June 6, 200719 yr Yay. -.- They removed the cartoons because some idiots were ranting about them in the official forums. http://www.google.com/trends?q=runescap ... f+warcraftWe win. Haha.
June 6, 200719 yr from the diaries it is a fact that implings will drop dragon arrow heads and dragon dart heads- im fairly sure dragon arrows would be fletchable at 90 flecthing, but darts could range from 94 to 96, meybe even 99. Also, i cant see jagex making the arrows/darts require normal shafts/normal feathers- but we'll see. so strange how i was 1 of the few people to suggest it was possible that they might be arrows&darts and head&tips and every1 was like omg now wai cant fletch dragon arrows. i do hope they take different wood maybe feathers to fletch, like rainbow fish feathers only.
June 6, 200719 yr Yay. -.- They removed the cartoons because some idiots were ranting about them in the official forums. NOOOO , where was the rant!? 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! (give my guide a read :^_^: )
June 6, 200719 yr Personaly i really like this new branch of insider info from RS. Besides having a step by step account that will, i hope, quiet down some of the newbs that have no idea how hard and how much time it takes to make stuff for the game. So now i shouldnt have to sit and explain the pains of programming and modeling to some newbs who want die hard awsome updates constantly and think jagex is being lazy while im trying to train. As a future gaming career hopeful I found this article extreamly helpful, besides the newb silence ability, in how it points out the different steps and how things get kicked around. This developement process should be pretty similur to most other companies and I find it useful to know how this stuff flows. over all a great adition that I will look forward too as much or more then the ingame content. June 6, 200719 yr http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?15,16,298,45182866. Stupid idiots. There's around 5 Jmod posts on there already. http://www.google.com/trends?q=runescap ... f+warcraftWe win. Haha.
June 6, 200719 yr Best update of the month in my opinion. (So far) Really shows whats going on in those Jagex heads. =D> Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
June 6, 200719 yr Well that bow does look tanking and I cant wait to see one in the final stage (ingame). It also shows a nice looking special which appears to be 3 arrows being shot with flame or another substance around them. So predictions about the special can become more centered. I now have two theories. Multishot - The bow shoots 3 arrows at 1 target all them inflicting normal damage. This seems over powered. Split Arrow - The arrow either splits into 3, or 3 arrows are fired, each one hitting a different opponent. This seems more realistic and if it was indeed this, then lurers would get another advantage and possibly a good weapon for multi pking. Don't forget the most likely candidate: fires one shot, drains opponent's run energy #-o It will be... Self Destruct Fires 2 shots at your oponnent, each damage done gets doubled then reversed back to you.
June 6, 200719 yr [hide= A bunch of really longs quotes] Release Day - 28 Weeks Later I hope these new development diaries help more players understand how difficult it is to implement an update into the game. I am pleased they released these, it will be fun to read them. :D Very true, especially when you look at the barbaric rants acusing Jagex of all sorts of things. This disproves a bunch of theories/myths: - Jagex neglects rangers This dark bow has been in the making since last year so clearly they don't neglect them. - Jagex doesn't care about higher lvls Mentioned a bunch of times how hard it is to get the perfect balance for higher levels. Then there's the time it takes as well which proves they do care about higher lvls but haven't displayed the fruits of their labor yet - Jagex doesn't test their updates (or various accusations about how they don't think before they update) They've got a special team that does that for weeks - Jagex doesn't listen to player's suggestions Clearly they take some consideration but it's important to notice how long it takes for them to make the update. So, given the time frame, even the good ideas can take a long time to get implemented.[/hide] About Jagex not taking suggestions from the forums, this one really kills it seeing as this idea came from the forums. A few months ago (I can't remember what thread or when); Mod Paul posted on a topic that was bashing Jagex. One of the earlier posters said that Jagex didn't take enough time on updates blah blah blah. Mod Paul said that updates take months and that he would consider getting the knowledge base department working on something that would show how long an update takes. Before that, I also saw another post by Mod Paul. A thread in the "rants" area was mad at Jagex because the shortcut key obatainedd from "Darkness of Hallowvale" didn't fit on a key ring. Mod Paul posted and said that it should and that he would get somebody working ot that. Months later, and update footnote mentioned that the key could now go on the keyring. We tried using an abyssal whip to 'suggest' they work faster
June 6, 200719 yr Just a couple thoughts. I thought it was a great read, also it goes to show you what a great team Jagex has to provide updates weekly when this kind of time goes into them. Another thing people don't realize is that these are personal ideas from people and I'm sure they don't take it lightly when they are trashed by hundreds if not thousands of players. Maybe this will make people think twice before spouting off (probably won't) =D> to Jagex 8-)
June 6, 200719 yr Author New bow. well said! Played since February 200113th to 30 huntingfiremaking cape achieved 6th August 2008_-_-_-_Quest cape achieved 19th August 2009
June 6, 200719 yr Jagex is really trying to remove this distance between them and the players this month. This will surely bring players closer to the proces of game developing. No let's hope this'll last longer then only one month... When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
June 6, 200719 yr did anyone save those *comics* there there computer that they removed and if so could you post them siggy ^.^
June 6, 200719 yr The bow looks like a recurve bow. Dude, you're an idiot #-o Dude, your feeble attempt at an insult is hilarious. ... You can tell JAGeX is British - No common sense. :notalk:Supportmage:Quick Robin,to the roflcopter!
June 6, 200719 yr I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I just want to say that - along with the achievement diary poll, the blitz on RWT'ers and botter's - it would appear that Jagex are finally listening to the voices of their most valuable players. That'll be us members then! Long may this spirit (and RS, because if the RWT and botting had continued unabated it wouldn't) continue. Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.
June 6, 200719 yr every company develops game content like this.. big wup Yet people still complain about updates and are completely oblivious as to what goes into making them. I (and probably numerous others) remember coming on this forum numerous times trying to tell people about the basic steps of Game developement. It's finally nice to see it translated on their site. Sadly it's something that shouldn't have to be done. Thing is, people are too ignorant and lazy to seek out the information for themselves and then go on to make empty, baseless, complaints in a reckless attempt to get what THEY want (not what's best for the community, mind you). I think the most painful part about this update is some people will still be too stupid to actually read what effort is put into the updates, and just continue to whine. Even though the information is now right on the site itself... Which is an insult to anyone who took the time to write it. To say that "every company develops game content like this" is just silly. Because truth be told... they're probably under fire just like Jagex has been if they don't have content similar to this. There is no "big wup" about it. Not when their integrity is in question (among other things probably). R.I.P Shiva
June 6, 200719 yr Mmmmmmmmm......a new bow, new arrows, a new way to snipe. Keep on sniping, friends. Keep on sniping.
