants forum and people use it to vent their frustration... but come on! You people should stop making threads when you are clearly being trolled. If the actions in a game by a player that is probably miles away make such an impression on you that you need to vent your frustration here... you probably have a confidence problem or you need to control your emotions.
  11. If getting a cape is fun for these people, I have no problem with that, if they whine that I don't have a lot of respect for them... then I'm sorry but this isn't my style. Owning a dragon chain used to be impressive... why is it not impressive anymore and not worthy of the average player's respect? There are so many available and the value is not what it used to be. Why is cooking, str, fletching... not so respected anymore? Because the average player will have one of these maxed out compared to 3-4 years ago when having a 99 actually meant more in comparison.
  12. very impresive along all those 99 and very pro total level. Get that ugly 77 construction at 80 to get all skills 80+!

it's not hard either, it just takes time. There are near 100 000 players with 99 cooking. A couple years back, i was in the top 10 000 with 85 cooking, making money to get the "easy" skills to 99 is not that hard, it just takes time and dedication. It's not the fact that it's buyable that makes it easy, the "easy" skills all have a combination of providing high xp rates, being relatively cheap (under 10 millions of investing money) and being afk-able (except firemaking). I mean prayer is easy nowadays but it's not considered easy because it is expensive. I don't have to respect someone because he/she has a 99 in a skill. I'll choose my own terms when decideing if someone is worthy of my respect.

I love skillers, for some reason I never have to figth for spawns against them on my slayer tasks... Seriously, if they like playing the game that way, it's their choice. Just like pkers, pures, campers, minigamers, PCers, SWers, questers, moviemakers, nolifers...
  15. nice stats, not so impressive bank but it looks like you burn a lot of money on skills... Nice 70+ all skills and good luck on your next year.
  16. If you like switching to an inferior weapon to get an unreliable healing, suit yourself. I'd gladly use my SGS spec of summon a buniyp on a single combat slayer task and keep my xp rates at the top. It certainly is not nooby, but if your aim is maximazing your xp rates, then you're not on the fast track.
  17. Barrows armor are not nooby, cheaper yeah, but definitely not nooby. And to those who said that Bandos was nooby, you guys need a serious reality check. It may not be the best armor for your gp, but it still has nice defensive stats along with offensive and pray bonus. Anyone slaying with either a bunyip or using the SGS spec (with high defence) will find barrows armor to be somewhat of a waste on most monsters. The best alternative then is to use bandos or proselyte with piety. Each armor has its use depending on the situation.
  18. you can expect rune meds drop every 100 kills more or less, You might have to eat a lot when fighting lesser demons and have to return fishing a lot. But it will become a lot easier as you get higher levels.
  19. Grats, I've been playing for more than 5 years and only just achieved all skills 70+ last week. Keep reaching at your goals!
  20. All thoses 1's are ruining it...f2p/10
  21. What's different? Before if you were fletching (was the same with cooking, but I never noticed it in other skills tbh) and it produced an item, you stopped what ever you were doing. It go freaking annoying when I was fletching with a fruit bat. Meaning that you get the same xp rates as before but you add between 5k up to 25k cash per hour gained from familiars tht you didn't used previously due to the stoping. Not a game breaking update, but certainly something wise skillers should focus on.
  22. love the new update regarding item-producing familiar. I now have no excuse not to use them while smithing, smleting, flecthing etc...
  23. might have something to do with wilderness tag...oh wait they said they scrapped it. The new skill might involve a lot of running.
  24. Ranging chaos druids "up close" will most likely yeild a profit while getting minimal damage from them. training with whip on controlled will get you more kills per hour than having to switch for scimmy, long, dds or SS for that str level. So I suggest controlled. Always farm the best you can and once you can do oaks, apple, bananas and oranges, do them as the seeds are cheap and they provide great XP for low lvls. Making cannonballs is slow but garantees a profit, your choice. FIght cave is not my specialty sorry.
