March 15, 200719 yr one day im training my range at the hill giants i was hoping to get it up to 55 then going to moss giants im training peacefully with my cousin when a bunch or lvl 80-95 shopw up and start hacking and slashing like madmen surprised that they're not training at lesser demons i ask:"Dude, why arent u training at lessers?" Dude:"Hill r killed faster thus=+exp" i was like : what is going on here? :? when i finally acheive 55 range, i go to crandor island while running in the Karamja/Crandor Caverns, there r lots of yellow dots(lesser demons) on my mini-map which r not surrounded by white dots :-k i pace on thinking what a weird sight. this place was packed few months ago. at the skeletons, i see a bunch load of players while arriving at the moss giants, packed only got 3 kills before i changed worlds what is going on?why r high lvl players sticking not sticking to high lvl monsters? Woot! Got total lvl 900 in f2p!
March 15, 200719 yr well the xp per housr is gooder in mossies.. low def high hp weak attacks so obviously they wanna train there as long as possible Hey Nicrune007 , Whats Your Username? 99 Ranged on 2/6/07 99 Hit Points on 9/5/08 99 Defense on 26/4/08 99 Attack on 14/2/09 99 Strength on 25/2/09 99 Slayer on 13/9/09\:D/
March 15, 200719 yr You lose less food on Hill and Moss Giants and you can stay there for longer. The longer you can stay the mroe exp. And on Karamja you have to fish a whole inventory of lobsters and that takes up time. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
March 15, 200719 yr im level 84 and kill hillies. reasons why: they dont hurt you, i hardly get hit by them they still give decent exp they drop big bones theyre close to a bank (edgeville dungeon) they drop lumpwurts they drop various useful runes
March 15, 200719 yr And the fact that they drop big bones which is the best prayer exp in free to play. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
March 15, 200719 yr most times higher lv players do this as profit plus exp, sort of a 2 for 1 deal, kill mosses, less food used, get big bones, earn profit and exp. Popoto.~<3
March 15, 200719 yr The higher the level of the monster doesn't necessarily mean that it's the best Xp around. Also, is there some sort of unwritten law that you can't train on certain level monster? :uhh: Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!
March 15, 200719 yr lessers > no prayer exp! ^^ click my sig for my lesser ranging guide ^^jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined
March 15, 200719 yr Most levels wouldn't really want to kill Lessers at 80 or so in F2P. No bone drops, and it's less convienent in a lot of ways.
March 15, 200719 yr For the same reason I train on aberrants instead of black dragons. Less 0's. I know people that maxed out in f2p off of red spiders. It's generally a bad idea to train in f2p on stuff near your lvl. Bad xp with rune scims.
March 15, 200719 yr High players always have trained on monsters they can 1-2-3 hit, so they can get more exp an hour, especially since the exp system was changed to get exp per HIT on monster, and not by when monster dies. Ex: In old level-up system, a black knight gave 28 hits exp WHEN KILLED. BK had approximately 50 HP, if i remember right. New system: 1 hp exp per point of damage dealt. BK = 50 hp = 50 Hits xp. Summary: BK is still as easy to kill, but alot more exp. High level monster = high def = lower hits = slower exp.
March 15, 200719 yr The only monsters that are truly safe from high lvls are thigs that (well this is the system i use but it holds generaly true) have less health than 250% of the players max hit. Ex: if my max hit were 10 (its not really), than I wouldnt bother fighting anything with less than 25 hp, preferably 30. The reason is you want to atleast get a couple high hits before the monster dies, but you dont want to hit many 0's or or get hit yourself.
March 15, 200719 yr i'm lvl 84 and i train at hobgoblins, i kill them in 3 or 4 hits at karmaja you spend most of your time fishing and cooking
March 15, 200719 yr Lessers hit rather hard so high level people may want to flock to lower lvl monsters to save some food Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
March 15, 200719 yr well the xp per housr is gooder in mossies.. low def high hp weak attacks so obviously they wanna train there as long as possible A more correct answer than that you won't get... Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

Jagex designed it that you will get 1/3 of the xp you earn in a combat stat, such as atk or def, sent to your hp. In other words, you get 99 hp with 99 in all melee.
March 15, 200719 yr as siad before, people finally did the math and figured out that training is cheaper and faster at lower level monsters, and in free worlds, lesser demons dont drop anything valuable.
March 15, 200719 yr Just like others said, why waste time fighting 1 lesser when you can get double+ that experience killing many weaker monsters faster. [spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011: Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering - 85
March 15, 200719 yr Lessers aren'tt hat easy to get with all those safespots for lower lvls :wall: But for most high levels we like to train our melee. So like said above we can stay longer = more xp per hour = faster training = more free time to train other skills. Retired as of August 23rd with 91 Firemaking and 6m xp in it.
March 15, 200719 yr you have to get the balance right between getting hit and exp... thats why I think mossies are the best f2p training for 100+
March 15, 200719 yr I'm level 88 and F2p, I still train on Moss Giants because they give fast experience and big bones. I do notice that it's mostly level 50-60 train at the lesser demons. I guess the main reason is still faster experience...
March 15, 200719 yr well the xp per housr is gooder in mossies.. Gooder. Did you just say gooder? :uhh: To answer your question, if this is the case, I can tell you now that it isn't a sudden change like you're claiming it to be. There will always be people who train inefficiently And reasoning with them does nothing, trust me. Just read guides for better training spots if the one you like is too crowded to get good xp.
