I'm curious why you would feel the need to bring religion into it. Yes, you do 'think' you know where you're going because you can never know what god is thinking. By being 100% certain that you will go to heavan, you're basically comparing yourself to jesus christ. You saying you know something which totally requires faith is like me saying I know I am Napolean. Like Bill Hicks said, 'beliefs are neat, some people believe they are Napolean, but don't go around pretending like it's the truth.' There's something so universal and true about Bill Hicks' comedy that I've been quoting him a bit lately. :P He was the greatest, afterall. :P Theres a reason why the word belief is not called evidence. However, I have stepped over to "believing" I will go to heaven to "knowing" I will go reguardless of faithless and negative comments. ~Defender~ You don't exactly know that you are going to heaven, all fall short from the glory of God but by his grace and goodness we are saved through Jesus Christ the son of the most high.

Road kill is rare in Uk, we see some pigions and foxes, some people put them in plastic bags and do prank stuff with them; throwing a dead pigion in someones letter box, or an open car window when the person is on the traffic light is quet fun.

Prove that he didn't, the word prove cannot be used in finding out the way everything started because you cannot Retest it. As a student at the Christian Fellowship School, i can say that the teachers here are 'fundemental' if you like to use that word Christians, they all provide us with valid arguements against evolution ( no we are not brain washed) We learn the theory of Evolution but instead of accepting the theory as fact we learn other options. I suggest you tell your Biology teacher to Read Psalm 19, Also God does not need to use Evolution, because he is God all powerful and mighty etc, Genesis 1 talks about how God says things and they are made. I would imagine if God decided for Evolution to take place he would not say that Adam is made in his own image. Because if evolution had taken place then Adam would be in the image of the chimp next door. It would not make human race unique or special which it so truely is. From a Christian point of view disease did not exist before the fall (sin) after Adam sinned, he brought death and suffering to the world , bacteria etc is useful for getting rid of dead animals and debris nowadays. I am not sure that the world is overpopulated, if you take the borders away and let people travel and live freely then im posetive there will be space for all.

Dunno what you are talking about here. The theory as to how the universe started has no relationship with evolution. I think this is how people keep saying evolution and creationism dont work. What if there was a god that created the first life forms, and then what we have today was evolved from that? That would be the two working side by side. In Genesis God Created Adam in his own image, he didn't make a plankton and named it Adam. God he made the universe yes made.

O:) Ask a pastor of a Church to come to your house and pray for it, tell him you think there's some spiritual thing there. He'll be more than happy to do that, he will probly come to your house and bless every room.

Who in this discussion didn't know that information already? None that I could see. It just sounds like your spitting out information to make yourself look smarter. And I'd have to say the exact same thing to you. For the love of God, major religions aren't going around the world and screaming "SCIENCE IS EVIL!!!!" (anymore); they acknowledge the discoveries of science and generally see nothing wrong with it at all. I'm not saying all science is wrong, BUT i am saying that EVOLUTION&RELIGION well at least the religion that says God made everything , made the humans etc. However one can say that Science is a religion in itself. Oh dear.. :XD: Oh man, read a book, please. Don't just write misinformation to make yourself feel better. Religion and science can work alongside, mate, as I'm sure you'd agree god made us as inquiring and logical beings. As for saying evolution has no evidence and arguments for it are weak, I'm not even going to bother, read a book, seriously. I am in no way saying that science is wrong nor that science and religion cannot work a long side > The Evolutionary aspect of Science and Creationism can not work a long side each other because they are totally different. Yeh, i've read books , watched films, A'sed exams on evolution but IMHO it make no sence to me.

But you don't really. Sorry about your loss, the good part is that he was 98 as you say thats pretty old.

think people are misunderstanding evolution and adaptation they are two different things. Person A from cold country goes to a hot country his skin produces more melanin to stop his skin burning, the man is not evolving but adapting. This principle is also same in bacteria and viruses. The reason you don't see any evolution is because there is none, arguments for evolution are weak, and also people here get confused with Lamarck's theory and Darwin̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s. Lamarck; theory was based on the idea of that the more an organ is used; the more it increases in size, from generation to generation. For example according to Lamarck's theory, the long legs and long neck of the giraffe are the results of generations of giraffes stretching to feed on the leaves of tall trees. The slightly longer legs and neck produced each generation were passed on to the next generation. Darwin; Suggested that new species can be formed by a process called natural selection, he got the idea from studying some finches on the Galapagos Islands, Darwin suggested that each of the different varieties was descended from one variety of finch. Some finches had slightly narrower beaks, good for eating insects. These got more food than others, lived longer and had more offspring̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s. ------------- To the person that said Religion and Evolution can both work a long side each other obviously knows nothing about religion

O:) Ill add my views to this topic. Noah's arc is a true. Other people at that time did not have boats or knew anything about boats, it hardly rained back then, the population of the world was in its thousands. God miraculously gave Noah the plans for the boat and Noah spent decades making it, now the arc contained young and baby animals, some Christians think dinosaurs were left out of the arc. Why did God flood the earth? Well because of the people on it, they all rebelled against God, Noah gave the people a chance to come into the arc with him but instead they all mocked him. The flooding of the earth is a strong evidence of the fossil fuels and fossils we have today. Where did the water go? Well if you read the bible it says 'The Heavens opened, underground etc.' so some of the water might have been added miraculously and some water came from underground. Where did the water go? LOOK at all the ice in the North Pole, underground rives etc. Oceans! Ah yes, the mountains back then were not as high as now because the major mountains formed after the flood. Well that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s my penny, if you have any questions ill try and answer I think i answered the main ones you guys have from a believers points of view.

:P I've had my doubts about global warming for a long time. After watching that programme last night I have come to the conclusion that global warming is not happening and that it is just a cover up for not allowing LEDC's develop. The programme included some of the best scientists on this planet and i recommend it to anyone. One of the other points i would like to raise is that in the programme the scientists said, in fact the Green Peace co founder said ' If you deny global warming you are frowned upon like you are denying the holocaust.' IMHO that is completely wrong and the people who are deaf threatening the scientists should be jailed. I'm all for a greener planet, just don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t blame the people for causing this global warming as emphasized in the programme we are almost nothing compared to the universe.

I assume, science textbooks are your source of knowledge and you didn't have to lift a finger to attain that knowledge, thus your knowledge is based on your faith. The writers in the bible, all the key people in the New Testament gave their lives for their believes, preaching and work. Your sense of knowledge makes the fatal assumption that humans were somehow evolved from a micro cell over hundreds of millions of years I assume?

Actually, the only real "evidence" for a billions of years old earth model is the fact that the philosophy of evolution requires it. That's why radiometric dating "discovers" the ages they do: they triangulate based on a few "knowns," none of which really are known at all: They "know" that the solar system is about 4 billion years old -- based on the philosophy of evolution, which means they don't really know that. They "know" that potassium, Carbon-14, or whatever element they're testing decays at a certain invariable rate -- except they don't know that at all. Decay rates can change, and they don't know if the rate changed or not. Also, they don't know if the amount of daughter material was originally zero. Let's say you're doing Uranium/Lead testing. Uranium decays into lead, so you can accurately determine an artifact's age by calculating the amount of uranium and lead, then plugging those figures into an equation with the decay rate, right? Well... The ONLY way to ensure accuracy is to know the following: How much daughter material (lead) was originally in the artifact? (They don't know! If X amount of lead in the artifact is assumed to ALL be decayed from uranium, when in fact some lead was already there, the artifact could test much older than it really is -- and with no way to tell whether your figures are accurate!) Did the rate of decay remain constant? (They don't know! What if it accelerated? What if it slowed down?) Based on these "facts," which are really assumptions, they measure the ratio of uranium to lead present in the artifact -- the only fact in this whole equation -- plug in their assumptions, and voila! Dinosaurs lived 65 million years ago! Right? Well... What about human skulls and gold chains found in seams of coal? (Oops!) What about tree trunks running vertically through quot;millions of years" of sedimentation? Here are a few other uncomfortable facts: The age of the universe outside the solar system is calculated based on the distance and speed of star and galaxy recession -- but this method presupposes a "Big Bang," which is far from being scientifically established. Not to mention the fact that the distances and speeds are hotly contested. NASA expected 54 feet of dust on the Moon, assuming a 5-billion-year age. Oops! They found only 13 feet at the Apollo 11 landing site, 2 to 3 feet at Luna 16, and 11.5 feet at Apollo 12. The Poynting-Robertson effect slows down small particles in orbit and makes them fall into the sun. In only 2 billion years, all particles less than three inches across clear out to Jupiter's orbit should have been eliminated. Oops! There are huge quantities still out there (they show up during the Perseid meteor shower every August). All short-term comets in the solar system should have been evaporated in 10,000 years or less. Oops! They haven't! Here's the results of radiometric Moon-rock dating: Uranium/lead and thorium: from 3.36 to 28.1 billion years. Potassium/argon: 2.2 to 7 billion years. These figures are incompatible with each other and any known solar system aging model -- if radiometric dating is reliable, that is... Living snails have been radiometrically dated by Carbon-14 to be 2,300 years old. A Hawaiian lava flow known to be less than 200 years old was dated at 3 billion years. New wood in growing tress has been dated at 10,000 years. Oops! Sediment on the ocean floor is an average of 1/2 mile deep, or about 8.2 x 10/17th tons. Rate of deposition is 2.75 x 10/10th tons a year. Works out the oceans can't be more than 33 million years old, even if we stick with a uniform deposition rate. And a non-uniform deposition (caused by something such as a worldwide flood) could greatly reduce the time involved by speeding up deposition. Oil and gas deposits are still under lots of pressure, even in porous rock. That pressure is known to bleed off, and it shouldn't be there anymore if the oil fields are more than a few thousand years old. The only way fossilization occurs is if living tissue is suddenly cut off from air and subjected to great pressure. Scientists studying the topography surrounding Mount St. Helens therefore found fossilized layers of flora and fauna created by mudslides that they know are only 15 years old -- yet they almost exactly reproduce the "millions of years" of fossilization found elsewhere on earth. Here's the "age" of Black Hills Granite, under different radiometric dating methods: Sr/Rb = 1.16 billion years U238/Pb206 = 1.68 billion Pb207/Pb206 = 2.55 billion (Which one is "right"?) Reunion Island rocks tested similarly tested all the way from 100,000 years to 4.4 billion! The earth's magnetic field decays exponentially, with a half-life of 1,400 years. Projecting in reverse, the earth's age comes out as -- surprise! -- 10,000 years or less. There's a lot more (I'm just skimming my Anthro/Christo/Soter. notes from last semester). The reality is that very little evidence points to an old earth, but a lot of evidence points to a young earth, with a fossil layer caused by some sort of worldwide catastrophe. Evolution started with the philosophy of "uniformitarianism," which says that all changes happened very, very slowly. No such thing as a worldwide catastrophe; can't be. Except they have since needed to explain why the dinosaurs went extinct so suddenly. So now we have a worldwide nuclear winter caused by an asteroid hitting the earth. Worldwide changes in geography, topography, climate -- the works. So why not a flood, which would do all the same things? Well, a flood is "unscientific" -- but a giant asteroid isn't! Huh? I've carefully avoided mentioning the genealogical "proof" of the age of mankind, because counting "begats," as you put it, is not a very good method to determine passage of time. But it is very interesting that a lot of the scientific evidence points to a much younger earth than the evolutionists were (and still are) looking for, isn't it?

Man, get off it. The Egyptians were building Pyramids 6,000 years ago. The Earth is NOT 6,000 years old. At all. No chance. Ever. No, just no. I believe I read somewhere yesterday that the Earth could be, at the very least, a few million years old. There is absolutely zero chance that it is 6,000 years old. It's just a fact and fundamentalists are only hurting themselves believing it. How do you know Egyptians built pyramids 6,000 years ago was you there? Well probably not. So you in fact you believe the textbook or whatever it was that told you the pyramids were built 6,000 years ago. Personally I think the earth is around 10,000 years old- our dating system has mistakes the historians made mistakes in putting dates on historic events etc. If you read into it, the ageing process of rocks and fossils is wrong, and scientists do not want to admit they are wrong because there are thousands of textbook authors who would feel a touch cheesed off. In conclusion you can believe anything you want, you can believe that nothing blew up thousands of billions of years ago. And I can believe that God made each one of us in his own image and created the earth in seven days because he is GOD he does things outside of time effortlessly - something that the human mind might not ever fully understand.

Fossils do not prove that the earth is more than 6000 years old however they prove that the earth was covered in water i.e. the flood. For fossils to exist all is needed is a natural disaster followed by presure.
