Is this fair?

NOT SURE WHICH FORUM THIS GOES IN - MIGHT BE WRONG.

This morning I logged into my scout account to see if there was any rune available to mine at the rune rocks. Yes, there was.

I logged into my rune miner (fishingpair2) and mined the rune.

Then, one of my friends in my friends list logged on when I was on the scout account again.

I hopped worlds about 5 or 6 times to see if there was any more rune available.

Then, my friend suddenly comes up with the retort 'If you multiple log in one more time I'm gonna report you.'

So I send a message back saying 'Wtf! I'm changing worlds to mine rune. Look up fishingpair2 on the highscores.'

Then he says 'Reported.'

I'm just asking for your opinion on this. Is that fair? :S

If you do not have your scout account and rune miner account logged in at the same time, you have not broke rule 8. There is nothing wrong with having a scout account at rune rocks.

Apparently your friend does not even know what does multi logging in means

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

One piece of advice: the next time you're gonna do alot of world hopping, keep pm off so your friends don't get irritated by "you have login and out" messages

That guy doesn't seem like a very good friend if he's willing to report you just for world hoping. without any proof of multiple login.

Pretty much what Dragon said.

Thread terminated.

I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator?

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

My thoughts exactly.

You should've reported him back for abusing customer support.

You may create more than one RuneScape account, but if you do, you may not log in more than one account at any time, and they must not interact with each other in any way.

Unless i've misinterpreted the rule, it might be said that by having one of your accounts act as a scout for the other, classifies as account interaction, and is therefore a bannable offence.

interesting way to put it

also you should keep your private off always when in the wilderness, especially when mining rune you have to login and out. so you had two reason to keep private off

As long as they were not on at the same time, you should be fine. techinically they should never interact with each other at all, but from what you said they didnt. my guess would be no, you cant be reported for it but even if you can, the chances of them actually banning you are farily low as they only have the 1 minute snapshot from one of the two accounts and there is no drop trading.

Interaction, as defined in here, would be considered having them trade with each other, transfer items between them, ect. There's no harm in logging one in to check on something so long as what it does does not have a direct effect on your other account (besides making sure that you aren't gonna get pked)

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

I hope you have taken him off of your friends list :|

I can't believe a "friend" would report another friend, that's quite sad.

Also, if you change your Private Chat to "Off" it will still say,

"Fishingpair2 has logged in"

"Fishingpair2 has logged out"

And I think that is even more annoying than with it on.

The interaction between two of your own players is items only because gathering INFORMATION on one account (your account used for scouting) and applying the information is not interaction between players because nothing is being transferred between players. Last time I checked you couldn't transfer information THROUGH the game.

My suggestion, get rid of that person on your friendslist to prevent future problems.

Ok..

Jagex has even said that you can play on 2 different account.. But can not trade with each other.. This dude is not trading between them he is simply using 2 accounts at different times

There is no interaction what so ever

Agreed. Its annoying when your friend keeps getting the message "[insert name here] has logged in. [insert name here] has logged out."

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

It will say it once with each account, when you turn off the chat, yes. But after that it won't say anything when you log in and out repeatedly. So that would not irritate the friend. However, this does not break rule 8 as they had no actual interaction.

that has nothing to do with interaction, interacting means trading, teleothering, attacking, ect...

I've been reported for changing worlds before by some lower level player because he thought that was Multi-logging  ...and he didn't quite understand it when i tried to explain it...
