  1. Ignore this ^ My tip: Train slayer from the get go and make sure you have done a real decent amount of quests. ALWAYS DO QUESTS. Actually, ignore only PART of it. If you use Brews every 5 minutes in conjugation with your normal super sets/extreme sets, you get a very good defense boost and an appreciable amount of healing. If you drink the Brew before you repot, you take away the negative bonuses of the Brew (assuming you repot in less than 7 minutes). This is a very handy trick for lower-level slayers who need to use defense-boosting potions while on task. Brews boost defense far more than the Super Defense potion will (plus provide healing that the Super Defense won't) and are cheaper than X-Defends (that boost roughly the same amount, but still provide no healing). At higher combat levels, you really don't need the boost, or are using Overloads anyway to kill your monster, so this doesn't really apply. But again, if you need a little extra defense, this is an extremely useful trick. EDIT: Worth mentioning that for the initial boost, this trick will not work. Your stats must have been boosted less than 7 minutes ago for this trick to work at maximum effectiveness. Therefore, you may want to take a dose of restore potion for the initial boost.
  2. I feel these are all such general statements that arguing for or against the general concept is impossible. Such cases such all be looked at on a case-by-case basis to determine whether the actions were correct or incorrect. Establishing a general view towards the topic would muddle such judgment for most people.
  3. Oh ye got 111 dungeoneering btw but hell if I took a screenie. 10m xp to primal scimitar guize@@
  4. Home Teleport is no where near a Fairy Ring. You'd be much better served running to the closest bank (Edgeville, Lumbridge, or Lunar isle depending on your spellbook), withdrawing a Glory/Slayer Ring/Ectophial, and running there.
  5. Imo, make a sticky. They really all say the same thing, imo, and whenever there is something new that comes up, it almost always builds upon previous discussion. Having multiple small threads scattered about GD just means that the conversation is more limited, harder to follow, and more confusing, not to mention more difficult to keep track of all the threads. I understand that GD isn't BOMBARDED with the threads, but needless to say there are quite a number of them and I feel it is a topic that is better suited for a sticky. On the topic of whether to sticky it or not, I think it would HAVE to be a sticky, otherwise you are more or less inviting other threads to be created at some point.
  6. You're talking of auto hotkey? That program is under extremely controversial debate as it stands and you probably won't get a 100% correct answer.
  7. I've have CCS+CSB bound twice now, and I can atest to a few of the things said here. -It is extremely likely that a CCS user will simply stay on magic. I mean, why not, after all? On a plenty of monsters, magic is roughly just as good, if not better than melee, and on the monsters where magic is worse, your team will kill them, and if you're in an absolute jam, then switch over. Otherwise, if the room isn't crawling with mages/necros/books, there's really little reason to switch. Maybe I'm not quite human-robot-good as quickswitching my ring, weapon, and attack style, but most of the time I'm fairly certain that switching back to melee loses more DPS than I potentially could by staying on magic (again with the exception of places where magic clearly won't do). -Runes are easy to come by. You can typically get 200-300 from the start table alone, along with about 30-50 ess on average from the start table (if you turn these all into fires, you get about another 100 or so fires). From there, you simply have to keep an eye open for ess drops, and gate the ht altar. The CCS'er should be the one who gates a door last (unless, of course, doing so would be too problematic) so the CCS'er can quickly craft fires from ess drops. Also don't forget that coin drops exist, and a pile of 20k basically leaves you set for the rest of the dungeon if you continue to pick up fire rune drops and took start table runes. 20k really isn't hard to come by in Dungeoneering. CCS'ers really should be picking up any coin drops they see, and within the first few rooms I often find myself with 20-30k+ from MONSTER drops alone. Of course, communication is a big part of this. If you see a teammate with a CCS, then leave all ess drops ALONE (unless the CCS'er is also the keyer, in which case make fires for him/her) and kill mageables last, even if you have a CSB bound. I've seen this a lot. I'd go to kill a Primal Warrior with my CCS and a CSB'er starts killing it while the room is full with stuff like zombies and skeletons. CSB'ers typically like to make themselves useful and kill mageables first, but if there's a CCS on the team, you really should leave the CCS'er to it.
  8. I had a room last night with 1 celestial mage, then 3 range zombies and 2 sagittarian rangers. 3 deaths from moving through that lol. Or this one RC flip puzzle will 2 Gibsons, Jimi's mom and 2 porno mags. Gah. >_> Is "porno mag" the new nickname of a monster or just what it sounds like? I'm going on a limb here and guessing the room has 2 Brutes, an angry shade, and 2 animated books.
  9. Yet I tried testing this, switching from bandos to armadyl armour and just standing there waiting to kill me.. Didn't notice much difference really. Laws of physics also don't really apply in RuneScape. ;) But Armadyl armour is also quite clearly a metal armour, you cans ee by looking it it has a metallic texture etc. Armadyl has some of the highest magic defence in the game... It also doesn't have the weight you'd associate with metallic armour like rune. I'm not saying it isn't, but it obviously doesn't act as metallic (melee) armour. But that assumes metallic = mele. Metallic can easily mean other things than melee isn't the a whole heap of random non-melee items that stop ava's thingy working due to being metallic? Um..what? Isn't it only melee platebodies?
  10. Yeah, xp is staggered so you'll never actually get that high of a number. You could also fletch bolts or alch or something for xp after you land a hit?
  11. As far as numbers go, Fire surging monsters such as abyssal demons is fantastic magic xp, and can top 100k/hr and is typically on-par with the magic xp you get for barraging rock lobs (if not higher). That being said, there is absolutely no reason to alch, since you could be using combat magic and get much more out of your time (not to mention potential high-earning drops and money saved by selling the battlestaves instead of alching them), so I would advise making the staves for crafting xp (assuming you want it) and just selling them straight off. Now I know you can't use Fire Surge yet, but I can't imagine the rate being astronomically lower for Earth or Water surge.
  12. I think there might be a set amount of damge you have to hit past to even be rewarded the zerker title. I could be wrong though. Oh yes that's certainly part of it. You need to do past a certain proportion of damage based off the size and complexity of the floor (explaining how you can still get the titles in c1s).
  13. I don't think you have to tie. I've seen a fair number of dungeons where Berserker wasn't awarded, definitely way too many to be attributed to blind luck on getting PERFECT ties. I think the system allows for a fair bit of leniency. Still though, it's tough for there not to be a Berserker.
  14. As Quyneax said, you're honestly fine and should be able to dg effectively. 83 summoning will let you use t9 bloodragers, however be aware most teams will only make t10 bloodragers unless there are 3+ people who use t9, so be aware that most of the time you probably will not be using bloodragers. 79 prayer will do if you have Piety unlocked. Also, if at all possible, try to flick Piety throughout the dungeon. It's a bit much to ask for to make it mandatory, but it does help a ton, trust me. You can flick protection prayers as well, although this is really for your own benefit (conserving prayer) rather than for the team's. Flicking Piety saves prayer, but also speeds up killing a lot. And as far as runecrafting, 70 is really only for binding and using the Celesial Surgebox. You can quite honestly do fine without it, especially if you're only going for 99/100. Bind Bloods instead and try to make Surge runes in your downtime (~30 casts of your best surge spell should suffice if you only mage stuff like Forgotten Warriors).
  15. A celestial catalytic staff and chaotic crossbow and fire runes? I don't get it. You attach the fire runes to the end of the staff and fire it out of the crossbow. Idiot.... CCB = Chaotic Crossbow CSB = Celestial Surgebox. :ugeek: CSBCSSCBBCCCSBCSBSCSBSCBSCSBSBBSCSBSCB @@@

  17. This. To everyone who is saying "omg 5000 cw games shouldn't be a requirement", well, why the hell didn't you complain so much when they updated the Castle Wars rewards months ago? How come not nearly as big of a outcry was heard along the lines of "why is there such a high-tier reward for CW?". If you cared so much about people no-lifing CW, why rant now, months after when it was appropriate? Because this time the cape is better? That's hypocrisy, and besides there's really no sympathy if you care about something only when it affects you. Well damnit, now that it's part of the game, you can't be a completionist of the game until you get it. Too bad, too sad.
  18. *Proud owner of CCS+CCB* All your fire runes are belong to us.
  19. The CW games is just one of the requirements. You don't get all 99s and 120 DG, 4000 chompy kills, champ scrolls and the other crap playing 1 hour a day. The time investment is massive, people with lives outside RS simply cannot afford the time to do that. That's a pretty dangerous, sweeping generalization.
  20. Yes. Keep at it, try to go to houses with a lot of rainbows as this indicates a higher chance that the person is active in dream world, which in turns means that the garden will be updated for frequently and will have more garden beds. Also try to add said people. Also visit houses of Pokemon that have visited yours. Is that the doormat thing to find out who has visited yours right? Yup. Also Dream Pal Requests you receive are forwarded there.
  21. Does tank ring's damage absorb work like standard absorb (only 200+ hits), or like Ely/Div's (on all hits)?
  22. Boots tend to give lower strength bonuses in favor of higher defense bonuses.

  24. So if you have a CCS, you have both mage rings on quick-switch? Or do you just start off on Blazer and slow-switch to Blitzer later, keeping Berserker on Quick Switch?
