I'm pretty sure that it's just the rares market. Lately, it has been rising and dropping like mad, even before the ditch.

yaaaaaaaaaay im glad ive struggled long and hard to learn this new fangled "jump" over the ditch skill!!!

I'm sorry, but just because two things happen at around the same time, that doesn't mean that one caused the other.

 

 

 

The ditch means 1 extra click every 2 minutes. It has no meaningful impact on runecrafting whatsoever.

my oppinion is the same, for unlike the wildy ditch, the prospect of these bracelets has been around for the past month (behind the scenes). although rares were at a slight drop anyway, the idea that these obby braclets are gunna be good value means that rares will drop (a bit).

 

 

 

besides, compared to the great depression after the release of construction, 1.5m isnt that much :XD:

 

 

 

also, if you notice at world 2, quite a lot more people are trying to sell their santas. i for one spent a few hours yesterday patienly trying to flog off mine to afford a blue mask...

The decrease in the price of your Santa hat is just part of the general slowing and declining of the rares market, due to many reasons which I shall not list, that's for another thread on another day.

For a level 91 like me, that 1.5 million gp is hard to get

The ditch update has no effect on that whatsoever - and definitely not within just a few days time.

Like any increase/decrease in price, people manipulate prices in their favour, using something such as the ditch or an event to drive or lower prices.

I understand where your theory comes from, but I don't really think it's the root cause of why santas have gone down in price. I think it might just be because we are getting further and further away from Christmas season and summer is coming up soon (7 week left of school for me : ). There's just not as much need or demand for a santa at this point of year.

 

 

 

But maybe you're right. Maybe this is a point that is just overlooked. I don't know, but it's not going to affect me because I don't even have enough money to buy a rune (g) right now :roll:

Not even 5 seconds. I've runecrafted a lot after the ditch update and I still make the exact same amount of runes on average per hour. After a day of getting used to it, it probably isn't even half a second slower than it was before.

It's a good thing. There is already too much gold in the economy. It needs to flatten out.

Jagex is smarter than people think, Im sure they want to stop the inflow of alching money, so they are putting in little things to slow rcers down, and thus cut the money inflow.

There is no direct link to the ditch in the price of a rare falling

 

 

 

Economically speaking if you watch the rares market phats are the only major constant that have longterm level, dropping or rising periods.

 

 

 

Santas, masks, crackers, pumpkins, easter eggs all rise and fall yearly based on thier holidays.

 

 

 

They all reach a peak just before or just after their holiday, so in Santa's case mid-novemeber - early Jan, and they all reach a low peak 6 months form thier holiday, so for santa late may - early july.

 

 

 

Basically the ditch is not to blame for your lose atm as the Santa is on the downwards slope from its 06 peak to its 07 low peak. If you hold onto it still beyond around July the prices will start to show a general trade of raising again, which will slowly accelerate as xmas apporaches.

Updates make the economy change for a while. Then people realize it and strive to fix it.

 

 

 

Following your logic, nats will become rarer, driving their price up. People will eventually pay upwards of 500 gp ea. Possibly more. RCers will take notice and have a higher incentive to make nats, because of their increased price. They will totally forget about a a few extra second/clicks and think about the extra cash they will make.

 

 

 

After a while, the price of nats will go back to normal, stabilizing the economy, and causing rares to go up in price, and eveything else to stay the same/decrease in price.
