May 24, 200719 yr My favorite band growing up was probably Sum 41, but now I mostly listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. . .So I guess I have changed a lot since then.
May 24, 200719 yr A list with David Bowie, Van MOrrison, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan noted as "Awesome" and the Doors and David Gilmour as "AMAZING" shouldn't be taken seriously. :P LP, heard Elfman in his band Oingo Boingo as well? Heyhey.. like i said, thats personal opinion, in my case... bands that mean more to me on the inside get that advantage... Elfmans own band, i have yet to check out, all i have of his is the soundtracks to nightmare before xmas, corpse bride, sleepy hollow, and Edward scissor hands
May 24, 200719 yr Probably, No Doubt... GNR, or.... Greenday (their old stuff obviously) since then i've grown.... my opinions... so :P [snip] ^ Nice tastes. Looks a lot like my playlist just with a little less metal, lol. i need a new HDD soon... 77.5 gb free 149 gb used, 65.7gb of which is music, 41gb movies 227 gb total space i do have a 200gig external but i use that strictly for backup/storage  i keep finding more music i enjoy... and its filling up :| Damn LP :P . I have probably a meager 10gb worth of music compared to yours. ps: check out Aarni and Summoning, you'd like them.
May 24, 200719 yr Oh, and you deffinitly need some Steely Dan/Donald [bleep]en, LP. You're missing out. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

May 25, 200719 yr Oh, and you definitely need some Steely Dan/Donald [bleep]en, LP. You're missing out. Blah.. never heard of Dan [bleep]en, but Steely Dan I cant stand... my art teacher played it in class a few times and my head nearly imploded. ps: check out Aarni and Summoning, you'd like them. Ive heard some Aarni and I liked it, although I forgot about them, thanks for reminding me.
May 25, 200719 yr Nice list there LP. Tool, Pantera and Rage = instant win. Most of the others are great too. :P
May 25, 200719 yr Blah.. never heard of Dan [bleep]en, but Steely Dan I cant stand... my art teacher played it in class a few times and my head nearly imploded. Uh, how is that possible? I could imagine that you have that when you're listening to Sun Ra, or something. But Steely Dan? their sound is so easy going and accesable that it's impossible that get that feeling. And not liking it wouldn't really fit in what you're already listening. Listen to Aja, in my eyes their best album. If you want something less smooth, go for Pretzel Logic. For [bleep]en solo, get the Nightfly first. Not to mention they're so incredibly funny. Here's the opening for the liner notes of Pretzel Logic: Hey Andy - We've been working on the liners for the new reisssues, and we were wondering: What is the new series going to be called? Steel Dan Millenium Reissue Series? Repackaged Again! for the Neuromantic Generation? Repackeging Concept #5? How about a sticker that reads: Newly Readministered by the Artists? Or maybe the best thing to do would be rename the tunes and the albums and reissue them as new product. Because, let's face it, they still sound fresh, we were years and years ahead of our time in those days (you said so yourself), and it's not getting any easier to write and record these suckers, you know? In this, post-postmodern era, when the average third grader is as big a wiseass we ever were. If you like this idea, let us know and we'll start working on the changes inmediatly. As it happens, we're years and years ahead of our time in royalties, too, so the advances would come in handy Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
May 25, 200719 yr Used to like Sum41 and Pennywise and stuff like that when I was 13. When I bought my first guitar I grew out of that and now I only listen to classic rock bands :) Led Zeppelin being the absolute favorite offcourse. 99 Slayer since August 2007.

May 25, 200719 yr blaargh I have before. They're up-beat/tempo and "cheery" and I dislike the singers voice.. if it wasn't for that I'd like it more, they're good musicians, but they don't appeal to me.
May 25, 200719 yr Probably Jimi Hendrix has been the guy who I have listened to consistently while growing up. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

May 26, 200719 yr Oooooh now i'm even more impressed with your music tastes This has got nothing to do with Lp's music taste, it being good or not. But why are you impressed with somebodies taste in music? Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

But why are you impressed with somebodies taste in music? lol i've been having a situation lately were people leech off of my music. I have someone over and they hear ONE song and they think that band/person is amazing. I find it annoying, at least do some research and look more into it before judging weather they are good or not. And then I share my music with a couple friends and they say it happens to them as well.
May 27, 200719 yr Man, I've got heaps (and they're my favorite bands BTW)! June 3, 200719 yr I'm 15, so I guess I'm still kind of growing up. First CD I ever bought was one by Nickelback. I used to think they were good, but then I heard about a band called Mando Diao and I realized that they suck. Mando Diao is without a doubt the best band out of all the other bands on earth, past or present. If you've never heard of Mando Diao, which you probably haven't (please note my signature), they're kind of a 60s-ish indie garage rock band. They're huge in countries like Sweden, Germany and Japan, but they don't get a lot of mainstream U.S. exposure, probably because they're so much different, by which I mean better, than the crap that's popular in this country right now. (I'm talking about rap, by the way.)
