  1. Making money has always been a big part of the game. Hell even moreso in RS1 because we didn't have skill capes or anything like that, there was less focus on leveling so lots of people just spent their time making money to buy rares and such. Although the whole mainstream metagaming and efficiency part of it came later. It is a valid complaint though. There are games where in order to get the best weapons/armour and such you need to complete various challenges. So your gear is determined by your lvl and personal skill rather than by how much money you got. Unfortunately RS isn't one of those games. Well there are a couple of items like that eg rhino cape.
  2. During April and May I planted lots of seeds to make some seedlings for my garden this summer. I was going on vacation for a month so I left the seedlings in the care of one of my mother's friend. I met her a few times and she seemed fairly reliable. Of course you can't expect someone else to take care of your seedlings as well as yourself, so during the sowing I had planted extra in anticipation that some would die. When I came back to pick up the seedlings, ALL of them were dead except for a few cucumbers. The surviving cucumbers had hardly grown at all since a month before. Put near a window and water, how hard can it be? I can't imagine what would have happened if I had left my cat in her care "Oh oops I forgot to feed him, here's the corpse. Bye now!" >.> Now I'll have to waste cash buying seedlings that have been already grown. Won't be the same though, the seeds I had planted were organic plus were varieties I had specially chosen for the type of weather we get. Whatever, better than no garden...
  3. Any slow skill is a good choice, out of those agility. If you have the charms for 99 then no point in using the neck. Charms are the time-consuming part, once you have them the pouch-making part is cake, don't waste the neck on that. If you were short on charms to get 99 the normal way then using the neck would be good.
  4. The people actually working on the game are probably cool, but with investors in charge of things there's nothing they can do. Insight has 55% so they have the deciding vote, and being investors all they'll want is money.
  5. Shouldn't you be outraged that you're paying 35k/year rather than hating on people who pay less? The Quebec students are fighting hard for every inch, they've been going at it for months and not giving in. If the gov had their way the prices would be higher but they know they can't [bleep] with the students - they'd never let them get away with it. While students in other countries have bent over to paying ridiculous prices and are being trapped in an endless wheel of debt. You're the ones that should be up in arms doing something but you're not. If anything there's a lesson about spirit to be taken away from this. Maybe if you got angry a little more often you would actually change something. I guess you missed my post about the government being 250 billion in debt? Really, it's a choice for the students. Pay more now and continue to get some subsidy, or continue to be over-subsidized until the government goes bankrupt and stops subsidizing completely. Not missed, I wasn't going to reply to you to begin with. But if you want to know, I pretty much ignored your comment because you're clueless. The gov has been trying to erase the debt for 20 years. They never actually managed to erase any, but they broke even on many years. In recent years the debt has been slowly growing, but nothing significant, they've changed the way they tally the debt so it appears worse than it actually is. In 1970 the debt was zero. The debt comes from the 1970s and 1980s when the gov was spending wildly on various services and programs. Basically the generation from the 1970s led a nice comfortable life and now the current generation is paying for the follies of the previous generation. Due to the interest alone it's unlikely the gov will ever erase the debt, best they can do is keep it under control like they've been doing by breaking even. The debt has 0 relevance to university subsidy. In Quebec a middle-class citizen will see roughly 50% of their income taken away by various taxes. That's the money that's being used to run universities. Education doesn't actually use up a lot of the money. Most of the money is used up by health care, the population is aging and sick, the hospitals are full. The gov doesn't need more money from students. The main problem, unsurprisingly for a society where the gov takes away and controls nearly half of your money, is that the money is not being managed properly.

  7. I don't mind people that use rich vocabulary so long as they aren't deliberately being pedantic. Sometimes it allows you to convey nuances that would otherwise be lost. If I don't know what a word means, I look it up, it's always nice to learn.
  8. Well I've been on a cruise for the entire past month. Internet was 25$/hour on the boat, so that was out of the question :P I'll come around to reading all the news I missed sometime, but in the meantime can you give me a quick run-down of what's new/what happened?
  9. apple juice has a lot of sugar, might as well grab a soda or something If you take a freshly made apple juice vs a soda. While they both contain sugar, the apple juice contains vitamins and minerals which make up for it. The soda is just empty calories. Although in the case of the person who posted, he was probably drinking store-bought apple juice which is pasteurized, so doesn't contain much vitamins and minerals at all, and probably additional sugar was added to it. The only apple juice worth drinking is the one you juice yourself. Especially if you have a low-RPM juicer because then no vitamins are lost to oxidation.
  10. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of event to introduce runespan. I would be excited about it if it weren't for the fact I already zmi'ed to 99 a long time ago.
  11. Except when they save less than 5 minutes. Yep, I feel like that's what the OP is asking. It's +1 str over the barrow gloves and a few more attack points. Also they sparkle. I'd go for it :P
  12. Always worth it takes like 5 mins tops to get a new pair
  13. WTF >.> why would noobs get free spins but we old players don't
  14. People who continuously have their TV on. There are some TV shows I follow every week, when I watch them I turn on the TV for the hour and watch with full attention, and when it's finished I close the TV. The house is nice and quiet most of the time. There are some people where you walk into their house and the TV is just constantly on, they're not even watching it. The constant disruptive noise and background chatter is very annoying. Restaurants are the same but it's worse. Restaurants are already very noisy with people talking and tableware clinking, but then they add music, they add a TV, sometimes even two TVs on different channels, and all this sound bounces around off the walls into a cacophony. Sometimes you can't even hear other people at the same table because of how obnoxiously loud it is.
  15. I dislike it when food manufacturers take the liberty to add stuff to food that not everyone wants. Let's take for example tomato paste. Most manufacturers add sugar and salt to it. If I wanted sugar or salt in it, I'd add some myself. Or take cereal, almost all cereal has sugar added to it. A cereal could be perfectly healthy except for that one ingredient that they just assume we want, which ends up ruining the product. If I wanted sugar in it, I'd add it myself. It can be challenging sometimes to find products that don't have all that crap added to them. The sad thing is, those products sell. That means for every person like me who likes their ingredients as genuine as possible, there's a dozen of people that are just mindlessly eating whatever.
  16. People in charge in schools always assume that the students are wrong and the teacher is right. By the looks of it the poster is 16 to 18 so no chance in hell that they will take her seriously. See they only give a shit when several parents get involved. It's not like uni where people start treating you like you're actually a person. Plus no matter how bad a teacher is, only a handful of students can be bothered or are brave enough to report it. Having recorded evidence cuts out the BS and the teacher won't be able to lie or talk herself out of it.
  17. He's not really black, just tanned. Maybe he's been dungeoneering a lot lately and lost his tan. Or the shop ran out of spray-on.
  18. So what does the GE catherby and ardy have in common? I doubt it's a graphical update since GE already got that. Doubt it's optimus since it's not related to specific areas.
  19. Imo you shouldn't be too passive when dealing with her, she'll walk all over you. Stand up to her politely when she's being obviously unreasonable. Gather evidence, do whatever you need to do to build your case. Also :shades:
  20. People buy hexes? Wouldn't the person just run away with it and not pay?
  21. I'm on vacation for the whole month of may, so I'll miss the bonus spins and whatever the wild weekends are :/ I hope it's not too good lol
  22. You mean prior to this update right? I'm curious how it was 'stolen' wasn't there an update a good few months back now that makes it so that only the killer of the monster can see the slayer drop within DG due to the very issue of people stealing rare drops after letting someone else do the work of killing the monster. the answers are pretty self-evident first edimmu he killed, as in a long time ago before 30 seconds exclusivity edimmu, dropped a blood neck which was sniped since then he saw 7 more that dropped nothing he obviously didn't kill 8 edimmus today Saw 4 eddimus in 5 high occs today, 8 is reasonably possible This wasn't about whether a person could see 8 edimmus today It was clear that r3nnn didn't see the 8 edimmus today as he talking about the past when 30 seconds limit didn't exist if you can't see the difference between those two then don't [bleep]ing reply to me amazing
