Lord_Johnny
So which is the better skill? Or which skill is a more skillful skill that require more skills to be skillful? :D Facts about the two skills: On average, a 91+ runecrafter earns 1M Cash per hour using Super Energy pots. (Thax for spotting the typo guys) On average, an 85+ slayer earns up to 2-3 whips per 15 hours. (edited after different views from players) 91 Runecraft takes a longer time to get than 85 slayer. However, you can already earn around 400k+ an hour if you are 75+ runecraft, 320k+ an hour if you are 50+ runecraft, and 280k an hour if you are 44 runecraft. When you are 65 slayer, you have a chance of getting a d chain from dust devils if u stay there for an average of 165 days  Slayer is a very useful skill - you can get good drops from nechs and other monsters. (Rune boots, drag weps, etc etc) Slayer is best effective if you have a cb lvl of 90+. .:: Quotes Section ::. In progress! There will be more stuff coming up soon! So keep your eyes open! :XD: Ill be working more on this topic after my exams About me: Im a runecrafter for life! - so i say runecraft ! :XD: I have 91 rc and an amazing 43 slayer  91/91 RC! Matok
First, i dont think that those 2 skills are compareable. Not in their nature and not by their outcome. I would compare RC to WC rather then to slayer(both monotonic and calculable, financially speaking). Anyway, Slayer is the only skill that still keeps my eyes open... hohto
Slayer: + Not as repetitive as RC. + Good way to train your melee, range and magic. + Doesn't require full attention all the time. - After maxed melee it gets somewhat pointless - Xp/h isn't as stable as in RC. - Luck factor affects a lot to the profit you get. - If you want to maximise the xp/h, it costs a lot more than rc with runners. RC: + Stable xp/h rate. + Stable gp/h rate. + If you maximise the xp (runners), it's faster than slayer. + Doesn't really require any other skills. - Too repetitive - Requires full attention all the time or your xp&gp can't be maximised. In my eyes both are good ways to make money and one of the few truely challenging skills out there. They got few similarities but when you take a closer look at them, they are pretty opposite skills. I got over twice more slayer xp than RC xp, yet my daily xp record is higher in rc than in slayer. RC requires full attention while slayer can be done with "only your left hand". I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
caldius
I think its hard to compare these skills since slayer is about combat and runecrafting is about running around lots. Sure you can compare the money made per hour from each skill, but how much is actually made from slayer on the way to 85+? You gotta remember that whips arn't the only drop that Abby demons have, and depending on your task then you will get better or worse drops. But if you want to compare on simply which skill I prefer? well neither really, there are other skills I would rather train, but if I had to make a choice it would probably be slayer. There is something kinda fun about getting sent to figh random monsters.
Lord_Johnny
Heh true.. We cant really compare them but im just trying to see which skill is more lovable (obviously slayer now from the past 3 comments -.- ). These two skills are the two hardest skills to lvl. Harder than any other skills like farming and herblore. 91/91 RC!
joke_slayer
well look at my stats, rc is good for money, and entertaining when you find some dumb pkers, but slayer is ftw
time2quit
Rc is like a more rewarding agility, both running around in circles after all. Difference is how many agilitisers get paid 400k+ an hour? Harrington
I believe you're correct about Runecrafting being consistently more profitable, but I prefer Slaying for several reason (many of which have already been mentioned). * The overall experience is faster (when you factor in melee/range/mage exp). * It's far more varied which keeps you sane. * Few things in game match the joy of earning a fantastic drop * I often earn clue scrolls which helps break up tasks, again, making them more enjoyable. Bobbington
Runecrafting any day! it's steady income, you are not destined to be a slave of the luck drop system. Sure it's possible to earn alot more in slayer, but it does not offer any security.
Capone_Sabre
These two skills are the two hardest skills to lvl. Harder than any other skills like farming and herblore. The skill with the least number of people at 99 is herblore despite it being released in 2002. The second lowest is construction because it is relatively new. The third lowest is farming. Slayer is a lot more entertaining than runecrafting which is basically just walking. Runecrafting will make you more money but you'd have to get about 50m xp solo through the abyss to come even close to some of the merchants on this game in terms of cash. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.

Dark_Shark
Slayer. I wouldn't say I despice rc otherwise I wouldn't train it but either in the abyss, there is always the risk of being pked. Otherwise it is painfully slow and unlike slayer where you get a load of combat xp with it, the xp is too slow.
lukas1051
I prefer slayer, it's more enjoyable. I really don't care about how much more 1% profit you get, I'm not the sort of guy who spends 24 hours a day playing Runescape just to get a little red hat with a white bobble on top... I just wanna have fun. Isn't that why we play online GAMES. Do not read this signature.
