April 3, 200719 yr How come if a homosexual wants to be heterosexual, they just don't live like one and have sex with hot chicks instead of ugly guys? How come if someone who can't stand mushrooms wants to like mushrooms, they just don't live like they do and eat mushrooms every day? How come someone who is left handed and wants to become right handed, doesn't just live a right handed life. My example is better. :P Look, I'd bet anything homosexuality is just a maladaptation. Me doing staff.
April 3, 200719 yr I bet without religion most people would agree homosexuals are fine and have just as much right to their preference as anyone, and they would let them be. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

April 3, 200719 yr Eh, Magekillr does hold a valid point there. You can't really use 'what ifs' when you're arguing, but I think that's a true statement for the most part. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

My example is better. :P Look, I'd bet anything homosexuality is just a maladaptation. a) some guys are rather hawt. even straight guys will say that some men are attractive b)alot of women are ugly c) sexualtiy IS NOT a choice. people may be born with it programmed in their brains, or it may be social conditioning, or chemical reactions, or who knows what, but it is not a choice. could you bring yourself to have sex with a man? and d) Viktor, I'm left handed, but was raised to write with my right hand (don't know why...) therefore I could use both hands if neccesary, so Parabola's example is better :P Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
April 3, 200719 yr I really liked the documentary. T'is one of the reasons i'm rather against religion on the whole. It creates annoying literalists like this cult, who go around spoiling lives. Wait until atheism becomes more mainstream. As though it isn't already? handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"

If it wasn't religion, it would be something else that would be treated like religion. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

April 4, 200719 yr I bet without religion most people would agree homosexuals are fine and have just as much right to their preference as anyone, and they would let them be. I think you will find that Communist countries without religion have killed a lot of homosexuals...
April 4, 200719 yr it doesnt make sense to me cause god didnt make a human just to hate it. its wrong. "I am free of all prejudices. I hate every one equally." -W. C. Fields
April 4, 200719 yr Doesn't really matter what homosexual's do anyways. Christianity is an easy religion to follow...You do WHATEVER you want, (besides blaspheming the Holy Spirit) then say "Oops, my bad. Sorry about that." on your death bed and you go to Heaven. A homosexual can lead WHATEVER LIFE HE WANTS and just say "Sorry" before he dies and be completely forgiven. Yes, they have to mean it...But how hard is that when you think you'll [bleep] if you don't mean it? Not very. I find Christianity's message to be very dangerous in that sense...A murderer can just be remorseful and still be rewarded...Essentially, it tosses morality out the window because as long as you don't say anything bad about the Holy Spirit, you can do anything. if someone is truly sorry for what they did...then why is there a need for punishment? that's the purpose of punishment...to instill a change in behavior...if the change is there...punishment is not necessary and you are looking at it wrong...we cannot do w/e we want b/c if that was the case then there wasn't a true change I consider Tigra to be right. I know a few devout Christians that are nice, non-obtrusive, decent people. Then again, I know a metric sh*tton of ones that say and do the meanest, most immoral things, then say "Oops I'm human I sinned too bad, I'll just go to confession and we'll all be happy again yay!" By this token it makes me sympathize with atheists. As one famous one put it, "it's not God I don't like, it's his fan club I can't stand." Then again, I know a bunch of self-professed atheists who celebrate Christmas and Easter for the sole purpose of receiving gifts. Whether or not these were pagan celebrations to begin with they don't believe in the religious connotations behind such happenings, and so they kinda just contradict themselves in their incessant proclamations of "lol god is teh conform lollaz bush is teh cristian an evil cuz i cnt bang girlfriend and get teh abortions lol" handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"

I think you will find in the Bible that God has little tolerance for hypocritical "Christians." There is one verse saying God would rather someone be hot or cold but if they are luke warm he will spit them out which basically means the lukewarm "Christians" that are just a bunch of hypocrites are in trouble. There is other stuff in there about it as well but that one gives a nice overall view of how God views hypocritical jerks.
April 4, 200719 yr It's legitimate, so shut the [bleep] up about that, please? How come if a homosexual wants to be heterosexual, they just don't live like one and have sex with hot chicks instead of ugly guys? Perhaps because it has something to do with thier biochemistry. Do you ever hear of a full homosexual (not bi) just saying 'meh, I've had enough of guys, time to change teams'? No, all you generally hear is 'it's something which I just feel and can't control.' *breaks down in a crying heap due to the fact he's still homosexual dispite years of taunts and misunderstandings about the way he feels* All reasoning of cases of homosexuals I have seen in real life or in documenatries would suggest it's not something you can just turn off and on like a tap, dude.

April 4, 200719 yr You posted while I was typing, so I didn't see your post; I was talking to Ambassador. Where I got it from was the whole thing about God likes hot or cold but not lukewarm. Sorry for the confusion.

April 4, 200719 yr I'm not talking about being moderate. If you look at it in context it is talking about people that say "yeah I follow Jesus" and then turn around and act like a total hypocrite. That isn't a form of being moderate. It is being a lying two faced hypocrite. The verse is saying God would rather someone flat up reject him than knowingly be a hypocrite.
April 4, 200719 yr I bet without religion most people would agree homosexuals are fine and have just as much right to their preference as anyone, and they would let them be. and i bet without religion the world would be in a worse state than it currently is...but let's not go there My point was to all those people who thought homosexuality was intuitively "alright" even if it wasn't for them, but then their religion goes and tells them otherwise, trust your conscience. It wasn't actually a snide dig at religion. This might sound stupid but oh well. If you want to be heterosexual, how come you just don't live like one and just tell people to shut the hell up when they make fun of you for having a high voice or whatever? I mean if that's what you want to be, why not be it? I thought gay only meant you did it with guys not having an elongated 11th cromosome or whatever... Hot [wagon] girl > ugly [wagon] guys What kind of point was that? The whole point of homosexuality is that they don't want to be heterosexuals. The only reason they would is because society often looks down on them. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
April 4, 200719 yr Author If we leave the biology aspect to the one side, what do you guys think : If a person has not been in an event such as an abusive parent when he/she was younger, what may cause him/her to be homosexual, maybe it's a trademark to say that he/she is unique something new to say to become popular, maybe it is something influenced by the media: shows like Graham Norton, Paul Ogradey (I think) they are being portrayed as extremely cool people. I'm not against these things it's just it is interesting to think how a person so similar to you has a sexual orientation that is completely different. A friend to all is a friend to none.
April 4, 200719 yr Ahaha, Graham Norton and Paul O'Grady arn't cool. Whats all this about sexual abuse = homosexual anyway? People are different to each other, it's called individualism and everyone should be able to respect that. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Let's say that Johnny across town wants to have sex with his sister Susie, and Susie wants to have sex with Johnny. Are you going to respect that? After all it contributes to their individualism People backing up homosexuality say people need to be more accepting of it and need to respect other peoples choice. Well from my angle you need to take a leaf out of your own book and respect that its against my beliefs to be ok with homosexuality.

However no, that wouldn't be right. Incest causes all sorts of emotional harm, not to mention the fact incest can lead to pregnency (again emotional harm to the child) and physical disorders for the child. I Understand your point about "taking a leaf from our own book" which is not the case. I accept your views, i disagree with them but i accept them. That doesn't mean i can't argue with them now does it? My views don't supress people, your views clearly do.
