willie_the_noob
Ok im standing in front of a tough choice here Ive always had a goal to get lvl 85 smithing, and now i have enough money to get it. But the problem is, that I cant just waste my 11m (im f2p) I dont want to leave them lol and my smithinglvl is 80 atm So what would you choose? lvl 80 smithing w 11m lvl 85 smithing w 0gp ? C110
Well, for me its like: Skills > Money But How does it cost you 11m? Make steel plates, alch them, i think that wont cost you 11m. ~ColossuS~ - I'm not proud of everything I've done, but I have no regrets

lordfan21
Well, for me its like: Skills > Money But How does it cost you 11m? Make steel plates, alch them, i think that wont cost you 11m. ~ColossuS~ Steel bars are 550-600 each so lets say they are 575 each. Each steel plate requires 5 steel bars so it costs 2875 gp to make each steel plate. Each steel plate alchs for 1200 gp. The loss per steel plate would be 2875+300(nature rune)-1200 = 1975 gp. You get 187.5 xp per steel plate so it costs 10.5gp/xp using steel bars. Level 80-85 is a little over 1.25m xp so it would cost well over 11m to buy steel plates and alch them. (If you bought the ores and smelted them it would be a little bit cheaper but probably still over 10M. Mining your own ores to smith is just not feasible due to the amount of time it would take if you sole goal is 85 smithing). Z0mg look im so kool even mods tok to me. willie_the_noob
Yeah, but im using iron bars to get to 85 1 iron bar is at max price 250gp and every bar gives 25xp 1 steel bar is at max 600gp and gives 37.5xp so 2 iron bars gives more xp than steel and costs even lower. I will be selling every plate for like 136ea so: iron plate = 5 x 25 = 125xp 5 x 250 = 1250 cost of the plate 1250 - 136 = 1114 cost per plate if sold later 1114/25 = 8.912 = cost per xp xp left to 85 from 80: "For Level 85, you need 1,244,076 XP" 1244076(xp left) x 8.912(cost per xp) = 11+ mill
12pure34
You are F2P and you are NOT becoming a member any time soon? In that case: go for it! F2P doesn't have that many things to invest into. Well, there is runecrafting, but if you play it well, you can train it for free after level 55. So basicly GO FOR IT!.. Although it isn't the best level and it does cost a lot, it is quite the honour to be a real rune smither! It might even push you to train it even more, so you can smith cooler rune items. (rune axes / mediums or even higher !!) So really, train it! It is the feeling that counts over everything else

sparticus348
Definitely go for 85 smithing, but I would recommend merchanting to 20m, then getting the 85 so you have some money left over. Break
mobius112
I'd say go for it, I might be able to help you get that money back too. I'm goin for 85 mining so if I mine you rune and give it to you, you smith it and we split the profit 50-50. The higher your smithing gets, the more money we could each get...although I'd be losing a lot of money and I don't even know you that well... But you're the only person I've met with that goal...I guess I'd have to think about it... Mining so fast that you can literally watch this bar go up. fatdog16
definitly. smithing rune is awesome. OF course that mother is badly crazy, but I dont understand why the 22 year old girl wants to live with and have sex with the 13 year boy, just because he is lvl 126 or something? ib2phat4u
why not get 83 then take a weeks break to regain some money then go up again plus its not like you can do anything with money all money does is train skills (or at least it should be)
reversal
I would choose the money over the skill. Why? Personally I never like the thought of wasting money on smithing and hi alching plates. Probably only did about 200k worth of xp that way. People don't have high smithing because they use it as a money drainer instead of a money maker. In my opinion, buy lots of nats and make addy bars as you mine, that way u get xp for both mage, mining, and smithing. Keep doing this until you can smith something useful out of addy, ie scimmies/kites. However the only drawback is the time required to sell the large quantities of items. firsttsurugi
just get your mining up so that you can mine everything and get the lvls for free. Currently will be using my Oni Tsurugi account to attempt to get 99 on all free skills without spending any gp, just for the sake of doing so. T. Skill
I would choose the 11m and mine/smith to 85. Takes longer but I don't lose any money. Pirate Rosetta stone. Theoknight2
just give me the money and forget it. nah jk. You can always get money back, but u eventually have to get 85 smithing. so go for it!
Randox
I could make 11m with 85 smithing, plus the smithing would take longer adn be boring to get. I'd go with smithing.
