Daylight Savings Time?

Looking at an official chart, the rest of the world (not sure if that includes Canada) doesn't change their clocks for a few weeks after the US does. Won't this screw up international time? :|

Also, since technology didn't switch, and we had to manually switch them, does this mean that in a few weeks they will switch again thinking it's DST and we'll have to switch them back?

I think Canada does it too.

Isn't this done every year? So if it worked last year, it'll work this year.

Yep, it's happening in Canada as well. While DST does occur every year, this is the first year that it's happening three weeks in advance.

Blue - have daylight savings.

Orange - had daylight savings.

Red - never had daylight savings.

Unfortunately for me (a tragety of biblical proportions, I know o_0) I live in the north easterly organge state of Australia and once traveled to the blue state directly south of it (i.e. enemy territory :uhh: ). During that time I was frequently travelling between the two states and, well, timing was difficult due to daylight savings.

I just noticed my computer didn't automatically change the time, which is what I usually rely up to set everything else by. I just synced it via the automatic synchronization option that gets it's info from time.windows.com, and it still didn't get the correct time. That means I manually had to do it, and I bet in a few weeks I'll have to change it back.

If I remember correctly China doesn't even have time zones. Their entire country which is about the size of the US is all the same time. I would think that would make things kinda screwy if you lived in the far east or far west of the country.

Daylight savings is a load of bull if you ask me... Especailly this year, on the news it says it'll take millions of dollars to change all the computers to change the time automaticly. <.<

I live in Canada where we have switched DST with the USA, and my computer managed to figure it out. This might cause confusion come the next event, weather thell rember to account for DST in places like Pacific time zone (I think thats the one Toronto is in).

The entire world will go nuclear due to this daylight savings time. I mean, it's totally impossible to manually change the time on your computer.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
