I train with normal combat, not with slayer though, I just train on whatever I feel like.

Both Kotor 1 and 2 are great games, but for me the replay value wasn't that good. I played once as light side and once as dark for both games, but then I didn't play them at all after that. When you get to the later levels in Kotor2, I found it was easier to play as a dark side character, because the chain lightning force power didn't cost too much energy or whatever it is. Couple that with the ability thingy that regenerates your mana and you can own multiple enemies with ease. I haven't really played the game in that long, but from what you say, you should get your lightsaber pretty quick from what I can remember.
