However, when you look at the history of Homo Sapiens Sapiens, you're dealing with a species at least 130.000 years old, that has criss-crossed the globe several times over. The time scale for evolution is so much larger than the time of geographical separation he's talking about. He's making leaps of assumption based on what he thinks will be discovered in the future. I'm not going to accept those leaps just because he won a Nobel prize over 40 years ago.

IV = Individual Value. A value anywhere between 0 and 31 that influences how fast any given stat will grow on the curve from 1 to 100. The higher the better. Although you can't check your IVs in game, you can run them though one of the many calculators found online. For breeding purposes, the child will get three random IVs from the father and three random IVs from the mother. That's why it's important to have both parents with as many high IVs as possible. As for the contests... They're all easy, up to the third round. With the berries you find in Amity Square you can cook poffins well enough to max any one stat if the pokemon you're feeding to likes the taste. You don't have to link to cook lvl. 28 poffins, just practice. Once you have a stat maxed, you'll breeze through the first three rounds of contests. And because all Amity Square berries also have a secondary stat, it's not too hard to beat the contests for that stat up to the third round either. I now am a master in all five contest types, although you only need to beat one for the second star on the trainer card. In the fourth round fashion show, it's all knowing about what accessories to pick. There seems to be a hierarchy in the quality of items that goes Amity Square > Massage > Flower shop > Unique/contest prizes. Just make sure you put on 20 items. Dancing gets easier with practice, and appeals are incredibly easy. A basic strategy is to have a move that allows you to go first and a move that gets +2 from going first or a move that allows you to go last and two moves that get +2 from going last. My Gallade now has 23 ribbons (4 from the Cool contest, 3 from the Beauty contest, 2 from each other contest, all 7 ribbons you get from the lady in the last city, the Elite 4 ribbon, the Footstep ribbon and the Accomplishment ribbon).

Furthermore, scientists aren't saints. Just look at how many of them, from archaeologists to doctors, were willing to jump through Third Reich hoops. Of course, they like to keep up the appearance of the noble quest for enlightenment, but many end up going for fame, money or both. He should stop hiding behind his past achievements and come out with some relevant research. His vision of the human race is extremely suspect, in that he believes everything can be explained through genetics. He completely ignores decades of study in sociology and psychology just to hang onto the limelight.

Are you kidding me? Wind is the best thing about autumn. I live pretty close to the sea so it never seems to drop below 3 beaufort, with 5 being nothing out of the ordinary. I love the feeling of having to force my bike against 30+ kph wind.

Ok, making a statement based on something that you think might be discovered in the future is just incredibly scientifically irresponsible. Just because he's a geneticist doesn't mean that everything he tries to explain about the human race through genetics is true. I'm an archaeologist, yet I can't explain everything about history based on what gets dug up. His academic tunnel vision makes his statements highly suspect to say the least.

Various ethnic groups score, on average, worse on IQ tests than white people. This has been proven by experiments conducted in a way that would be considered scientifically correct. However, what Watson completely ignores is the influence of socioeconomic status . Simply put, when you compare the results of the rich and the poor, the poor will score worse than the rich. However, on average, the white poor and the black poor show no significant difference in scores, just like the white rich and the white poor.

Even if he claims to have meant well with his comment about considering homosexuality a proper reason to abort your child, the statement is still incredibly stupid. Abortion is an incredibly difficult decision to make. It's something that will permanently affect you in ways you can't even imagine. Having an abortion because you know you can't raise the child with the love and care it needs, either because of your financial situation or because the child is severely handicapped, is one thing. However, when people like him start promoting abortion simply because you don't like the colour of your child's eyes, he's giving conservatives the fodder they need in their rhetoric to break down fifty years of reproductive rights. He believes that everything about a human individual or population results entirely due to gene expression. Since he is a geneticist, of course this view not only serves his perverted beliefs but his monstrous ego as well. He still thinks in terms of race when the very idea lost all scientific merit decades ago.

I like how some people seem to think that Watson could say anything because of his scientific accomplishments. What people seem to forget is that even smart people can be complete and utter crackpots. In the past he has suggested that it might be a good idea to let women abort their children if it could be proven that the child would grow up to be homosexual in utero. He has a plethora of sexist and racist statements behind his name. He seems to preach an extremely dangerous absolutist form of sociobiology that borders on eugenics. The man is a dingbat that should've been forcibly removed from the public eye years ago. I'm sure its 'possible' for genes to influence intelligence in different 'racial' groups, but the very notion of race is a pretty scientific flimsy idea and not many credible scientists are going to claim that the brain has evolved much at all since its EEA. We spent 99% of our species time in hunter/gatherer societies, it's nonsensical to talk about intelligence differences among different peoples without hardcore evidence to suggest there's a real factor causing it, and not many realistic ones are even imaginable.

Considering the way Homo sapiens sapiens evolved as a species, I think that the idea that people with one skin colour are more or less intelligent than the other is bunk. With that being said... There is no sure-fire way to index intelligence. There's no denying that one person may be more or less intelligent than the other. Because of the aforementioned language barrier, it's impossible to develop a uniform test of intelligence, especially since some languages are fundamentally different on such a deep level that they'd be almost impossible to translate to. In the early 20th century, when the theory of eugenics was still popular, a lot of American scientists liked to give immigrants IQ tests, compare their results with those of (white) Americans, and come to the conclusion that foreigners are dragging down the gene pool and should be collectively sterilised. Their reports conveniently forgot to mention that the immigrants rarely spoke any English at all, but that the tests for both groups were in English anyway. And that's just the linguistics factor. Of course there are plenty of other factors, like education or the circumstances you grew up in that could affect how intelligent you are, but I believe that the potential is roughly the same for every person born healthy. A lot of people seem to think that intelligence is hereditary simply because of how well educated and employed parents seem to have smarter kids. However, I believe that has a lot to do with the simple fact that intelligent people with good jobs have more time and money to nurture the mental development of their children.
