Still I'd like you to refrain from calling the bible a piece of trash. A little respect or politeness would be nice.

The Bible is worshipped and every word taken account for just because a couple of people claimed that a "holy" man created the world blah blah. The Bible insults women, is extremely hypocritical and is just overall bizzare nonsense which causes groups like these idiotic people (which is why i started this topic in the 1st place and has really gone of track) to form. I don't just hate the Bible, I despise the Qaran, a supposed "religious and holy" book yet its followers seem to think that it approves of the murder and destruction of the world for "righteousness". These books are ancient, people translated the Bible into english thousands of years ago, in a day where people could barely read, never mind understand 2 languages... so it's likely to be very inaccurate and most likely subject to editing to agree with only what the editor of it wants.

 

 

 

The Bible is forced upon us from such an early age and all through school until the age of 16! Why the hell should we be made to endure such make believe stories?! I don't go into church and start forcing old people to believe in evolution and science yet we have to sit there and waste 11 years old lessons on religion...

 

 

 

Just 'cos i disagree doesn't mean i hate your religion, you can believe in whatever you feel like. Just because i think its rubbish and you're being given extremely false hope of life after death or whatever you believe in, doesn't mean you should reply saying I'm just an atheist enforcer or whatever...

You could still appreciate the bible for its philosophical commentary and values of self-examination that you could extract from it. In my opinion, [i dont believe in god] Christianity is a philosophy of self-examination and betterment. You should atleast appreciate that.

And saying that defending something means that you agree with it is absolute stupid. I think that's why. His mommy made him sit through Sunday school for so long when he could be doing hardxcore things like flaming religion baselessly on a forum. His selfish attitude means that rather than being upset with whomever made him sit through all those lessons, he's upset at the subject matter, and his skewed perspective makes him think that such a sentiment applies to everybody. I didn't go to Sunday School or any of that crap because my parents gave me a choice to go, I chose not to. So your last paragraph is again crap.

 

 

 

The Bible is inaccurate. End of story. I haven't criticised anything old just for the sake of being old. Using the example of criticising farming or sleeping because it's old, that's just complete and utter weird. They have nothing to do with eachother apart from age. That's like me saying you only believe in the bible because it's old, just like you believe in your grandmother when she tells you that you're an idiot just because she's old. No correlation.

Does the latter seem disgusting to you? Chances are yes. So you just called a choice disgusting. Grats. Now take a look at the Bible where it clearly classifies homosexuality as a sin. So it's his opinion that it's disgusting and a fact that the Bible calls it a sin. Hence to him (yes, he said to him, no he didn't try ramming his opinion down other's throats) it is disgusting and to all believers and God it is a sin. Hence he has a place.

I agree for the most part. The Bible is old. It can't be fully applied to modern day life. But yes, this is actually still followed. In most households, the father is usually the "leader". And like Hellbellz said, countries normally have male leaders.

 

But these are a few passages. You can't tell me that everything in the Bible is trash. You mean "Treat others as you want to be treated" is rubbish? How about "Love your enemy"?
