How much difference do those bonuses actually make?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how much difference bonuses for meelee, range etc actually make? Is it worth spending cash on beserker rings? How much time do they actually save you? How much time does ranger set save you over fremenik ranger helmet and snakeskin boots?

Do they actually make alot of difference?

Thanks for anyone who constributes :) i think this is quite an interesting topic lol maybe that's just me!!

With a perfect mage bonus in Castle Wars (Seers ring, Mage's Book, Infinity boots, etc...) I pretty much never miss a Barrage.

Every point makes a difference, it's just physically impossible to notice a diffence between a bonus and one that is a point higher is all.

It adds up :-w .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

if your normal str bonus is 100, and berseker ring is +4 so youll train 4% faster... it wont matter if you arnt training years... but it will save you 4 hours on 4 days nolife training... #-o

A day is 24 hours. 10% of that is 2.4 hours.

2.4 * 4 = 4?

Must be that "new maths" I've heard so much about.

For things like strength, getting a max + is best, as you can clearly see the effects (greater max hits).

well first of all he said 4% not 10%, which i have no idea where he got that number, but 4% of 24 isnt even a full hour, so his math is still wrong.

:?

 Yup.

My 10% was off of that he probably thought 4 hours was 10% of 4 days. (4:4)

This is what he means to clarify for everyone:

If your normal strength bonus is +100, and a berserker ring gives you +4 strength, then with a berserker ring you will have +104 strength bonus, which is a 4% increase. That means that you will train 4% faster.

4 days is 96 hours, that is almost 100 hours. 4% of 100 hours is 4 hours. Therefore, you save 4 hours about every four days of straight training.

Unless of course your attack level is low and you never hit, then that +4 str bonus wouldn't make much of a difference. :|

Well i'm a bit of a math genius for my grade(2nd place in county, 1st in town ftw), and..... 4 days x 24 hours = 96 hours. 96 x .04 = 3.84 hours so if my math is correct (which it probably is) it'll save you 3.84 hours with a +4 extra str bonus on 4 days on nonstop training, no randoms or anything, but too many events can be factored into the outcome, like lag, randoms, eating, snoozing, computer crashes, etc; But if it was 4 days nonstop yes it'd save you about four hours.

Why would a +4 Strength bonus save you 4 hours in non-stop playing over 4 days? Strength affects how high you hit, and even a +4 bonus will maybe increase your max hit by 1. I'd rather count on how much I hit as opposed to how high. 4 10's or 1 40?

i dont really see a difference. When I was at green dragons, I pked a hybrid ranger mage who was prayer training. He came back at me with god spells and entangle while i used his arrows and msb to range him back. I was hitting normally almost, even with full rune on.....

Maybe I'm just being stupid... but it makes sense to me. He reasoned that since a day is 24 hours, then 4 days is 96 hours (he then rounded it to 100 hours) 4% of 100 hours is 4 hours, which is exactly what he said... 4% of 4 days is actually 3.84 hours, which is quite close to 4 hours.

Bloodveld, you used 10% instead of four percent you should have written:

A day is 24 hours. 4% of that is 0.96 hours.

0.96 * 4 = 4? while still incorrect, he got the general idea across.

I notice a difference, yes. Aside from having a fire cape, I have a maxed out strength bonus. I also notice a difference with attack bonus, so I usually use the best attack stuff I can too, aside from Nietizniot helm. All totaled, I usually am about 120-122 strength bonus, with 123 slash attack bonus. My attack is 99, but my strength is only 84. I find myself hitting high and often. My suggestion is: If you can afford the best peripherals for the skill you're training, use them. Ranger set, archer ring for rangers, zerker ring/warrior ring, rune boots, and Barrows gloves for meleers... Seers ring, ahrims, mages book, inf boots etc. For mages... Bottom line, if you can get it, get it.

well the formula defenatly is alot complex than just every percent you add to str bonus. firstly the fact of hitting 0s. At any str bonus, given that you have the same attack bonus you will hit equal amount of 0s. This means your str bonus isnt really used at those times- hence when trainig on something really strong for your level, your strength bonus wouldnt help you alot. On the otherhand theres attackbonus. Many see it as quite worthless thing to max, seeing the prices of warrior and berserker ring, but in truth, when your going against anything with a very high defence compared to your attack level, attack bonus will help you times more than strength.

Example:

90 attack,strength,defence

10 attack bonus 90 strength bonus vs rock crabs

90 attack bonus 10 strength bonus vs black demons

50 attack bonus 50 strength bonus vs nechryaels

How much differance if you use the right stuff? Alot, but only if you know what to use.
