but ie version 7 also had multiple tabs

the heat was before ie 7 came along... before in ie6, there has no tabs, no rss, script blocker and all those stuff... so some people changed. also ie is infact using part of the windows explorer's parts, so somewhat more "unsafe"

but after ie 7 come out, those people who had changed to firefox are still obsessed with firefox as they used to the old interface (ie: with big buttons)...

or like anish00b had said, they like to download those add-on to slow down there browser... but ie has active-x already... yea, but it got less plugins like firefox does...

anyways, if you are using firefox to play rs... not really recommend, but there isnt really a problem... if you are using firefox to browse the web... yea, maybe its some what better...

How is RS hard on FireFox? I use FF for RS and I have no problems at all. It runs smoother and more lag free than IE does.

it is slightly harder doesnt mean it will cause problems...

but i doubt it will run smoother and more lag free than ie... maybe, you had already screwed up your ie

i still dont get how ff is slightly harder

i meen, u go 2 rs homepage clik on play select detail choose world and ur in

how can that be any harder?

not by that way... but if you think of that way, there is no difference between ie and firefox, so there isnt a need for you to switch...

firefox uses more resources (ie: your ram) to load java apps, thats because ie is using some windows core parts to run... (of cause, you wont feel much difference, if your computer hardware is fairly modern)

but for the same reason, it is said ie is not really a "web browser" (ie: html feeder) and firefox is "safer"...

but mainly, people use firefox is because of its add-on, which isnt necessary for you to play rs...

firefox is also less likely to catch viruses than ie because a lot of hackers send viruses through ie because millions of people are on ie daily, firefox isn't as popular so they dont bother to much yet.

y use a web browser to play rs when you have the official rs window client? - it runs really smooth on that...

when it comes to browsing then i prefer using Opera... well everybody has his opinion :)

Firefox is known to have it's weaknesses, but i really think everyone should have it. Firefox is smoother, faster and better than ever. You can have cool things like ForcastFox, which tells you the weather anywhere in the world, you can get cool skins, ftp clients, spell checkers, everything!

Trust me Firefox is the best and most valuable tool i have ever used, even my company use it. And, from what i've seen, so do Jagex.

FireFox, is a great browser, if prefer it over IE mainly because of Add-Ons and the look.

With a few tweaks FireFox is an amazing browser, and the comment about FF using lots of memory can be fixed by changing one setting.

You should try it its free.

Also try Opera.

Then just pick the one you like best.

I don't like FF or IE that much because I find them both to lag randomly or to be slow. I'm part of the 5%- of the population that preffers Netscape (which is like a weird version of FF). ::'
