  1. It's my only pair at the moment, as my other shoes simply wore down to the point of falling apart. It's hard to get reasonably prized shoes in my size :-s These suit me just fine though. Plenty of support, completely waterproof, I can stand/walk for hours on these. And the air that's released when I untie them kills insects and small mammals :
  2. During the Resident Evil 1 remake on the Gamecube, there was a hallway pretty early on where a few Cerberus jump through the window. I knew it was coming because I already played the original PS version. I walked down the hall and heard the glass crack so I immediately began firing like a madman. About a clip and a half later I realized there was nothing there. Ten minutes later I walk back through the same hallway thinking the coast is clear and WHAM, zombie dogs all over me.
  3. Well, first and foremost, look out for methanol, alcohol's evil kid brother that'll poke your eyes out (pretty much literally). The best base for your homebrewed alcohol using only a fermentation tank is pretty much any kind of fruit. Apples are ideal for this as they're cheap and have a high concentration of natural sugars. Try to use apples that haven't been sprayed by pesticides. A relly ghetto way to do it would be to simply mash up the apples and boil them, then pour them into the tank with water and yeast. Shake the tank up once or twice a days to keep the whole process going, and if you don't have a valve on the tank you'll have to open it up regularly to let the excess carbondioxide pass out.
  4. ...says the guy who picked Danny Boy.
  5. To be honest I really don't care much about it anymore. I put together a Tip.It Times article for it a while back. There's too many people who just don't take the trouble of reading the writing guide and just dump their stuff in there without so much as spellchecking.
  6. If you're 20, I'd say you don't have to worry about pedophiles anymore :P
  7. Dude... http://news10now.com/content/top_stories/default.asp?ArID=113208 Just four days ago :-s Seriously though, good luck with it. From your opening post I can tell both your parents are being quite a bit more responsible about it than the parents of the kid in the story :)
  8. *passes around the popcorn* I really can't be bothered to get into this quagmire, but this is some great entertainment. I love it when otherwise rational people come off their hinges, and religion is a great topic for that to happen.
  9. I really liked the one about evolution, where Peter is telling about his family's history and starts at evolution. You get a clip of a fish walking out on land and turning into a dinosaur, then Peter pauses and says: "I'm legally obliged by the state of Kansas to provide the church's alternative to the theory evolution." after which the genie from I Dream of Jeannie walks out of the water and starts randomly conjuring stuff up. It's probably in the Christianity clip somewhere.

  12. To be honest Lego software has always been mediocre at best. Still, I'd at least give this a try.
  13. Within Temptation - Mother Earth The singles Ice Queen and Mother Earth were pretty big in the Dutch charts in 2001, and this was the first album I bought. It basically was the birth of my music taste. Within Temptation - Enter Mother Earth had some pretty dark tracks, but Within Temptation's debut album was a lot darker still. It's the album that made me appreciate harsh vocals. Probably their best album, at least a whole lot better than their latest releases, which pretty much all sound the same. I've decided to ignore anything after their cover of Running Up That Hill Therion - Lemuria This album is one pinnacles of the combination of classical instrumental pieces and vocals and metal that Therion pioneered. One of those rare albums that simply doesn't have a single weak song on it. According to my parents I have been a fan of classical music since I was three (according to them the first time I payed attention to TV was when they showed a classical concert) and this album more or less rekindled that spark of interest. Haggard - Eppur Si Muove If Therion pioneered the combination of classical and metal, Haggard perfected it with this album. The band's mastermind Asis Nasseri, who writes all the music himself, compltely trashes the old stereotype of the unwashed, uneducated metalhead. He tells the story of Gallileo in English, German, Italian and Latin. The production of the album is extremely crisp, which is something that had been slightly lacking on previous occasions. Probably my favourite album of all time. Aina - Days of Rising Doom: The Metal Opera I bought this album on a gamble in 2004. At ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì23 this is (I think) the second most expensive CD I ever bought. I listened to it extensively throughout my weeklong school trip to the ancient city of Rome, and I still get swept back to what's probably the greatest week of my life whenever I listen to this album. I took the gamble to buy this based on two things. First, the awesome lineup of musicians. It's pretty much a who's-who of European power metal, and they've put together what's probably the best album of the genre in quite some time. Second, the packaging. For my ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì23 I got a hardcover booklet in stead of a CD, and a bonus CD (demo's, instrumentals and bonus tracks) and DVD (making off). This is the kind of effort that makes me want to buy the CDs I download. Arjen Anthony Lucassen is probably one of the most underappreciated musical geniuses of our time. After his career as lead singer in two 80s glam metal band ended, he went on to create Ayreon, a series of prog metal concept albums inspired heavily by the rock operas of the 60's and 70's like Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Jesus Christ Superstar", The Who's "Tommy", and Pink Floyd's "The Wall". He writes all the music and texts himself, and throughout the years he's managed to get some of the greatest (metal) musicians of Europe to appear on his albums, including Bruce [bleep]inson (Flight of the Migrator) and James Labrie (The Human Equation). Although prog metal is usually the genre these albums get grouped under Arjen Lucassen blends many other styles into his albums for a result that has to be heard to believed. Over the years Ayreon has spawned some great spinoff projects like Ambeon, Star One and Stream of Passion.
  14. Probably something Diablo related, with an off chance of Starcraft Ghost being picked up again.

  18. Rome: Total War is, like the name suggests, part of the Total War series. It was the first Total War game released under a new engine which allowed for much larger battles. The main game campaign plays until the rise of Julius Caesar, the Barbarian Invasion expansion campaign plays until the fall of Rome and the Alexander expansion campaign plays during the life of Alexander the Great. None of these are medieval. I guess you could just list all fantasy themed games, pretty much anything with a sword in it.

Snared several squirrels and rabbits, caught some fish, slaughtered some chickens. All for food.
  20. I take my bike to work each day. 90 miles a week total.
  21. The pope doesn't like non-catholics? z0mg
  22. If we ever meet again I'm showing you some ROH DVDs (you should warn me if they pop up in the store, I'd buy them all). Really though, it's hard to understand if you didn't grow up with it.
  23. Watching North Sea Jazz on TV at the moment, biggest indoor jazz festival in the world.
  24. I'd say only Barbarian Invasion could be considered medieval, even though it ends exactly at the start of medieval times (the fall of Rome). Shogun: Total War is set in medieval times though...
