have you ever broke the rules?
Hah that's only happened to me once but occasionally I leave my phone on vibrate. Unfortunately it's so damn loud what it does I have to pray the class isn't silent. More often than not though, I get yelled at for texting in class.

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
You're going to compare being gay to prostitution and needle based druga usage? :wall:

Finals Exams - Your experiences/strategies?
I'm a junior in high school so I've taken plenty of finals. My strategy is don't study, make a note sheet if you're allowed, and just wing it when I get in there. My grades don't look so hot this semester but I managed an A- on my French final and another A- on the skill demonstration part of my Photoshop final.

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
This is just prejudice. ANYONE can have HIV/AIDs, and everyone has the 'window' period. When you get blood from anyone, you're running the same risk. There's nothing different about the blood from a gay person or a straight person. There is a difference in the blood of an HIV infected person and an uninfected person, but you can't tell if they're gay or not from that.

Officers told her 'rights' were 'only in the movies'
I've never been arrested, but I've dealt with cops before. A couple of them tried to do the good cop/bad cop thing on me to hit me with something worse than failure to maintain control (after my car accident). I know an excop who used to "waffle face" any suspect who have him hell on the way to the station. I know there's good and bad people out there and I know the entire system can't be trusted. But what are the chances and entire SWAT team was made up of bad employees? You can call me brainwashed if you want but I'd think you'd be old enough to know what kind of [cabbage] the media will try to sell you.

I do have to agree, but I would personally put blame on the parents for refusing medical treatment. Head injuries are serious business. I would never trust a bag of ice at home as the only treatment for a head injury. The gov't had justification to get the child proper treatment and as I said, the story seems blown out of proportion. I refuse to believe half the crap that was said. What I didn't see in the article was what the SWAT members had to say about the incident. What is going on here ??? It was a bump on the head, anyone can tell difference between a bump on the head, or when a child is acting abnormally from internal bleedings, especially his own mother! I've never had a bump on my head mixed up with a serious internal injury, even when I was 5 I could tell if something was wrong with me. And if I didn't know, my mother sure did. The cops acted like the Gestapo. Even if the kid needed looking after the way they acted is sickening, downright disgusting if you ask me, and I'm a father with military first aid certificates perfectly capable of taking care of my daughter. To be honest I'd never trust a cop again. The judge who ordered this action is the one who needs medical care, and the copes who deemed it responsible to contain the children in TORTURE POSITION (knee to back is a stress position) should be jailed. The swat members were probably told to shut up, as nothing they could say, if honestly said, could help them most likely. Or maybe they are still high off the drugs they must have taken. Are you really that brainwashed? You know down well they didn't act the way the victim said. There's no way in hell anyone who takes their job seriously would burst into a house, slam people (including children) around, and point guns the their faces. I reread the arcticle again and I can't stop laughing at the part where the SWAT officer "kneed the 18 year old in the back". If you know anything about police procedures, he didn't knee her in the back. He put his knee on her back to keep her there and he wouldn't have to do that unless there was resistance. Honestly, this story is 90% [cabbage].

saddest movie ever
I take it you've never seen Punch Drunk Love, Spanglish or Reign Over Me. You'd take him seriously as an actor if you've seen any of those. Reign Over Me was a great movie :) His comdies are great but I do like to see him in serious rolls occasionally.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?
My bro DVRs all the episodes so I watch it all the time. I used to watch it a lot when I was younger, but I have to admit it's a lot funnier when I understand all the jokes. Definitly a great show imo.

Most useless X,mas present you have received this season....
I didn't get anything useless or that I didn't like. Most of my family just gave me cash because it's 10x easier than actually finding me a gift and my mom basically took me shopping and asked me what I wanted.

Regrets and life...
The only thing I regret is getting into video games. I sit here for hours and hours playing games and every time I look at the clock I just think of all the time I've wasted.

Officers told her 'rights' were 'only in the movies'
A couple of things to remember when you read news articles.. First off, the victim is going to make it sound 10x worse than it was. They didn't like what happened, they want to make the people responsible look as bad as possible and make themselves look as innocent as possible. Second, this is the media. The more shocking a story is the more likely people are going to watch their programs and buy their newspapers. The SWAT team could have knocked on the door and when it wasn't answered they forced their way in.. But the knocking on the door part made the forced entry sound more justified, right? Now as I see it, head injuries are very dangerous. A "bump" could be more than it seems. Concussions, internal bleeding, etc are all possibilities. If paramedics were called to the scene, it wasn't just the boy falling down and getting back up. So why did they refuse medical treatment? Maybe they didn't have insurance. But I'm sure you childs life is worth a little bit, at the least. But what if the parents abused their child? He'd probably have bruises under his clothes and if the child had to stay at the hospital the medical staff would have eventually seen the evidence, correct? According to the article, there was no evidence found/mentioned so appearently the child wasn't abused. But there aren't many reasons to refuse medical treatment for your child are there? I personally think the media/victim changed the story to make the SWAT team look unjustified and I also think the gov't had a right to make sure the child wasn't seriously injured or possibly abused.

whats the best notebook/laptop i can get for $3000
Buying a machine at a local store is not only a waste of money, but a lot of the people they hire there don't know [cabbage] about computers. QFT @OP: I'm going to warn you now, gaming laptops have a good risk of over heating. It's difficult to get sufficent cool air to the fan since it's located under the comper. That being said, DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BUYING AN ALIENWARE LAPTOP. They have so many complaints of over heating laptops it's not even funny. Mine? Crashes daily while I'm playing WoW and it's usually at terrible times. Like Nadril said, Newegg is a good site. And as he said, you can get a much better machine if you go with the desktop route. Higher end parts, far less chance of overheating, and so much more you can do with it. Imho, the only thing I like about laptops is that I can easily take them with me when I travel.

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
This was a big joke right? Just all the most rediculous and norrow minded views and ideas about gays/bis/lesbians all compiled into a few paragraphs right? Nadril did a great job summing everything up in all that, but there is one thing I really feel the need to comment on.. So I can tell you that you were only allowed to like FPS games or RP games, but not both, right? You can only like motorcycles or cars, not both. You can only like computers or video game consoles, not both. Those are all similar decisions, though they wouldn't change your life. I mean, you're telling me I have to decide whether I only like guys or only like girls. You need to take a look out into the real world and then see if you even think of saying that again. Being gay and being straight are not the same and you don't seem to have an idea. When you stop liking half the things in your life and totally put them aside (never to touch them again) then I'll consider being gay or straight. Until then, I'll be bi. But thank you very much for your post. It really shows a lot about what some people honestly think.

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
Blindness is an impairment. Explain how homosexuality is an impairment. Blindness is a visual impairment, and homosexuality is a reproductive impairment. Surely from an evolutionary standpoint homosexuality can be viewed as a defect? From a purely evolutionary standpoint, yes I can see how it could be viewed as a (reproductive) defect. However, seeing the populations and problems in the world at this point, I wouldn't call it a defect. We have plenty of people with many many more on the way. We have overpopulation in areas and we're using a lot of our natural resources. In my eyes, we're f*ing ourselves up at this point. We already have a problem with the o-zone and global warming (pretend for a moment this actually exists) so who's to say we're even going to exist in 200 years? 100 years? Would homosexuality still be seen as a defect if reproduction wasn't necessary anymore? I think I'm rambling so I'm going to stop there.. :-k

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
I agree that people have very little self-control over their sexual orientation. But different people lack self-control in different areas. Bisexuals have an easy time choosing an orientation than a gay person and a straight person has a harder time choosing orientation than a bisexual person. But lack of self-control is not an excuse in society. Who's to say we choose sexual orientation? Who's to say what causes us to like the opposite/same sex isn't dormant until we become sexually mature? I know I didn't choose to be bisexual. I didn't decide one day that I liked guy and girls. I always had those feelings, it just took me a while to come to terms with it an accept it.

How mad have you gotten at your g/f or b/f?
In that case I'm still a little mad at my first gf for cheating on me :-k jk

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
I will agree, it is hypocritical. But what are gays supposed to do? Sit back and take the nasty things that said to them? Just accept the fact that the gov't can take freedoms like marriage away and they can't do anything about it? Wouldn't it be nice if everyone shut their damn mouths and let other live in peace? Then debates like this wouldn't be needed. Every straight person in the world could despise gay people, but it wouldn't matter because nobody would know, right? But we're all so arrogant and full of ourselves, we think everyone needs to know every thought that goes through our heads. And I bet you can all agree, some of those thoughts should just be kept to yourself and we'd live a world that was a little better. I personally think it would be worse on the child to grow up moving from foster home to foster home or in an orphanage than with gay parents. Maybe they'll get teased, at least they'll grow up tough. And I really have to disagree about the parents only thinking of their egotistical needs. What if the parents acutally want to help that child out? What if they don't just want to say "Yeah, we adopted and made this kids life better" ?
