Ring of Wealth: Does it work?

I know many many people who have given up wearing the ring of wealth because they are sure that it does nothing significant for the items players actually want for drops and instead just gives a higher frequency of junk or that it does nothing useful at all.

 

 

 

Then there are players who never take theirs off and will swear by them.

 

 

 

I am the former, but I'd like to know what the majority of people think.

I think it works. I know I always wear it when I fight High Lvl Creatures..I do get better rewards.

i think it works becuase, when i go to abberrant spectres, i wore my zerker ring for the first 2 trips, got no rare drops

 

 

 

but then i wore wealth ring, then i started getting lava battlestaffs and rune helms

think about it, jagex can be evil sometimes. for all we know the ring of wealth could just be a red herring that promises something with no way to prove it actually does anything, and they never told us :P

 

i, for one, think this whole ring of wealth thing is just in the mind, and even if it does anything it obviously isnt worth the trouble, so i never wear one :D

Well, I definitely have noticed when I accidentally forgot to where one. But at the same time, I've never gotten a single dragon drop.

 

 

 

My last assignment at the abberant spectres did seem pretty nice though. Got a lava staff and mystic bottom.

 

 

 

So even though I'm not sure it helps with rarer drops, I will continue to use it. I just seem to make more profit on average with it.

You'll get your dark bow eventually... like I said, it took me 195 wild pies for one... just be patient and you'll get it... don't make topics debating ROW's effectiveness since there's 1k already. :lol:

Around a month ago qeltar made a VERY good post about the ROW, about when the increase was 20% for rare drops, you still had a big change of noticing nothing. I'll search it for you.

It is stupid not to wear one when you want the rare drops- like really, the wealth ring can not make the drops worse, hence it can only improve them.

Used to wear one. Can't be arsed now as I wear zerker or seers ring. I noticed little significant difference as I still get good drops. If Jagex say it works, then I'll believe them - I don't think it's a red herring.
