200M in all Skills
If he puts in offers now, he could still get a fair chunk of xp this way by the time he's done with everything else. Not a viable training method in the sense that you probably can't buy it and do it immediately, but if you have a few weeks to let the stuff come in... Or he could start doing penguins every week and jack of trades each day. Heh.

My Gelpen Work
Yeah, I usually outline with silver/black/blue to begin with, but it tends to get colored over afterward. I've been playing with going over the outlines after coloring in, which I did in that last pic - I think it works well.

Pixel Sig WIP
I'd keep the outline, but I agree that it's hard to judge without the shading and background in place.

- My Gelpen Work
So, now and then I get the urge to do some gelpen.... stuff. It's rather hard to explain, so I'll just post whatever I have scanned in here. Which right now is just the one, but meh. Sometimes I start with pre-made patterns, like in this one; sometimes I just free-draw the squigglies on a whole page; sometimes I'll put in someone's name or the like in the middle and fiddle with stuff around it. Really depends on the mood and what I have readily available. I do try to avoid using any patterns that have copyrights. I explicitly deny anyone the privilege to use these images anywhere else, even if credited. If you'd like to do so, PM me and we'll talk. [spoiler=6/17/2012] With this one, I started with a snowflake pattern, did some geometry around it, then filled the rest of the page with squigglies. This one is a bit old - I've since stopped trying to use black as a filler anywhere, heh. Just stands out waaay too much in the end. Looking at this now also makes me miss that olive-green color... can't find it anywhere else. It seems like there's only one big gel-pen ink producer who sells to all the different companies, so wildly different brands of pens tend to have the exact same colors repeated a ton... but I haven't found that one since it ran out. This is by far the oldest of the ones I still have today... pretty sure I started it in middle school. As you can see, I tried using pastels/neons/black in here and it just didn't work at all, heh. I have yet to finish this one... got mildly disappointed when I realized I would rather have switched color schemes from the snowflake to the squigglies. >.> I want to do this over that way sometime, but I really should finish this one too. And here's what I've been working on tonight... I'd show the whole thing, but it's a secret. ;) This much has taken me about... four to six hours to do, though I've been training firemaking at the same time and doing the odd chore in the midst of that. And I also drew the outlines, and you can't see the whole thing, so... meh. But that's a decent estimate when considering how long it takes to do an entire page for me, complicated by my joint issues that make it fairly painful as well. That's why I don't do more of these, honestly. [spoiler=6/27/12]Got home from Denmark yesterday, spent most of the evening (and well into the night, heh) working on the secret thing. Here's what I've done so far (partially censored):- New skill at the end of 2013
It works well enough that there's an entire bard class dedicated to it. Which was never good enough at any one thing to justify putting in a four-player party. >.>- New skill at the end of 2013
Can you explain this a little more please? I'm a bit confused. An investment of 750k (over ten days) will net you several million GP in stuff. It's like a form of controlled botting because you can literally just set your account and bam, the stuff you get will literally pay for itself. He means something like a set-it-and-forget-it type thing/ Yeah, it's a 'shortcut' around normal grinding to gain GP/XP, so... kind of.- New skill at the end of 2013
I know, Jagex should just put all their development time and resources into constantly churning out skills regardless of how shit they are! /sarcasm Because THAT statement is LOGICALLY the one that should be inferred. Sigh. Don't use logical fallacies. And there's totally no such thing as sarcasm. >.> Part of the problem is that the updates tend to be very small and come very slowly, though it's a trend that they've started to avert with their combat overhaul. Hopefully we see that kind of thing for other skills. I think I'd rather have it be relatively small and frequent updates with the occasional clunker than the other way around... takes too long to adjust after the clunkers that have such a big impact on the game.- New skill at the end of 2013
Most of those are not actually any meaningful updates. They merely reduce the grinding and make skills easier to train, they don't actually introduce any meaningful high level content. There are exceptions to this of course, such as herblore, which they did indeed do a great job at(Overloads, Extremes, Flasks etc.). I disagree. Most of the things he listed are very good updates. Construction garb is not game changing, but Juju potions were a huge boost for farming. Monkey Knife fighters wasn't that big true. But a lot of skills that didn't have much have had huge impact. Which specifically are you referring to? Maybe its because you as a player didn't like their impact. It also depends on what you consider to be a 'meaningful update'. I consider pretty much all of those to be meaningful. Also, high level content isn't the only kind of content that matters - I think it gets more than it's fair share of focus on a regular basis. I'm sure I'm biased there, since I can't use much of the 'high-level content' in the game (yet), but that just proves my point - there are players who don't really benefit from high-level content, and so there needs to be updates that aren't geared towards maxed and nearly-maxed players.- RuneScape Races towards Historic Milestone!
Eh, I think it is kinda cool that their game is popular enough to have /that/ many recorded attempts at cheating to get ahead in it. Still. 3mil away. That counter will be there a while, I think.- Pictures of those TIFers -- 2.0
Bahaha. You seemed to srsly try and avoid it, too; going down the ladder, then back up, then disappearing. Tooooooo slow. ;) Edit@v: Or that. Heh. (PS I <3 your siggy.)- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
It really does help to make the conscious decision to be perfectly happy without having a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's not as easy as just saying that, but it does help. And, (especially when it comes to attracting women,) things have a way of turning around after you've convinced yourself of that. It's the convincing yourself of it bit that's difficult, heh.- Real life help & advice
I've heard that for napping, less than half an hour or right about an hour and a half is best, to wake either before entering REM or right at the end of your first REM cycle. An hour and a half works veeery well for me when I can fit it in, though that takes some work. If you have a smart phone, there's some apps made to help with lucid dreaming that can track your sleep cycles - might be worth a look if you want to do some research. Edit@v: Whoops, dropped an important word there. Less than half an hour or right about an hour and a half. Napping for an hour is something I used to do, but after experimenting a bit I actually felt much better with just half an hour. Or, again, an hour and a half.- The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
That would make it incredibly more difficult to fight some bosses. For PvP that might be a good idea, but not PvM. And since I don't PvP, I can't say I care much about PvP-only problems, heh.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Snide messages might mean she's gotten tired of the 'friend' and is looking for new prey (or re-using old). Regardless, ignore ignore ignore.- The Style Thread
Looking back and seeing the discussion on black suits, I have to add: As a musician, a black suit and a tux are pretty much mandatory to own (I have to wear my tux twice and suit three times at minimum in a semester at uni). And black suits can look excellent with a black shirt as well as a white one, if the right person's wearing it.- Tip.It Times - 10th June 2012
Gotta say the fish mask article was the best of the lot, and it wasn't that great... but that may just be me. The game theory article was... interesting... but I didn't see much point to it. There was no real lesson to learn from that, from what I could tell, so it didn't seem to fit with what is usually in the Times. The DG article had me mentally screaming "Gaah! NONONONONO" by the end of it. I'm not a fan of dungeoneering, I don't consider it a skill, and I don't enjoy training it - that may change with time, but I'm still pretty likely to just solo it rather than working with a team. That's just how I play. So the idea that Jagex should have taken the solo-only QBD and made it into another team-required boss makes me facepalm. A lot. While I appreciate that it would be kinda cool, it'd just be another piece of content that's useless to me. I'm still hoping for more content aimed at solo players like me, so I can't really like articles that support more team-based content.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
...I popped in here out of curiosity (short version: I'm a gay male, in college, seemingly getting control of some severe mental health challenges, interested in finding romantic relationships despite living in the not-so-gay-friendly South), and have to thank whoever it was that linked to blackdragonblog. I definitely don't share his priorities, but I definitely do share a lot of how he looks at life (not emotionless, just rational says much of what I hadn't yet found a way to say myself). I have to stop and think to take what he says and make it fit with my priorities (I'm much more interested in and comfortable with serial monogamy than OLTR), but he presents it in a way that makes an enormous amount of sense to me, while almost everything else I've read on the subject does not. So, huge thanks.- The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
An increase to Constitution is possible... very, very possible.... I try not to care that 9 looks weird as a cap, since skills are capped at level 99. >.<- Pictures of those TIFers -- 2.0
I didn't really expect to snipe anyone at flingers... but then there were four, two who I hadn't ever seen in-game before, so I couldn't resist.- Why has RuneScape turned into just making money?
*shrug* I don't do much with the active objective of making money, I just do what I enjoy and often make gp from it. I tend to hate grinding, so I don't really do that or feel pressured into doing that.- Pictures of those TIFers -- 2.0
Witchy came by to say hi not long after, but I took this before she found me.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
HYT-ers got together to fling some fish, and did quite well!- 06-June-2012 : Fish Flingers Improvements + Squeal of Neptune
Yeah, that's pretty much where I am on all this. I still enjoy the game, never was much of one for merching anyway, so this update doesn't have a huge impact on my playstyle. Not a huge fan, but not gonna ragequit cause of it either. I'll just keep on quietly skilling in the background... I do love the FF update, btw. Though I think it definitely could've used some better bug-testing before being released. Oh, and... (emphasis mine) Wat (I get that you can go F2P as a form of boycott, but it wouldn't be very effective, and it kinda ruins the "Time Saved" bit of that siggy if you're still playing at all.)- 200M in all Skills
Ff may not be as good as c2 fishing for XP, but it's infinitely more fun. Not to mention that it couldn't really be a competitive training method when you can only do two games per day. More likely to be worth getting the outfit than gold mining/lumberjack, too, since the XP is still decent (and it's one less piece for the 2.5% bonus than the other outfits). Not to mention the tackleboxes. - My Gelpen Work
