June 10, 200719 yr As all of you know, most people hate RuneScape(or pretend that they do) Why do you think that? (I'm not saying that people in this forum are hating it, more like WoW and AQ\DF forums) Note: I'm not so sure about WoW since I don't play it. Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
June 10, 200719 yr People love to have something to hate. For MMO gamers, they pick in their opinion, the lowest game. Now they can hate it like all their WoW friends!
June 10, 200719 yr Author You know, that is the same problem I have in Bloodveld forum, they attack the newest one(I'm glad I got sane and left. Although it's not was bad as on AQ forums(saying RuneScape there is worse than people spamming, flaming, hating) Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
June 10, 200719 yr They blame Runescape for "ruining" their lives? :-k Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
June 10, 200719 yr they probably play for 2 minutes, get scammed, start crying, then say rs stinks. I can say the same about WOW if I only played for 2 minutes. The early stages are always bad. After a while, things get better
June 10, 200719 yr Author You can never tell how a game is on just playing for 10-20 minutes. If you try, let's say AdventureQuest, you will have to try and play it for 1-2 days before you can judge it. I find it fun but most probably don't... June 10, 200719 yr It's 'In' to hate RuneScape and only idiots follow these trends. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
June 10, 200719 yr Well people always hate something that was popular but then became unpopular. Pokemon for example. Everyone loved pokemon untill it got old and now if you do anything relating to pokemon your "uncool" It seems that people always need something to hate.
June 10, 200719 yr Most of them played up to level 10 fighting cows... They actually haven't played deep into the game. Quit RuneScape :)
June 10, 200719 yr I think that pretty much all of the people that hate runescape just get to Tutorial Island then quit because of either the graphics or they just don't like having to learn the skills. Or they get to Lumby then train on goblins or something then decide that the game automatically sucks. I think that if most of them actually got in to the game and at least got past level 30 they would be fine. You just have to give games a chance before quitting and saying they stink.
June 10, 200719 yr Its the want of conflict and something to bind the community. Each community of mmorpg's tend to pick out another mmorpg as the 'bad' one to hate, while also having one 'good' one to like along side theirs. Its same concept as clans use. They pick out a clan or clans to be enemies with while picking others to be allies with. It binds the community by universally having something to go with or against. Even goes as far as things like pkers hating skillers etc. Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

June 10, 200719 yr alot of people play the game for 5 minutes and "hate" it, they just look at the graphics and some of runescapes other down sides and dont get to see the good sides, the community, mini games, quests, skills, and constant updates
June 10, 200719 yr There's two main reasons that jump to mind. First, many players simply can't see beyond the graphics. They often don't understand how a game with relatively poor graphics can still be such an awesome experience. Secondly, I think they're often put off by other players, in particular their manners and general behaviour. In my own experience, I've played very few games with so many ill-mannered players and people who simply act like children (I appreciate that most of them are children). I can see how these would be offputting. Although I love the game! lol
June 10, 200719 yr they just see the graphics and go"p0mg grafics loke f0mgsock dood like doan play this game w-0mg it stinks graphics r liek nothing compared to WoW" one of the big things against WoW though is that a. you can play runescape for free b. if you DO pay it's $10 bucks cheaper a month( or like 6 pounds for you english guys) they don't think about these things or the fact that runescape's graphics are amazing for a java game, it has pushed the limits of what java can do.
June 10, 200719 yr I think people hate runescape because of its monotonous click-click-click nature, it's lack of visual eyecandy and its mostly unintelligent players. Or they just need some game to throw garbage at, and they just happened to play runescape recently, which they claim had ruined their lives. Whiners are everywhere it seems. Ah well, such is life. :|
June 10, 200719 yr To be fair, the game does have a hard learning curve. Of course there's tutorial island but I was unable to take in the stuff I was doing. I remember in RuneScape Classic going through several days without realising that I could Right-Click to Trade and follow. When you start something new in RS, you only learn from your mistakes. June 10, 200719 yr I agree that RSbashing is quite hot, and mostly done by childs because their friends do so. Liek z0mg t3h gr4vikz suxz0rs. But I know quite some people who dislike RS with a passing, because of its extreme grinding. And RS is quite much the worst MMORPG when it comes to grinding. Maybe some Asian unknown MMORPG is even worse, but not a really big wellknown one. And they got a valid point on that one. Retired.
June 10, 200719 yr 42. Probably because of the graphics and that they are scared by the very open Skill-system. Owner of Quest Cape since 11/9/2007 23:30! Working my butt off to get it back.

June 10, 200719 yr People want to be idividuals, they dont want to be like the 9 million that play RuneScape. : So they side with the 10 MILLION that play WoW. (Go figure  )
June 10, 200719 yr Author People want to be idividuals, they dont want to be like the 9 million that play RuneScape. : So they side with the 10 MILLION that play WoW. (Go figure  ) Hmm, I wonder how many players AQ has... All I know is that there are 13m chars (17m got deleted not long ago) I see it this way: People playing WoW doesn't like AQ or RS. AQ hates RS RS doesn't care about any of them. People playing two or three of them are pretty dead :XD: Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
