Nope. I don't believe "being a teenager" is the cause of the problem.

its the "fill in answer because you don't know the real solution" answer.

Personally I think your stressed out. When you go from a kid to teenager, you start to being to take on responsibilities for adulthood. It can be a depressing state and stressful.

My advice is that you do not think of what makes you depressed.. and do listen to music if it makes you happy.

It's called being a teenager.

Yeah, pretty much

+2

What's even worse is that when you're a teenager and you have little angst and your parents try to justify their twisted, distorted decisions and mood swings by saying that you're just "a kid."

More specifically, when your mother wakes you up early to do yardwork, neglects to tell you about it the day before and gets upset at you for being tired after she kept you up until 1:30 because she was watching television and talking on the telephone.

Sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest.

Nah I'm pretty happy. A tad tired at work at the moment but none-the-less everything is going great. Hell, even just got a raise last week. ::'
Actually me to. Work stinks, but I've got over it. I'm afraid to go to University next year, but it will probably work out OK. School got tough, but it was far harder last semmester. I'm sick right now, but it won't last.

I was never really happy during the first 2 years at high school, but now I don't really want to leave (but I don't want to be one of those losers who stays around for a few extra years because they can't let go-besides, most of my friends are leaving).

It's taken me til 2nd semmester grade 12 to finally realise that it's all down hill from here. I have lots of friends I get to hang out with everyday. School isn't a challenge for me anymore and I get amazing grades. I have a new computer. I'm getting my liscense soon (should have already but wutev). I have enough money (wish I had more :P ). The only bad things are that work clogs most of my Friday/Saturday nights, and I procrastinate too much. Overall, I've come to realise that I leave a pretty above average life compared to most people in the world, and so I am happy.

My point: Wait until your hormones of teenage years stop going nuts, and you'll be fine.

P.S. With me saying this, something bad will happen within a few weeks. Guaranteed. That's just how it works. Something BAD bad.

Ah dude, that sucked for me, so much uncertainty and basically knowing little to nothing about university life. Seriously though, whatever image you have in your mind is generally NEVER as bad as what it turns out to be in real life. 7 weeks into uni, everything is sweet and nothing bad has happened (unless you'd call forgetting my lab coat and subsequently skipping a prac drastic. Not really, the 40 min drive in and bus ride out of the city to withdraw money and buy an iced coffee was worth it.. ).

I wouldn't say that. I'm a teenager, and I very, very rarely feel deprssed. I guess it's just my upbringing of being around very positive (also borderline insane) people. All the hardship I've encountered in my life (which trust me, is ALOT, and not little stuff either) tends to just drive me to build upon my life, intstead of sitting around being depressed about it.

I feel like that occasionally. It usually just means that I am very tired and need to catch up on sleep (combined with) something that upset me.
Yeh i'd say that's right.

I love that song! The music director at my school likes it too, so we get to play it in jazz band. And to think some of the other band members didn't even recognize it... :uhh:

On Topic: Yes, listening to YMCA is definitely a good way to cheer yourself up!

People say Teenagers have no reason to be sad or stressed, which is BS imo.

We have to go to school where we are judged by a group that has the potential to have the tenacity of a pack of wolves, once we get through that, we have Several classes every day where we must pay attention and hope to get the material so we dont flunk out, once the school day is over some kids have sports which puts so much strain on you (depending on the sport and the school) that its not uncommon that kids cry in utter frustration.

And if thats not enough to stress someone out, some kids work 20+ hours a week.

Then we have to go home and face parents and chores and siblings and homework.

Im not saying being a teenager is the hardest the thing in the world.

But if you think about it, theres a lot to being a teen.

And yes im a teenager, and my english grade isnt the best :P

I'd say the only thing I'd consider to be 'teenager syndrome' is that problems get amplyfied, mainly down to adolescence, when you're a teen. You don't get 'unique' problems, but they are made to be seen as much worse during that time of your life, which, you know, I can understand.
