  1. I got to level 54 purely from Tears of Guthix, genie lamps, exam etc. It only took me a few weeks to get this level. It would take far too much of my time to work it out from level 4 summoning so i will post figures from level 52. Starting from level 52 you could make 10,000 Terrorbirds with your gold charms. there is no point making anyhitng else as this gives you good exp per coin as you can get bird meats from ooglog for 20gp each. This would get you 684,000 exp and take you to level 70 (807,660 exp) Greens cost more per exp point so I will calculate crimsons next. You would make 1,025 stranger plants (another 288,640 exp) which would take you to level 74. From there on you could use the rest of your crimsons, 1,975, on Granite lobsters (643,060 exp). In total you would have 1,739,360 exp by this point and a level of 78. If you made the best green charm familiar time 5k for your level which is Giant Ent then you would get to level 82 Summoning (2,423,360 exp). Making 500 moss titans at that level would get your another 347,600 exp taking you up another level to 83. Why you haven't used those charms yet amazes me.
  2. The only reason I can see for nerfing the exp element of the Phoenix is that its a powerful familiar to use in combat situations and Jagex would rather people use it in battle and not use it for training summoning and thus creating millions of unused pouches.
  3. Now that the exp has been nerfed, expect that price to drop dramatically. When you factor in the cost of the quill it equates to 15.03 gp per exp after swapping shards with Bogrog. This is in comparison to 4.16 for a Granite lobster.
  4. I must say I pretty much ignored Summoning for much of last year. The costs of everything put me off and I generally wasn't in the mood to fight stuff to collect charms. Instead I got all the nooby 99s, Cooking, Fletching, Firemaking, as well as Fishing and Woodcutting which aren't quite as nooby lol. I only started playing again properly at the beginning of last year so I figured getting some easy skills finished would be a good start in getting back into the game. This year however things are going to change and I have decided that my skill goals for 2009 include 99 Defence, Hitpoints and Summoning. I expect this to take up most of the year because I still haven't got into the hardcore fighting mood and get bored after a while of charm collecting and either do other stuff like Stealing Creation or just log off. After seeing what all the really cool familiars can do from my friend who is already 99 I have really changed my tune as it were from being rather apathetic to the skill (mostly due to experience of batch 1) to being really into it. Rarely am I seen without a familiar or pet in-game and I expect it to soon come to a time where I am never without. 2.75% of Crimson charms collected lol.
  5. It was added by a vandal and fairly quickly removed.
  6. The error is yours. Quote from the Runescape Wiki "the base does not restock"
  7. You are level 68 summoning why arent you using a Bunyip? It's the equivalent of 17 cooked sharks which is more than you can store in a Terrorbird.
  8. Battlestaffs and Bork reset at 00:00 Jagex time. Sand and Misc are unfortunatly from the time you collect the sand. I wish that all the repeatable stuff reset at the same time each day or week. A problem I have encountered with Tears of Guthix is that it gets later and later everytime I do it until it skips a day and the cycle continues. I think my Tears is on Sundays now but in the near fiture will move to mondays as its already getting very late.
  9. It would be nice instead of doing some of those tasks daily you could do them weekly and get 5-7 times the exp or whatever. If you actually did all of those daily tasks you'd never get anything else done.
  10. The price that the quills are going for on the street is ridiculous. Some people are paying upwards of 20k for a quill. Like some others have said its effectively a crimson charm which people pay in the region of 4k worth of runes in bursting at rock lobs. I would be very surprised if the quill levels out at higher than 5k after a few weeks of fluctuating. Also just need to post this smilie  for all those that invested millions in ashes ^_^ =D>
  11. Dissapointing that there is no summoning exp reward either from the quest or repeatable task.
  12. Even IF ashes are the secondary ingredient all the people investing might be in for a big loss coming up. It takes about 35k charms for get to 99 Summoning and IF the Phoenix provides fairly good exp and stays about that rate then you are talking about only spending 280k on secondary ingredients. When training up summoning you dont normally do more than a few thousand of each pouch before moving onto the next best exp for your level. If the Phoenix is around the level 70 region then the average person is only going to make 4 or 5 thousand of them. 5k*8gp is only 40k. However when you look at the exp rates for summoning familiars you notice that the ones that have easy to obtain ingredients yeild a lot less exp than others. A Ravenous Locust (lvl 70 summoning) which uses flour (45gp on the GE) is 132exp per pouch while Stranger Plant (lvl 64) is 281.6 exp and Granite Lobster (lvl 74) is 325.6 exp. With ashes being such an easy to obtain second and the familiar probably being a mid level it will not give enough exp to make it a worthwhile training option and thus the demand for seconds will not be in sufficient amounts to make a decent profit by selling ashes. Also with Bogrog exchanging pouches for more shards at 70% there isn't really a junk value in summoning because you get real value back out of it. Lastly, if you are buying at max on the GE then you are already too late and missed the boat for making a fast buck when/if ashes are the secondary ingredient. I expect the secondary ingredient to be untradeable and as reward from the quest/daily repeatable award they are adding. The pouches will be tradeable but due to the nature of obtaining seconds the trade value will be higher (note the prices of the pest control familiars)
  13. Question them only when you are CHARGED 17.5% VAT not just because its advertised as such. Walk into any supermarket and look at the prices on the shelves and virtually all of them will show the higher rate.
  14. It's a cool looking cape and does require a lot of effort but its cheap and fast and thus IS "nooby". *points to sig*
  15. I would guess that while it still says 17.5 on the site you will only get charged 15% on payment. Much like how I go into a supermarket and buy something for 99p and only get charged 97p at the tills. It.s because companies haven't had the time to change labelling on everything, I am confident that the card payment will have the lower rate of tax. I am not however going to spend any of my own money to test it.
  16. Is Muzatt acceptable for a boy?
  17. Phoney... Real Bubs -> memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1558 On topic: Laika / Lyekka - Russian name is the first spelling, second spelling is a made up one from Lexx a cheesy scifi show from the late 90s Serena is a nice name too for a girl. I don't care about boys names enough to think of one in advance. Something relatively normal so they don't get ripped about it in school. Boys are more likely to get bullied based on their name than girls are.
  18. Once people have got their daily 30k exp they have no reason to stick around i guess.
  19. I'm sure I read the max scpoints is 200,000 which converts to 25 reward points, I dont think there is a limit to the reward points. You can also only have 10 of each item at a time in your bank. You can also only buy 1 tool per game so you cant spend all your ammassed points at once on dozens of tools.
  20. You get fire arrows as drops on pvp worlds.
  21. PNG

JPG by its very nature is a lossy format. If you took all the compression away then it would just be a bitmap saved as a jpg in name only
  22. Well I returned to runescape after a very long break which is an achievement in itself lol, then I got the following level achievements: 99 Fishing 99 Cooking 99 Fletching 99 Woodcutting 99 Firemaking 2000 Skill total ^ In that order. I also completed all the quests to gain the quest point cape. In 2009 I expect to get the following: 99 Hitpoints 99 Defence 99 Summoning 99 Hunter 99 Ranged ^ In that order But we shall see :)
  23. PNG

Isnt it something to do with bitmap files having ifnormation for each pixel. Picture in your head a 3 x 3 pixel square coloured green for the moment if it were in excel. A bitmap would have this as the information: A1 = Green A2 = Green A3 = Green B1 = Green B2 = Green B3 = Green C1 = Green C2 = Green C3 = Green Whereas a PNG file would just say: A1 to C3 = Green. Thats where the lower filesize comes from because it stores the image information in a more efficient way.
  24. Fireworks on Nov 5th (the weekend surrounding it) would be nice to see.
