What really freaks you out?

Tornados/most inclement weather besides thunderstorms. Ever since I was little, tornadoes, hurricanes, waterspouts... what have you, have frightened the living crap out of me. When I was younger, almost every night I could barely sleep because of worrying about them. Then I decided that was no way to live, and decided to ignore most of my bad feelings about them. They still frighten me. Even though I don't really live in tornado country (Ohio), we almost got hit by one before: about in November two years ago or so, there were like three tornadoes the Cincinatti-ish area, and my family and I all went to the basement. Possibly the most frightened I had ever been in my life. Either that or when I was going on the King's Island "Drop Zone" for the first time and not knowing when it would drop :ohnoes:

At wonderland a few years ago, they have a ride called the Drop Zone, similar to Sky Screamer at Marineland. A person on an intercom started talking, saying "Drop commencing in 25,24,23,22,2-" and then it dropped halfway through when he said 21. Being unprepared for a giant ride to launch you downwards from hundreds of meters in the air at insanely high speeds can do wonders on your stomach.

I'm terribly afraid of bee's wasp's, spider's, nearly all bug's and scorpion's.

I'm not afraid of snakes, but out of all the above... The freakiest thing would be..

A PRAYING MANTIS

:o! But they're so cool!

A scorpion would freak me out, but everything else on that list probably wouldn't really get to me  (maybe the obvious small jump, but just a typical jolt of surprise). Though, if the snake had poisonous markings (red and yellow, etc.) I'm hi-tailing (sp?) it o_O.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Not true. I lost my virginity to the log out button #-o
You should have knocked him out and thrown him out the window (I actually did that at school).

Being in the middle of the hood at 3 in the morning. :ohnoes:

6 is scarier, there's an entire song about it. :P

What really freaks me out is, uh, when someone bites into a popsicle. That makes me shiver, it my arm and leg hairs stand on end, and gives me gosebumps. It's happening right now just thinking about it.

In all honesty, the thought of losing someone I love terrifies me more than anything. I suppose i'm too young to have had to overcome that fear.

There are also different ways of losing a loved one. Death is the most obvious, but the moment when I was most terrified was somewhat different.

I suppose ultimately it's the unknown of what it's like to live without someone you care about that scares me.

Public speaking, hands down. Even to a small amount of people (5 or 10) it still terrifies me. I can feel all their eyes on me, and I start to get really red, my hands sweat, and then I get really self conscious, so it gets even worse. Not a good situation for me to be in...

Cars, I got hit by a car last year. I was insanely lucky to come out almost unscathed. Not irrationally, but the thought of a car accident scares me, a lot.

Also being in the air when you know, in seconds you will come in contact with the ground in an undesirable way. That happens to me often.

Unsecured heights. As the OP said, I guess it's a fear of falling. I have done a bungee jump before, have no fears at all of rollercvoasters and the like, I actually love em.

But when it comes to standing on a roof, or climbing a ladder I get [cabbage] scared!

And about public speaking, I HATE it, but I'm not bad at it. Most people I've spoken in front of would be over 1000. At my school, I got into the top five for reading allowed a passage out of a book. (Which is alot harder then a speech, because you have to look up constantly (you're not told of what you will be reading before hand) to make eye contact, so you're reading a sentance ahead of what you're saying :wall:).

I have this weird fear where I would never ever want to touch flowers with my bare feet :o I have no idea how I got it, walking on grass is fine but whenever I see those little white flower or bigger ones I always stay away from them.

My mother thinks that it may be a fear of stepping on a wasp that could be on the flower, sounds logical to me.

You do know white people live there too? And in South Africa, they run red lights at night time for a REASON. And in Zimbabwe the black people are murdering the white people and taking their farms?

I have quite a few South African mates, and the times that they have been held at gun point, attempted car jacking, house robberies, I'm not too fond of going there either thank-you very much.

I don't think you ever overcome that fear; you just realise that there's not very much you can do about it.

In response to the above post, getting the falling feeling, twitching and waking up ... is one of the most annoying and embarassing things that can happen on a public train/bus.
