May 14, 200719 yr cult - a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader. - the members of such a religion or sect. - any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific. religion 1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. 2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion. 3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions. After watching Panorama on the BBC I am shocked about this cult/religion. As far as I can see they are brainwashing to get members. What is surprising is the amount of celebrities they have following their cult. Also they vigorously attack anyone who is against them, they find your criminal record, and post it around town, they attack you anyway they can by spying, damaging property etc. Clickhere to read about them Your views please, these guys want the UK to acknowledge them as a religion I say a big NO to that. Everytime I watch a film with him in it, I'll feel weird. A friend to all is a friend to none.
May 14, 200719 yr I wouldn't be suprised if they're paying Cruise and Travolta and gang to do all their PR crap, and he's just getting a kick out of it. I don't see how anyone can really believe and of that crap. Gamertag: King Arizona

May 14, 200719 yr What a strange load of bull. Some people are far too guillable to this kind of thing. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
May 14, 200719 yr I watched Panorama and the reporter was 200% justified in his reaction. I don't see why he's apologising for it. I noticed that all the cultists do is attempt arguments ad hominem, running smear campaigns against their opponents as opposed to actually attacking their arguments. I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,The reason why I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well,I do not love thee, Dr. Fell.

TBH he did act unprofessional and sunk down to the guys level by raising his voice that much, but I guess he was justified in some sort of way because the guy was acting like a [puncture] towards him. May 14, 200719 yr You should change the title to: "Scientology: Cult, religion, or total load of bull?". Most of us would pick the last option.
May 14, 200719 yr No, because a cult is a load of bull, but also dangerous. I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,The reason why I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well,I do not love thee, Dr. Fell.
May 14, 200719 yr after watching panorama i have to say that i think the reporter was very very justified in his response.. I would have ended up killing that guy if i had to spend that much time with him. Scientology is the biggest bunch of bullcrap since.. well.. theres a lot of other cults around atm, but this is one of the biggest..
May 14, 200719 yr A business. Most cults are basically for the money, but not all of them. Some cults just have f'ed up leaders. Scientology definitely fits under the classification as a business, selling righteousness to those who can afford it.
May 14, 200719 yr I watched about 15 mins of that Panorama report & it was quite shocking. I knew Scientology was quite a strange religion but these people were acting like street thugs. They had people; following, intimidating & creating smear campaigns against those who dared to criticise them. What was even worse is that they didn't care if people knew. They had the same one guy following for days, then the guys in the car plus that spokesman guy (the one with the black hair in the Panorama youtube clip) who was desperate to intimidate. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
May 14, 200719 yr That stuff they are telling is as well proven as the Bible and Choran... I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
May 14, 200719 yr Definitely Cult. I've read a lot about Scientology and I was a little disappointed that the documentary was so short. It could have easily spanned an hour. But there's so much stuff to talk about re: Scientology that it could be a 10 hour doc and still wouldn't be enough. May 14, 200719 yr That stuff they are telling is as well proven as the Bible and Choran... That's completely false, actually. Maybe not the miracles and such in the Bible, but at least all of the people were real people. Hohto, you don't really need to lower yourself to an ignorant standard just to insult Christianity. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
May 14, 200719 yr http://xenutv.com/ is a man interviewing a number of scientologists who assualt and attempt to riducule him. I have to agree with Hoto though, if your a religious person i don't really think you are in any position to judge these people. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
May 14, 200719 yr Operation Clambake is probably the best Scientology resource. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. May 14, 200719 yr Oh noes. Tom will be a new Messiah and it will come to another Waco Incident... *dances* oh praise.... if you hadnt noticed i dont know what im taking about really.. but it would be funny if Tom said he was a messiah
May 14, 200719 yr Neither, just a scam that finds money in the souls of people that likes too much the Scy-Phy, It's like the (at my point of view) like the Church if the Macs or the Jedi Religion that is practiced in real life. http://darkluniux.blogspot.comBehold my blog! Tom will be a new Messiah and it will come to another Waco Incident... *dances* oh praise.... if you hadnt noticed i dont know what im taking about really.. but it would be funny if Tom said he was a messiah They don't have enough faith in anything to actually kill themselves or anything like that over it. Everyone who's high-up in it KNOWS it is bullcrap and everyone lower-ranking in it is only in it because they believe it "helps them". The whole thing is a self help scam which they then use to steal money from people and make profits. Anyone who actually believes the "beliefs" are quite [developmentally delayed]ed, as they all come from a fiction book. It's like me worshipping Frodo for saving the world from certain doom. Noone's going to do that crap. Definately a cult. The sad thing is that you could compare it to some Christian sects and they'd look awefully similar...Well, minus the whole brain-washing lies and whatnot...But still, the stealing money thing is still there! The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

May 14, 200719 yr Everyone who's high-up in it KNOWS it is bullcrap and everyone lower-ranking in it is only in it because they believe it "helps them" I actually find this statement to be very true in all "faith" based structures and organisations. I was just 30 minutes ago watching a document on North Korea. Some western prime ministers got to meet him in a summit and they filmed it. "Why don't you apply social advances and redistribute wealth?" Kim Jong-Il: "In reality, we don't have those resources". So basically his government just keeps telling his people everybody is happy and has lots of food, socialism will triumph, crops are good, employment and productivity will rise.. And those poor people are so brainwashed they don't know better. They believe it and starve to death. They have no free media, they can't even exit the country legally. Before 1900... The church and islamic khalifs, imams, etc. were pretty much exactly the same; except they were trying to manipulate people by scaring them with "hell" or promising them "heaven" if they bent to submission and paid taxes and listened to orders. This system is good for maintaining power: It attaches it's desire to control people and use power on them by taxing them, using them to raise armies and further the leaders' own goals... All because the weak people of the system really believe what they're being told. Their parents were taught the same, and their parents before that....
May 14, 200719 yr Cult for sure. Just a thetan-based money-makin' scam. I wonder what would happen if I told a scientologist that Xenu sent me for them :-k ....
