I'm a Socialist, how about you?
Ehrm... no. A hardcore communist would score the exact opposite of my social score. I'm closer to anarchism than to communism.

Halo 3 Ending Leaked
I found the comments to be hilarious. Nice to see that people are dumb enough to watch that even if it says 'Halo 3 ending' on several different places in the page, and then get all insulted about it.

How to make a John Kerry speech interesting:
I've been on the recieving end of batons, dogs and tear gas, but a taser seems like it would be worse than that still. I really don't get why they used such a painful method of submitting the kid. They had him outnumbered to the point where they could have just carried him outside. I agree that he was being extremely disruptive and that the police should have stepped in, but this was just excessive.

The most overused song on soundtracks?
Which song, in your opinion, is overused the most on movie and TV soundtracks? For me it's Hallelujah, originally written by Leonard Cohen, although the Jeff Buckley version is probably used the most. It's a very spiritual song that has a lot of Christian symbolism in the lyrics. The Jeff Buckley version is known for an incredibly powerful delivery through Buckley's beautiful voice and the very sober production, featuring only an accousic guitar. It's an incredibly moving song, but like I said before, it seems to be used everywhere these days, from Shrek to The OC, seemingly without regard for whether the song fits the scene or not.. In my opinion that really devalues what's otherwise one of the greatest songs ever.

Rockin' the oldies
I know about DOSBox, I just like the feeling of playing them on a computer where the power switch is still a switch, and where there's a physical key required to start it up :P

Fat or Skinny?
I'm 6'4", 175lbs. Pretty evenly built, but I have a lot of stamina. This summer I took my bike to work, which was 24 miles a week. I ate a lot more but didn't really feel more tired or anything at the end of the day. I'm built to last :D Right now I don't really work out. I spend 30 minutes on my bike each day traveling to and from classes, and once a week I take my bike down to the beach (about two miles from where I live) to go jogging in the sand for an hour. That's pretty much the only working out I do.

Rockin' the oldies
I have a PC built exclusively for MS DOS games. It's a frankenstein-esque monster slapped together from old parts scavanged from computers found at garage sales. Most of the games also come from stacks of floppies I bought at garage sales, although it's padded a bit with stuff that's available from Abandonware sites. I also have Windows 3.11 installed on the machine for nostalgia's sake, but there are very few games available for it.

Tattoos And Getting A Job
Well, that's why I said visible (I know, messed that one up in my original post ) tattoos. I don't think you should be refused a job for anything that can be covered up. I actually know a girl that had to get a neck tattoo removed that she got when she was 16. She was going to be a kindergarten teacher.

Might as well make this a thread on political cartoons, as the last three seem to have a political message...

Tattoos And Getting A Job
You're going to have to accept that when you're moving in certain social circles, certain things might be looked down upon, especially if you're working with clients. As long as parts of society have a negative attitude towards people with visual tattoos, companies have a perfectly reasonable reason not to hire you if you do decide to get them.

Magic: the Gathering (split from trading card topic)
Most of the changes have been cosmetic. Of course the Planeswalker card looks different from regular cards, since it's a new card type. The new card frames in Future Sight were simply because these cards were from 'the future'. A lot of the changes in wording (the most drastic change was probably the introduction of the Aura) are mainly to make the cards easier to understand.

WWE Illegal Steroids Suspensions...
WORK ON THE CRUISERWEIGHTS, MR MCMAHON! Lol. Nah, Cruiserweights are cool. No cruiserweight has been busted since I started watching in '03. Btw, Cryme Tyme were fired, having Irl arguements with Cade & Murdoch. Yet, Batista and 'King' Booker got in a real fight about 2 years ago. Who was fired? Noone. First of all, Chavo Guerrero and Funaki have both been suspended due to being named in the Signature Pharmacy investigation. Rey Mysterio has also been named repeatedly in the press. Second of all, Batista and Booker only attacked each other. Cryme Tyme used their finisher on an unprepared and untrained ref, which is highly dangerous. Then they created a scene backstage, first yelling at the ref for simply doing his job and then yelling at the producer. They did this during a time when tensions were already running high due to the congressional investigation.

WWE Illegal Steroids Suspensions...
It's not just acting, they're more like stuntmen. It's also not just for the looks. They have to throw around their 200+lbs colleagues, which is very hard to do safely, and they have to be very strong to do it properly. It's no secret that Vince McMahon likes his men big and beefy though.

WWE Illegal Steroids Suspensions...
I was talking about Eugene. He was busted for painkillers and soma outside of the investigation into the online pharmacy. Most of the suspended wrestlers did receive steroids.

Magic: the Gathering (split from trading card topic)
I just thought we'd best continue our discussion here so that the trading card thread won't get derailed too much... So, we finally get Planeswalker cards in Lorwyn, as well as some other interesting stuff... Basic rules for Planeswalkers: - Planeswalkers can be cast at sorcery speed for their mana cost. - Planeswalkers come into play with an amount of loyalty counters on them equal to the number in the bottom right of the card. - Once during your turn, you may use one of the Planeswalker's activiated abilities. The number to the left of the ability is the loyalty cost. - When the Planeswalker's loyalty reaches 0, it is sent to the graveyard. - Planeswalkers may be targeted by spells that target permanents or spells that target Planeswalkers. - During combat, the attacking player may assign creatures to attack the Planeswalker in stead of the defending player. The defending player may block using the standard combat rules. - Whenever a creature attacks a planeswalker and is unblocked, the Planeswalker loses loyalty counters equal to the amount of damage that would be dealt.

~Dumb School Rules~
In the second to last year of high school we were officially banned from making grilled cheese sandwiches in the hallway. Not like we were using a frying pan or anything, just a device that's basically a waffle iron, only shaped for sandwiches. Although the ban was officially because we were using school electricity, it was mostly because the lunch lady was complaining that we were practically giving them away while she was overcharging for them.

LOL @ American Economy
Even though that kind of regenration existed WAY before Marx came along, and was actually used most effectively by the Fascist Nazis? That was (mostly) a sarcastic remark. A few months ago I was having pretty much the same discussion with some American students and the moment I suggested that the state might have to be the one that provides the jobs and invests the money, they all thought I was talking about communism. The bottom line is that this level of government interference in the economy seems to scare a lot of Americans, even if it is necessary to pull out of a recession.

LOL @ American Economy
Even if they're not being drafted, they're still fighting and dying abroad rather than working in factories and offices. War takes manpower, regardless of whether that manpower comes from professional soldiers or draftees.
