Everybodies seen them the level threes sitting in a bank repeatedly saying free gem cutting. You know that they probably are a scammer but theres no way to prove that, because now the minimum crafting level required to get on high scores is a few thousand xp above 43. Sure they dont get very many people but the solution is so simple that its worth it. Why not just have your crafting level show up on high score no matter what it is. That way if you come up and ask them to cut ruby and they have 1 crafting you know they're a scammer and you can report them. I know theres some faults in this idea and I'm not going to mention them for obvious reasons. So please tell me what you think good or bad and any ideas you have to improve this idea would be much appreciated.

 

 

 

Edit- it would only come up if you have like 2 or maybe 3 crafting so it doesnt have to account for everybody- Mouseydudes idea.

Yeah, this can be a good idea. In all honesty, this should have been done for ALL skills from the start! :evil: But, hey, what can you do? 7/10, would get a 10/10 if you elaborated more on it.

I think Jagex will have to buy new servers for that lol. Maybe a right-click on someone to view his skills (or a magic spell) would be better and more fun :)

Simply have a high level on your friends list do it if you can't... Why give it to some random person? Besides, Gem prices are at an all time Loooww (exsept Dimands... You damn overpriced son of a)

I think you just need to cut your own gems yourself.

Usually this isn't a scam, to be safe, just trade cuts for uncuts.

 

People just stand there in banks for crafting experience. I don't see why anyone would want to scam 2000 gold at the most....

Why do you even want them cut if you don't have the craft level to make jewelry? :wall:

I think you guys are all thinking about this from the wrong point of view. The view of a level lets say 40 or above someone who has a basic understanding of how runescape works. You got to look at this as how a lower level thinks. When you first started I bet most of you thought that 1k was a big deal. Enough to make you quit if you lost it, and I bet you thought that if you got a gem cut it would be worth more, just examine one. And as for the people who do the scamming yes they're not experienced people who scam for a living, they're just low levels hoping to make a quick buck they have no idea its a horrible plan. Sure you just not have your gems cut by a stranger, but you also shouldn't beg, try to get your armor trimmed, not check the second trade screen etc, etc... but people still do that and you will never be able to convince them not to.

I can not stress this enough! I am not saying this is a major problem I am just saying theres an easy solution you might as well fix it.

Are you serious? If you see someone saying "free gem cutting" and you dont trust them.... then DON'T TRADE THEM..... Or do you have the same brain interlect of a sponge?

I joined durring RSC where the community was friendly, so I really didn't worry about loosing 1k. If I lost 1k I could ask a random level 50 or higher on the street for a ruby or 1k and I would get it.

 

 

 

I was about level 70 when RS2 came out, and by then I learned how to get money.

 

 

 

But I would never think 1k was somuch to make me quit. Maybe 100k if Iwas young, but umm...

I got scammed out of 2 diamonds this way (before I knew where the "report abuse" button was #-o ). And it inspired me the increase my crafting until I was able to cut everything myself!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BTW if anyone does want something cut, I trade cuts for uncuts and always have at least 30 of every gem at any one time so just add me!

Or you could trade the uncuts and wait for them to trade equivalant cut.

If anyone wants gems up to d stone cut, ill do it. Just pm me some time and ill see if i can get to a bank. Im not a scammer, i just want 2 crafting lvls so i can cut onix... :D

you have any idea how huge the highscores would be after all those scammers? I agree they need to be stopped, but i was thinking more along the lines of just spreading the word of these lousy scams
