Macmaster92
One of the first things about Runescape is that you can play it on virtually ANY Ccomputer. It's cheap a really great game and is easy to access.
darkblob0
runescape won't dethrone WoW because of graphics and that the majority of people are in europe and the U.S. if you can make a game popular in Japan it'll suceed Don't Click This774th to 99 hunting on July 16th 2007
deciever2
I find it very hard to believe that Guild Wars isn't in the top five :-k Anyways, grats to jagex on making a web-based MMO that can make the top two. Jampot48
The only reason WoW is top for cash is the amount they charge a month. If they didn't charge that much, RS would probably be top.

I recon it's because it's based on subscription revenue of which I believe Guild Wars makes nothing?
Revenga
The only thing I prefer in WoW over Runescape is the chat systems, the auction houses, the community, and the camera angles. Other than that, Runescape is just much better in my opinion. Take something so simple and turn it into something you can play for like a quarter a day .. you've got a very nice way of entertainment. Kuddos to Jagex, although I still think they need to fix alot of things.. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
Aresgodowar
never played wow but from what people have told me you can kill someone like 10 different ways with a dagger....that pwns rs.. plus the fact that you can be a different race... ....why am i still playing rs... Ghost-Knigth
Go RS :D I believe RS could become number 1 with a better game engine/graphic. Because if we look at the game concept RS wins by miles :) 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat. pizzar456
It would be unrealistic if world of warcraft wasn't in first it has better graphic and more extenve then runescape. However In my opinion that runescape is better because of communanatys like tip.it. It's the people that help out the "noobs" that make runescape better. particularly the f2p ones that are "off the record" in this study. Compairing these two are like comparing fruits and veggies, they are both foods but different in their own ways.
icecube
This really surprised me. To be honest, I didn't think Runescape would even make the top 5. Make around 7 or 8. What about games like Flyff? Those games are pretty good as well, popular, and even have a cash shop to generate more revenue. But does this really mean it's popular or a "good" game? Does subscription revenue necessarily mean that?
Atroxide
I Decided to buy WoW for a month to see how its like and i like rs more. WoW has some bad points though bad WoW doesn't have any real good economy, i love rs cause of rares. not like WoW where price is how useful it is, it makes it boring. The lack of ability to talk with friends easily, after i first signed up i choose a server thinking i could switch to meet up with friends the next day after they tell me their server. WRONG, you may only connect to 1 server per membership. good The envirment is awesome in WoW, there is loads of different places and they all look different. Completely NO loading screens, i thought maybe it was like runescape whee it would have to load each square and after u walk to next square it does it again, nope there is no loading screens. 1 thing i like the most about WoW is how much you have to talk and use NPC's. I had no idea there was creatures that fought on your side, or creatures which makes you be able to travel. and i find quests a huge part of WoW, not like rs where its just 1 part of it. and imo they arent boring like in rs rofl
RayOxide
Off the BBC web site. http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6470433.stm Apparently all online gaming is worth $1billion. Of all subscriber based revenues, Runescape is rated second in the world (after WoW)!!! Quite an achievement for a Java browser based game, I'm sure you'll agree. What's your reactions to this? What makes Runescape so appealing? What puts people off? Do you believe that RS can make it to number 1? World Rankings 1. World of Warcraft 2. RuneScape 3. Final Fantasy Online 4. Everquest 5. City of Heroes/Villains #1. To Me, WoW Is... Quite a Nerdy game.... Might not be to all of you though. #2. RS Is Appealing Because of the Environment And "Stats" Realistically #3. I honestly wish that RS Would make it, But It just Wont #4. Gimme Info On FF Online..... Is It Good? Is It Free? Trial? Do I Need A Program For It? Etc. Regards. I dont need a siggy no moar. In the context of computer games, a nerf is a change to the rules of the game that is generally considered to have a weakening or negative effect upon the affected object(s).
