Itsjustagame
Most Mods abuse powers so no they are not as respected as maybe they should be. But that's their own fault. Some Mods will mute you just because you get to in argument with someone. (Can't Debate FTL?) That's when you have to contact Jagex to take away their crown. Several friends of mine have gotten Jagex to taken Player Mods crown away due to bad decision making by some Mods. (Ex Player Mods have contacted them and were like "Omg you noob I lost my crown!!!") I had a crown taken away from some 120 because she tried to scam my pure when I dressed him up nooby and asked her questions about prices

Sharky88888
I saw something good earlier today. player:If i can't cant use will you trade back? mod: yes player: trade back then. i can't use it mod: no (it was a 300k item, not sure what) player: omg! i got scammed by a mod player2: seriously? player: yes! mod logs out player2: he logged! And the mod was lvl 124! And this is why mods can't be trusted as much as they should.

monkeyboo2
Player mods have some authority as they can temporaly mute people, thats got to be something. Personally mods just pee me off, for instance in a bank this one time on world 121 (swedish world), a mod told everyone that they had to speak english or he would mute them, and he was being serious. Hnmm well there are some less preferable mods...but as a mod myself i find i get alot of respect and support from players. Its good. anyway nice sig tommy T... 'Pure Pwnage' pwns. :) Dave Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.Sounds like Jagex to me...

Kill_Thomas9
There was also a riot in 65 and 66 (I was in 66) I was trying to law craft in 66, and couldn't get in, and I was like wth? So I log in, and someone says "whats the fally riot for?". So I head over, and it's a bunch of people saying "Ice me!" (ice plateu lunar tele). Star_Fox
they're just regular players like jagex stated. they have no power over anyone to follow them besides temp muting.
sithlord_man
Every player mod I've met was imbued of himself. Jagex is giving little kids "special mod powers" then they go all big headed because of it. Agreed. Don't get me wrong, some mods deserve their title, but 60% of them are random noobs that go around saying 'Trad me ur addy pl8 or i mut u', and those are the ones you notice. I disagree with this statement not all mods are like this....is say more than 90% are nice anddon't misuse their powers...another thing is how you treat the player mod treat him with respect you'll be treated nicely, if you abuse them then its your fault not theirs. 99 FM Acheived on Friday December 26th 2008Click for my blog|Mass Effect Discussion Thread|Nation Creation/Create your own Country Forums
TheWilch
when a lvl 56 player mod who is standin in the house full of men in edgeville, asking for passwords or he will ban people....somthings fiiiiiiiiiishy. jagex needs to be more specific or more aware of what the player mods are doing (not all, not the majority even). the p mod muted me for telling him he was abusing his power, i reported him. 2 days later un-muted, mod was still a mod
Toxicologist
So what? It's only one mod. I've met quite a few mods in my time on Runescape, and I've only ever met one abusive mod. Almost all of them are quite mature and decent, there aren't as many rotten eggs as people think. For some reason, people seems to expect JAGeX to do everything perfectly. Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims. ~Toxicologist~
drapit
Players know P mods do not have as much ... power ... as J mods. So they don't show as much respect.
chc05dude
I despise all mods, I've heard too many stories of people losing accounts for offensive language. You DO NOT want to get involved with customer support. Avoid P-mods like the plague. I've only meet 1 good pmod ever. If he weren't a friend of mine, I would hate him. I know the really dumb things he reports people for. Technical rule violations when the intent isn't really malicious. Honest jokes, trying to give clan info, trying to circumvent jagex's restrictive censor, etc. Getting p-mod-ship is all about who you know, not how good of a mod you will make. Myweponsg00d
After the server crash yesterday :XD: in world 64 Falador we all know lots of people went to the town square and began to rant and rave about Runescape ending or Durial making a return to kill us all. If you didn't see this here's the video: http://files.filefront.com/World_64_Cha ... einfo.html If you saw what was happening, lots of P-Mods tried to calm down the players, but they were completly ignored? Does this show us the real authority that P-Mods have now? I want this to be a serious discussion on what you feel about P-Mods. If you're wondering heres my view: I think player mods should be respecected, they are people who went beyond just reporting a macroer or two. Doesnt matter what lvl they are, they shouldn't be cast aside and they should've used all their powers to quiet the spammers yesterday. Many player mods I have come across have been either stupid, incompetant, rude, or all three. Thus, I really don't give them the time of day. Need assistance in any of these skills? sijan
Getting p-mod-ship is all about who you know, not how good of a mod you will make. That's painting with a pretty broad brush, brother. I'm a mod, and I know absolutely no one. I surely didn't get my pretty silver crown because of 'who I knew.' And as to the rest of the commentary cut from the same cloth, the vast majority of pmods I have run into have been courteous, helpful, and fair. There may be a few bad apples in the bunch, but in any group of 5000+ people, you are going to run into a number that aren't going to be models of perfection. I totally understand where the frustration comes from, but don't categorize an entire group of people based on stereotypes or what your friend's friend's friend told you happened to his 1st cousin's brother. It's almost as smart as disliking someone because of where they are from, the color of their skin or the church they go to (or don't.) Give everyone the benefit of the doubt, put yourself in their shoes and think for a second, then, if you think the person or pmod is still breaking the rules, then use the report button. It's there for a reason. "Duty, then, is the sublimest word in the English language. If I do my full duty, the rest will take care of itself." ~ Robert E. It's almost as smart as disliking someone because of where they are from, the color of their skin or the church they go to (or don't.) I don't think anybody ever said that all pmods are bad. Nobody's categorising all pmods as bad people, nobody's basing their opinion off of their "friend's friend's friend's 1st cousin's brother", and everybody treats pmods as normal players. If we see a pmod shouting 'selling rune scimmy 25k' in a bank, we don't go 'omg a pmod i h8 u reportad!!!1'. But if we try to buy the scimitar and the pmod swaps the 25000 for 2500, we obviously notice. After all, it isn't just another player scamming us, it's a player hand-picked as a mod by Jagex, so obviously we'd want to post about that or tell people about that. http://www.google.com/trends?q=runescap ... f+warcraftWe win. revanlives
The last player mod friend I had seemed to be very nice on his mod account, and later he asked me to add his pure, so I did. Then, he became very creepy and started saying he wanted to sex me and he became a total perv.
