  1. Name: Guild Wars Screenshots: Check their website or GWonline Pros: - The graphics is truly awesome. Each new spot in the game just blows your mind; the lighting, how the atmosphere changes, the effects when you cast a spell, as well as the monsters, how realistic your cape moves when you're running around as well as fighting etc.... really nice. The screenshots don't do the game any justice. - The amount of quests this game has is unbelievable, and so far, the main quest is very nice. - The clan/guild system this game has is something I haven't experienced in any other MMORPG before. You can tell they have put their main effort into this aspect of the game. When you create a new guild, you get to design the guild cape (all members in your guild will get one), from, what seems to be an unlimited amount of cape-designs, emblems and colours. When you have enough money, you can also buy a Guild Hall for your guild, which is like a lounge for the members to hang around in (I haven't been in one personally though, but I very much like the idea.) Cons: - Guild Wars is too combat-oriented for my liking. It would be nice to have a few extra skills to train, like mining and smithing. - The game is very linear, in the sense that you can't for example walk off edges, jump over tree branches, and some areas that should be "walk-able" aren't. So basically, you can't stroll around on your own, which is one of the main things I look for in RPGs. Basically, it's a lot/exactly like the Neverwinter Nights series. Those things are basically the reason I'm thinking of moving over to WoW. Neutral: Due to the linear-ness (uh) the game has, the only place you can meet people is in the cities, since, basically, each road you take will lead you to a quest or a tough boss... so imagine if it wasn't like that, it would be chaos. Another thing is that the (current) combat-level cap is 20. It takes you around two or three weaks to reach that (depending how many hours you play... but I'd say 2-3 hours a day.) Other info: There are no monthly fees. But they will release expansions (Guild Wars: Factions will be released 28th of April). However, you don't need to buy those in order to keep playing, but they will bring advantages such as new classes and items etc.
  2. Holy crap I want this game so much. But sadly, my computer wouldn't be able to handle it (Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.60ghz, 512mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 SE.) Anyway, I talked to a mate who got it, and he says the voice acting is kinda bad (lacks feeling), and something about the monsters moving weird and choppy. But then again, he's running it on lowest quality.
  3. *disregards the complete lack of effort and thought the author put into writing this thread* Damn right I do! I'll see them later this year for the second time. *wop* One thing I don't get though are the people who say, "Iron Maiden died when Di'Anno left!!!1" I mean, seriously... the guy recorded two albums with the band, whoopdedoo. [bleep]inson has been with the band for 16 albums (including the three or so live albums and two "best of" albums.) However, I really like the Di'Anno-era songs (Prowler, Iron Maiden, Phantom Of The Opera, Murders In The Rue Morgue, Running Free etc. etc.), and his voice is great. With that said, I prefer [bleep]inson's. :P
  4. Ah yes, I hoped it would be this one. I've always been a big fan of it. However, I'm sorry to say, but I preferred the other text/version better. It would look much better if you just used plain white text with a drop shadow, imo.
  5. You deserve my respect simply because of the colours you use. Please keep it up.
  6. Not so hard, was it? :P (you didn't have to explain the entire video though) Sorry if I was a bit harsh, it's just that the sudden increasement of threads where the author goes "i like [insert object/artist/band/candy/soda here], do you?" (or when the author just copy/pastes a link and press 'submit') really irks me. ... Not that it matters what I think. I'll watch it tomorrow!
  7. Yes. Because, god forbid, spending a few extra seconds explaining what the video is about could kill you, right? It's not like I'm asking for a huge essay, just a bit of common sense.
  8. Wit. I won't click that. And I wish this place had a rule against lame threads like this one (i.e people posting threads without giving any thoughts into them, "i like metalica, do u?") Is it really that hard?
  9. I won't click that unless you explain what the hell I'm clicking.

    guitar tabs

Guitar Pro is a very good program, it works like Powertab, but from what I've heard, it's got a bunch of stuff Powertab doesn't. It costs money, but, as I said, it's great. When I started out, I mostly learned Iron Maiden riffs, and some of them are great practice and easy enough for a beginner. The 'Fear Of The Dark' intro for example, or 'Blood Brothers'.
  11. God I hate snow... it was below 15 here a few days ago, around 1+ meter snow. I also don't get you guys over there, I can't remember school ever being cancelled due to snow over here, and I live in freakin Sweden.
  12. Les Paul is just the model (hope that's the right word), you can get one for below 100$... - not a very good one, but a Les Paul nonetheless. It's the Gibson Les Pauls that tend to cost. But even then, if you get a studio version, it doesn't have to be excessively expensive.
  13. Wow, how could I forget Satch? Put him on my list as well.
  14. Ted Nugent... and that's about it. Maybe Van Halen.
  15. Yeah... uhm, I'm really bad at explaining, especially in English, so I've got a sample of my problem: http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=16VODR764FX7612PMABVCQ5CVD I'm sorry for going around the censor on that one, so feel free to remove it if you feel it's necessary. It's an mp3, 283kb, obviously completely safe, since I'm a computer ignoramus. Putfile's services aren't available atm. and I don't know any other upload sites where you can "listen" to the audio from the site (meaning, you don't have to download it.) Anyway, yeah, my problem is pretty obvious, right? The sound goes (in lack of better words) dodgy after x-amount of time. In that one I had connected the computer straight from the amp, using a cable, and plugging it into the mic port on my laptop. I get the same result even if I'm using a mic, and place in infront of the amp. I just think this is very weird, since it worked perfectly 4-5 months ago. I have also tried it on another computer, and it's the same. Umm, I don't know what else sort of information I can give you... - it's got a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio soundcard. If you have any questions, ask away! Thanks in advance. :) edit- forgot to say, I'm playing the exact same thing over and over again, if that's to any help.
  16. I can't download any of the videos... TGA requires you to sign-up to download, which I won't. And on Filefront it loads for a while, then stops; nothing happens. Upload them on better sites.
  17. Very nice, I love the colours. The face (her facial expression etc.) are very well done.
  18. Stood in line for 3+ hours today in the cold (~ -8C) from 6 am to 9 am to get tickets to Iron Maiden. But we got them! (as seen in my signature)
  19. Dave Mustaine - Megadeth. Phil Lynott - Thin Lizzy.
  20. I think it was a relevant post, which is more than I can say about yours. Go Sweden!
  21. Well yeah, of course. Even I see that. I was just posting them to show that he's not the kind of person that would need to "fake" a painting. Even if the quality between the old pieces and the new one aren't really comparable, however, the old ones are still good paintings. I personally find them awesome, still. As for the "making him look less talented", I dunno if I would reason like that... but maybe that's just me. I'll leave this thread now. :P
  22. How? They thought he had just re-done a photograph. I posted his "old work" (which is the only work I have from him) to prove that he actually is a good artist, and would be capable of doing the piece he just posted. I'm confused as to how it would "hinder his chances of being believed", since they're hell a lot better than 98% of the crap posted at this forum.
  23. Haha, if any of you who've said "omg cropped photo!!" had actually been around a few years ago, when ColAvanor was active here, you'd keep your mouths shut, and you would know what a talented painter/brusher ColAvanor is. Just to prove my point: (I hope you're ok with me posting these, Col) Owned. (brilliant piece btw.)
  24. I used to listen to X-Japan (or Japan-X? I forget) several years ago. They had a few good songs. I don't listen to it anymore though.
