  1. Beasts of burden are summoning familiars. You need to train the summoning skill to use them. Note that summoning affects your combat level. It does not affect your combat level on PvP worlds though, unless you have a familiar summoned at the time.
  2. I'd never complain a bout a Wyvern task :) I always use Duradel. Wyvers are a great task, i like them a lot :) Hopefully I'll feel the same about them when I get my first Wyverns task. Just hit 72 slayer today, so they should be coming.
  3. Definitely use Duradel. Block hellhounds, iron drags, steels(your call on those, I'd probably block them), and another monster of your choice. I personally didn't used to like Black demon tasks but now I don't mind them as I get a decent profit(made ~200k on my last task of 149 demons) and plenty of charms. I also range them so I lose less money by not spending money on food/prayer potions.
  4. Bronze-Steel took me around 2k tokens. And then I got Mith-Rune in about 400. So it's pretty random.
  5. Who buys that stuff? That's the real question. Let them overtax, if people are willing to buy stuff from the Jagex store still then oh well.
  6. Not much discussion tbh, should be in questionaires maybe?
  7. Don't write your post all in one color, it's extremely frustrating when I have to highlight it in order to be able to read it(due to the theme I'm using).
  8. Which is the worst part as there was no need for it to be changed.
  9. I kind of hope Rimmington doesn't get updated and attract tons of new people. It's a nice place to cut yews on F2P since it's usually empty.
  10. How long till this word gets censored in RS?
  11. This. And I think you meant to say sliced raw toast.
  12. I also can't run it. Makes this my least favorite update until I can.
  13. They were definitely thinking similar to us TIF'ers. ;) Edit: What's with the scam tags?
  14. This is about the trade limit not GE. GE=November 2007 Trade limit=January 2008 Most people seem to see the GE is the first part of the Trade limit update, and then the actual limit as the second part. Honestly not many people used the GE before the trade limit was in place so it wasn't widely used when first introduced. So the effects of the GE are somewhat the same effects of the trade limit(not really the way I wanted to word it but, meh). The trade limit was a rough update for me at first, because I'm so used to helping out friends(and also being helped) through donations and such when working towards big goals. But I've gotten used to it so that's about the only thing it's changed for me. I also used to merchant a bit as part of my source of income but I've stopped that since the introduction of the trade limit. I still make money just fine so it hasn't stopped me from being able to do that.
  15. nope more flax in the game that people can get freely a day means flax will decrease dramatically, i think theyre trying to help out people abit because of the cost of fletching these days (havent done it so just taking a blind swipe) But flax will fall. Off topic- a random portal in the chaos tunnels just turned me into a cotton toastie. Good point. Well, this could lead to profits, or at least loss, in alching then.
  16. This be the best update of the new year for sure :o Mmm, wonder where mobilizing armies went.. I'm absolutely not worried about mobilising armies atm. I'm as excited for the upgrades as for the new content! Re-ordering spells, increasing the log out timer, a helpful look over of the censor(everyone in sodb clan chat knows EXACTLY how I feel about the censor lol). And also this: Does this mean could be a better option for powertraining than willows?(Doubt it as willows are so fast but there's a possibility). And a flax picker! This combined with MTK could bring in serious profits. I'm also more than a little excited about the phoenix(looks at avatar) Edit: Whoops changed avatar for the holidays, changing back shortly.
  17. the others were: Dragon claws Slayer helm Explorer's ring Other Elite black armour Inferno adze Dagon'hai robes Maggie's broomstick Spirit shield I choose Slayer Helm, even though I don't have it yet.
  18. Answer: No, it's not AFKing because you're still at your computer. Off Topic: I see myself talking in IRC on Toast's screenie, lol. And I wish I knew if my comp had the space to dl movies to watch while Scaping(portable DVD player ftw though.)
  19. There's an unofficial one. #tip-it
  20. I also would rather listen to my own music, plus sometimes the in-game music lags me. Or at least it used to, I haven't had in-game music on in about a year.
  21. I only notice this in certain places(usually places where your combat is a factor like when training slayer or playing a minigame like CW). Whenever I go to Piscatoris to fish or I'm on a farming run, people are generally nice regardless. I think it also helps that rather than paying attention to the rude, immature people, I pay attention to how many nice people there are. I think if more people did this in general there would be less complaining about the "maturity" level of players.
  22. A lot of people use the fury, it's not underrated.
  23. There's a lot of skills that can still make you money if you use them right(farming for instance). But for the most part the reason some skills no longer make money is indeed because of the release of skillcapes in the huge surge of people who are determined to get 99s as fast as possible. They buy all the raw materials so the demand increases, and then flood the market with the finished products reducing the prices. Prime examples of this are raw vs. cooked fish and the price of logs vs. the price of finished bows. The only way to still make money is to gather the raw materials yourself, but by making them into the finished product you end up making less money than you would have if you sold the raw materials. I think it's a shame that when I'm looking to make some money and not just experience, I have to decide if the extra experience is worth losing some GP by transferring my raw materials into finished products. At the moment my bank account is kind of low value so I'm selling raw materials although I'd rather be getting the extra experience(which I'll get another time). But, that's just the way the game has changed. Even without the release of skillcapes I think that this would have happened anyway as there would be some time when more people were going for 99s as efficiently as possible.
  24. They're really useful when fighting a monster where regular attack and strength potions would suffice and you can save inventory space. I personally use combat potions when I'm killing cyclops' for extra defenders rather than attack and strength potions.
  25. Hmm.. I have a whip but I can't afford a fury. Would I be better off buying Obby Knife and Necklace(I'll keep whip for monsters that hit harder) for everything else? At least until I can afford to spend the money for a fury. Edit: This would be for strength training of course, I love my whip for attack/defense. I feel like the Dragon Halberd is a bit underrated nowadays. I simply just don't see as many around as I used to although I use mine from time to time as a nice alternative for meleeing tasks that I would have otherwise ranged from a safespot.
